Chapter : 11[11]; Armand Delacroix
---------------------------------
Well, indeed, he had done something that can chill anyone's heart.
When he was coming to the UK from India, his ship and hers collided in the Celtic Sea (it is the part of the Atlantic ocean), near Brest in France, when he was with Devika.
At that time, the system had come, but due to his unstable emotions and system merging process was still going, he sometimes lost his memory for a short time.
And when it collided, he and Devika were separated, and she was with the British officer who was responsible for letting them come here.
And in the collision, he met Catherine, who was also going to Britain, but on another ship.
They spent almost a month together, and he unknowingly promised her that one day he would marry her, and she even agreed.
But he didn't expect her to be the princess of the country, and even with the broken memories of that time, he knew it was almost impossible; and although the system had come, it was not activated, and he couldn't rely on the weird system.
After that, he also thought it might be a joke from him and a joke from her, that she agreed to marry him. And when she knew his identity, she might even look down on him and forget about him.
After all, how long took for a person to forget about another person?
Not to mention, there was no way for the two to talk with each other.
So he almost forgot about that incident and also about her. And thought, she had also.
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but slap his forehead hard and sigh, realizing what he had done to a girl's heart and her emotions. But he also knew there was no turning back from this.
They were already separated from now on; their paths would never intersect. After all, he would rarely come to Europe after this. Because from the moment the ship sank, and the RMS Carpathia rescued them, he would go directly to New York and then poach people from the USA.
Thinking of his naivety, he clenched his fist and continued to curse himself.
Soon the evening came.
The unsinkable ship finally reached its first destination at 6:45 PM in the evening at Cherbourg's harbour, but it didn't dock directly in Cherbourg; rather, it moored at the outskirts of the dockyard.
The evening was painted in pink and orange hues, while the calm sea reflected the dim light like a bright mirror.
Passengers came from smaller ships to the Titanic, bringing their families and belongings.
The crew members happily welcomed them aboard for the voyage.
The muttering of the people and loud footsteps echoed throughout the entire Titanic.
The horns of the smaller ships sounded a sonorous note that seemed to slice through the twilight calm.
Meanwhile, Aaryan had been standing for hours at the front of the ship, near the railing, his calm eyes tracing the darkening evening of the Cherbourg shores.
The memories of today and the past year were still playing in his mind, like a video file inserted there.
Looking at those people, their families, and their children, an unknown emotion stirred in his heart.
He knew almost 30 percent of the people would survive the Titanic. And even if he wanted to stop this tragedy, there was no way he could. If he did, his system might never activate.
Thinking of those thousands of people dying in the cold waters of the Atlantic, he couldn't help but sigh.
However, compared to the tragedies that India and the world have faced under British rule, this was not even a O.0001 percent of the damage they caused to humanity.
However just he thinking pf this, he suddenly remembered something, and walked toward the first class suite.
Suite B-54.
Knock... knock!
Two consecutive knocks were made on the door of suite B-54.
Click... The door opened soon after.
A middle-aged man stepped out from the suite and looked at the person standing before him.
"Huh... you came!" Armand Delacroix, opening the door wider, looked at the man in front of him and said with a smile,
"Come in." He gestured for the person to enter his suite.
The man nodded and entered the suite.
"Well... have you done the work I gave you, Mr. Armand?" the calm voice of the visitor asked.
"Yes, Mr. Yadav. We have already attached five additional life-saving boats. Each has the capacity to carry forty people easily, and if overloaded, it can hold around sixty." The middle-aged man didn't turn around but opened his suitcase, took out a file, and handed it to Aaryan.
Aaryan took the file and carefully read the details of the contract.
"Actually, I asked to add at least another ten lifeboats to the ship, but as you know, the White Star Line is very arrogant and didn't listen to me. However, after some pressure from me and a few friends, we were able to add only five lifeboats." The middle-aged man sat on the bed and said to Aaryan.
"Okay... well, I think you shouldn't have disclosed this matter, right?" Aaryan said coldly and calmly after hearing him.
"No, no, I don't want to die yet. How could I disclose this matter, Mr. Yadav?" He quickly wiped nonexistent sweat from his forehead and replied in a fearful tone.
After that, he handed the file back to Armand.
"Okay, I am leaving now." Without waiting for a response, he left.
After he came out of the suite, Aaryan finally sighed. This was the last thing he had to ensure, his safety when the ship eventually sank.
How did this person know about it, and why did he arrange the five lifeboats?
The reason is simple: six months ago, when the craze about the Titanic emerged, it also alarmed the rival of the White Star Line, the Cunard Line, after hearing about the Titanic's fame.
The Cunard Line feared that the Titanic would take all the fame.
So, the real reason the Titanic failed was because its captain was given a chip, or rather a threat: that he must crash this ship into the North Atlantic Ocean. If he didn't, his family would be killed by the Cunard Line. But if he did his job completely and died in the sinking, then not only would the Cunard Line honor him, but he would also gain fame. Most importantly, his family would receive money from both the White Star Line and the Cunard Line, an amount he could never earn throughout his lifetime.
And the system also forced him to board the Titanic. But at that time, he had just received the medals of the French Republic.
These medals were given to him by the system as compensation for the late arrival and the confusion caused by the memory loss.
Since the system forced him onto the Titanic, Aaryan decided to use the medals to build some connections in France, and he did. He connected with Armand, who, although not a top-level person, at least had some identity in France.
Armand could at least persuade the White Star Line to add the lifeboats to the ship.
As for why Armand was afraid, the reason was simple: Aaryan warned him that if he dared to reveal the Cunard Line's identity and their plan to sink the Titanic, since the captain's family could be killed. Once this news was released, it would mean the Cunard Line would target them, and there was a high chance none of them would survive if the secret was exposed.
So he kept this matter to his own heart. Even so, he decided to take the trip on this ship, thinking that Aaryan's accusation might be false.
But why did he believe Aaryan?
Well, because Aaryan told him that he had mixed poison into his drink, and if he didn't take the antidote within six months, he would die. And except for Aaryan, no one else had the antidote.
Moreover, Armand is a very weak person at heart; he is afraid of death, so he easily agreed to Aaryan's orders.
And once the ship was about to sink, he promised to personally give the antidote to him, as long as he stayed with him.
7:30 PM
Meanwhile, in the most luxurious suite of the RMS Titanic.
Suite Number : B-52
Young Master, the Legion of Honour, France's most important award, is real, and it belongs to Aaryan. The award was personally given by Minister Joseph Caillaux.
A middle-aged man, who was Daniel's secretary, bowed and confirmed the news that the French Republic medal was genuine.
At the moment he heard this, a loud bang echoed through the room.
Daniel punched the table forcefully, knowing the medal was real.
"Damn it!" he cursed.
Daniel knew that killing this person would be very difficult for them, even with their huge background.
If this was discovered, his family would face criticism from all over France. Being rich didn't mean they were strong, they had no military power. That was all held by the British government. Even if the British government helped them, it would be only for his family.
Not to mention, Daniel was the third heir, not the first or second, and the family's power was concentrated in the hands of the other heirs.
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but consider killing those couples as well.
"Yes... yes, this way I could avoid it."
However, just as he was giving the order to his men, he suddenly noticed their expressions were not quite right, and they seemed to have some problem in saying.
"What... happened?" he asked, noticing their appearance.
Well...sir...this is about....!!
