The whole thing looked like a plot.
It wasn't as if Leon hasn't thought about it but wasn't this the lowest of move.
There was no way a regional head who were constantly glowing in their own pride would stoop to such low-handed move.
Verity sighed. "The boy is doing fine." She said in a calm voice, taking a short look at Reith. "I think he would be out cold for some time. With the damage he took to his body, He wasn't supposed to live."
"That's why you're the best." Leon gave her a small smile, through the lens of the communicator she used.
Verity shook her head. "That's where you are getting it wrong. It wasn't my doing. Something.... I felt the hand of someone else in this play."
Leon silently listened but when Verity didn't say anything, he bowed. "Thank you for helping him recover, Verity. Please take good care of him."
"I know my job." Verity said with a side eye, and Leon awkwardly smiled, cutting off the connection.
At his side of the call, Leon hung his shoulders.
