Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Last night, Rin confirmed to his members that they will be working with Wolf Marks. Everyone has a different opinion on this matter, but they didn't say because they trust Rin and they trust Rin's judgment.

The next day in the afternoon, Rin was sitting in his study doing the work that had accumulated because he was out of town. Now that he was back, he had to do all the pending work.

The call came in late afternoon, just as the sun dipped behind the horizon and streaked Rin's office in hues of amber and steel. Rin was looking at the file when his phone buzzed. He looked at the ID and saw the name of the man who was the topic of their talk last night.

They had exchanged contact information on the day of the meeting, and Rin had a hunch that Kael would contact him, so Rin was not surprised to see Kael's name pop up on his phone.

Rin picked up the phone but didn't speak.

"Rin Asano."

Kaels' deep husky voice came through the phone, making Rin feel like he was whispering in his ear.

"I think we should meet formally. Our gangs can't work together if they don't even know each other."

Kael directly speaks the point.

Rin replied, his tone cool but thoughtful.

"You're suggesting we bring both teams together?"

"Exactly. A face-to-face dinner. Your people meet mine. After all, we are going to work together, so it's best if both teams know who they are going to work with. "

After a little pause, Rin replied."Fine, but where are we going to meet?"

" At the Wolf Marks headquarters. I thought since I suggested the idea, it would be good for me to invite you and your team to my place."

" And, I think this will be enough to prove that we want Crimson Vultures to be allies."

This shocked Rin a bit, for a mafia boss to invite someone into their main HQ, where all the information and important things were, was never heard of. For Kael to invite Rin's team to their place means he wants them to be allies.

"Time?" Rin asked.

" Hmm... How about tomorrow? Dinner?"

" Alright," Rin said and hung up the call.

Dinner had just begun when Rin joined the long, dimly lit dining table. Plates of food were passed around casually. It was Kanji's handiwork, as always.

After everyone was done with the dinner, Rin told them to stay because he had something to say to them. Everyone arrives in the living room and takes a seat when Rin speaks.

"We're going to the Wolf Mark HQ tomorrow. Dinner."

A beat of stillness followed. Everyone was confused by the words; they didn't understand what Rin meant by this.

Lucas speaks first. "Umm…. Why are we going there?"

Everyone wants to know the answer to this question, so they all look at Rin, waiting for him to answer.

Rin looked at them and said. " I got a call from Kael. They want us to come to their HQ for dinner to have a proper meeting between us since we are going to work together."

Tobi leaned forward, brows raised. " They want us to go to their HQ didn't their core members live there?"

Rin met each of their gazes. " Yes. They want to appear sincere; they want to be allies with us. I'm just as surprised as you guys, but if we're going to take down Ashfang, we'll need to trust them enough to stand beside them."

There was a silence in the living room. They all can see that they want to be allies with them, and they also don't want to make enemies with the Wolf Marks, too.

Rin looked at everyone's face and knew that they all agreed.

Everyone was thinking about what to do when they went to the Wolf Mark's HQ— except Ari, of course.

" Sooooo, who will go?" Ari dragged his words and asked.

" Everyone. It will be a meeting between the core members, so everyone will go."

Ari slumped back on the sofa dramatically. "Do I have to wear something formal?"

Kanji sighed. "Don't wear your pajamas, and you'll be fine."

Despite initial shock, no one objected. They trusted Rin—and more importantly, they trusted the purpose behind his decisions.

At the Wolf Mark Estate

Kael also gathered his core team in the living room. All of them were looking at Kael, waiting for him to speak.

"Crimson Vultures are coming here tomorrow night."

There was a moment of silence.

Then:

" Wait, their boss is also coming?" Jax asked with a serious face.

" Yes, all their key members will arrive tomorrow."

"Finally!" Jax grinned, already standing. "I need to pick an outfit. Something….hot."

Nico rolled his eyes. "What, you planning on seducing someone or forming a treaty?"

"Both," Jax smirked, already halfway up the stairs.

Rowan raised a brow," Can I ask why?"

" I suggest this idea. I think it will be a great opportunity for everyone to have a formal introduction."

" Okay, but why here. We can meet with them anywhere else, but why at the HQ?" Milo asked with curiosity because she knew that Kael would never allow just anyone to enter his den.

" If we want to show our sincerity, then I think it will be the best option. Don't you guys agree?" Kael said with a smirk on his face.

Nobody said anything, but they all were looking forward to meeting with their new allies.

" Well, whatever," Talon's expression didn't change, but a flicker of curiosity glinted in his eyes.

Milo, the only omega—and the calmest of them all—simply nodded once and asked,

"What time will they arrive?"

Kael looked at her. " At dawn. They will be having dinner here. Can you handle the preparations?"

"Alright. I'll go speak with the chef."

And just like that, preparations began.

Two powerful gangs. One shared table.

This meeting would decide more than just a pact.

It would determine if the wolves and vultures could truly fly together toward war, or if one would tear the other apart before they even took off.
