Chapter 2: Roll the Dice, Fate!

The void was like a loading screen stuck on max brightness, all white and empty. My head was still spinning from the entity's words: "Night Frederik the Second, you get one wish. Choose wisely."

Me, a 46-year-old ex-Delta Force guy, discharged for sticking to my guns, had just gotten flattened by a train while playing Uma Musume. Now, I was candidate 99999 in some cosmic isekai lottery, grinning like a kid who'd just found a cheat code. This was my shot to rewrite everything.

My brain kicked into high gear, spitting out every power I'd ever geeked out over. Superman's invincibility, soaring like a total badass.

Gojo Satoru's Infinity, smirking as attacks just bounce off.

Rimuru's Predator, eating enemies and stealing their skills.

Or—damn—Yogiri Takatou's Instant Death, wiping out anything with a glance.

"It felt like standing before a mountain of treasure, knowing I could only take a handful—yet I craved every single piece."

But my Delta Force instincts—the ones that kept me alive through gunfire until I got distracted by a horse girl waifu—hit the brakes. Pick something too OP, and you'll steamroll everything.

Boring.

No anime, no gacha games, no internet in this new world. I'd probably end up as an adventurer, but even that could feel like grinding a dead MMO without a real challenge. My head was throbbing from all the options.

"Alright!" I said, locking eyes with the entity's blurry face. "I want a GSSR gacha system, like Fate/Grand Order. Ten plus one pulls, guaranteed one SSR, maybe four if I'm lucky.

The entity's mosaic face lit up, like I'd just dropped a plot twist.

"Now that's a wild choice," it said, barely holding back a laugh. "And the banner?"

I smirked, my otaku swagger on full blast. "Every power ever imagined—anime, manga, novels, games. Mix it up, make it random. Let destiny deal the hand."

It froze for a second, then let out a laugh that shook the void like a bad server lag.

"HA! You're the most entertaining soul I've seen in ages! A random gacha? Crazy. But your prize pool's got too much junk—summoning toast, perfect haircuts, that kinda crap. I'm trimming it down to powers that actually mean something."

"Deal," I said, keeping my cool like I was back in a mission briefing. "Just keep it fair and… fun."

The entity flashed a grin that screamed trouble and snapped its fingers.

A holographic panel popped up, glowing with runes and a big SPIN button, like FGO's summon screen on overdrive.

"Let the dice of fate roll," it said. "Gacha time."

My heart was pounding. I slammed the button without blinking.

The void exploded with rainbows, and that iconic FGO summoning music blared—the ding-ding-ding that had drained my wallet back on Earth.

"Hell yeah, it's the FGO theme!" I yelled, eyes locked on the swirling lights.

A single card shot out, glowing gold.

My jaw dropped.

"OY, OY, OY! First pull, and it's an GOLD CARD?! Come on, gacha gods, don't troll me—give me something epic!"

The card flipped, showing a white beast with four wings covering its face, a spinning wheel above its head.

My eyes nearly popped out.

"Mahoraga?!" I shouted.

Not just a summon, but Template Character: Mahoraga, meaning I'd get the Jujutsu Kaisen shikigami's powers—adapt to any attack, regenerate like a beast, even break through Gojo's Infinity. I was losing it.

But before I could geek out over the animation, I glanced at the entity.

"Got a skip button for this?"

It stared at me like I'd just insulted its mom.

"Skip? Skip? Most people treat their gacha animation like it's the holy grail! And you wanna fast-forward?"

"Old habit," I said, shrugging.

"Delta Force didn't give me time for fancy visuals during a briefing. Just show me the loot."

The entity laughed, shaking its head.

"You're a weird one. Fine, let's cut the fluff."

With a snap, the rainbows and music vanished, leaving the void empty except for a glowing panel:

I stared at the list, my heart doing backflips, but then I frowned.

"Tch… only two SSRs? If it wasn't for the guarantee, I'd probably be stuck with just one. Guess I'll take what I can get,"

I muttered, half-grumbling.

The entity gave me a sly look.

"Not a bad haul, Night. With that combo, you've got a 60% chance of surviving your first year."

I froze, my Delta Force instincts kicking in.

"Hold up. 60% chance of surviving? What's that supposed to mean?"

It smirked, like it was enjoying my reaction.

"Most humans beg for god-tier powers, and fate hands them challenges to match. Lucky for you, your gacha's strong but not too crazy, so the odds aren't as bad."

Cold sweat trickled down my back. 60%? That's barely a passing grade!

Before I could press for more, the entity raised a hand.

"Your wish is granted. Time to send you to your destination."

"Wait, I've still got—"

I started, but a massive hole ripped open beneath me, swallowing me into a swirling vortex of light and runes.
