Chapter 188 - Chapter 188: Emergency—The Tenseigan Has Been Stolen

"I'm not listening, not listening, not listening!"

Gin flat-out ignored the mysterious voice in his ear and slammed his hand straight onto the golden, glowing Tenseigan.

Seeing that her warning had been completely ignored, the voice's owner panicked and revealed herself, placing herself between Gin and the Tenseigan.

"Stop! Do you have a death wish?!"

"Obaa-san, who even are you?"

Gin awkwardly pulled back his pervy hand and looked at the white-haired old lady blocking his way. His scarlet dead-fish eyes rolled as he asked, clearly annoyed.

"You're not from around here, are you, boy?"

In her spirit form, the old lady studied his handsome face, a flicker of admiration in her eyes. Her tone softened.

"You really can't tell?"

Gin pointed to his scarlet eyes. The ominous pattern within gave off a pressure that made even the spiritual old woman uneasy. She furrowed her brows, seemingly trying to recall something.

"Alright, alright, outta the way. I've got things to do."

Seeing that she was lost in thought, Gin ignored her and once again reached out to touch the golden Tenseigan, trying to activate the technique that Hamura had taught him.

"Stop!!"

The old woman hadn't expected Gin to be so reckless. While she was distracted, he placed his hand on the Tenseigan. Her voice rang out in panic.

But Gin, as usual, ignored her. His hand landed squarely on the glowing orb.

To his surprise, the Tenseigan was cool to the touch, not blazing hot as he had expected.

"Stop what? It's not like—eh?!"

Just as Gin tried to inject his chakra, the orb suddenly emitted a powerful suction. His hand was stuck tight against its surface, and his chakra was being drawn out at an alarming rate.

"Sigh… I told you not to touch it. Now look what happened."

The old woman shook her head with deep regret, watching his chakra get siphoned. Her white eyes filled with sorrow.

"A shame, really. With a face like that, if you had married Tsukihime, your kids would've been excellent."

"Hey! Quit sighing and explain what the hell is going on!"

Gin's hand was glued to the Tenseigan, and though he didn't seem in any immediate danger, the loss of chakra was interfering with his ability to use Hamura's technique.

"Sigh… so tragic—wait, why are you still talking? Shouldn't you be reduced to a husk by now?"

The old lady's eyes widened as she turned and saw Gin still very much alive. She looked like she'd seen a ghost.

"Don't ask. Just natural talent."

Gin raised his free hand and rubbed his chin, then gave her a proud thumbs-up.

"Even if you've got a massive chakra reserve, the Tenseigan will still suck you dry."

The old woman regretted not being more direct earlier. If only she'd stopped him sooner.

"Fine, fine. If you're not gonna explain, this thing's gonna suck me into a raisin in a few years!"

Gin rolled his eyes, clearly not panicking.

"Only chakra infused with Ōtsutsuki blood can safely interact with the Tenseigan. Anyone else gets drained."

The old woman shook her head, already preparing to write his obituary.

"Ahhh, why didn't you say so earlier?"

Gin finally understood. He let out a sigh of relief—he was this close to blasting the thing apart.

The ominous pattern in his eyes faded, returning his vision to plain black.

"You've given up?"

The old lady noted the loss of that eerie eye power. It clearly wasn't compatible with the Tenseigan, though it intrigued her.

"Finally found a promising candidate… sigh… wait, what's that?"

Just as she was about to leave, the old woman suddenly sensed a familiar aura behind her. Whipping around, her dim eyes locked onto Gin's glowing white ones.

Her jaw trembled. It took several seconds before she croaked out:

"What… what are you?!"

"Me? Just your average wandering Uchiha~"

Gin's eyes shimmered with a bluish tint—his Byakugan now activated. His chakra shifted to a soft lavender hue.

Suddenly, the Tenseigan, which had been greedily draining him, froze.

It recognized that chakra.

It was... familiar.

Reluctantly, it released his hand.

"Good boy~ Now sit tight."

Gin clapped his hands, and a violet glow appeared on his palms. Complex sealing symbols floated outward, dancing with mysterious energy.

The old woman could only watch in shock as those seals flowed into the golden Tenseigan, disappearing without a trace.

On the moon's surface—

"Give up, Onee-sama."

Tsukihime floated midair, wrapped in cyan-blue chakra. Her Tenseigan eyes carried a tinge of pity.

Below her, Byakuya knelt with one hand on a dislocated shoulder. Bloodied and bruised, her white eyes still showed no trace of surrender.

"I haven't lost yet!"

Byakuya gritted her teeth and forced herself up. With a snap, she popped her shoulder back into place. The mysterious energy inside her still burned strong, fueling her body with unending vitality.

"Stubborn fool."

Tsukihime sighed. Her face showed clear disappointment. Raising her hand, she summoned a set of chakra beads—no more holding back.

"I can fight you all day!"

Rejuvenated again, Byakuya shot forward, butterfly wings beating hard.

BOOM!

Tsukihime waved her hand. The chakra beads spun rapidly, forming a silver halo. A violent tornado erupted from the ring.

Ginrin Tensei Baku! (Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion!)

Caught off-guard, Byakuya was hit dead-on. Her wings tore apart mid-flight. Blood splattered as her body tumbled through the air, the scene tragic yet beautiful.

Shinkūgeki! (Heavenly Void Strike!)

But she wasn't finished. As she spun through the air, massive fists formed from her wings and launched at Tsukihime.

"Futile."

Tsukihime barely glanced. She raised her hand, intending to erase the attack with her chakra beads.

SLAP!

The beads vanished.

Stunned, Tsukihime didn't even have time to react as one of the fists smashed into her, tearing apart her chakra cloak and blasting her hundreds of meters away.

Huff… huff… I actually hit her?!

Byakuya hovered shakily, disbelief written all over her face.

Cough! Cough! What's going on? Something happened to the Tenseigan?!

Tsukihime clawed her way out of the dust. Her eyes were no longer cyan-blue—they'd returned to their pure white state.

"What happened?"

Byakuya landed beside her, concerned.

"My connection to the Tenseigan… it's gone!"

She tried to sync again and again, but nothing worked. Her face turned pale.

According to ancient records, if the Tenseigan ever stopped responding… there was only one explanation.

"The Tenseigan's been stolen!"

Back inside the artificial moon, the once-brilliant Tenseigan now sat silently. Its overwhelming pressure was gone, its energy completely sealed—like a naughty child caught red-handed.

"What did you do?!"

The old woman grabbed Gin by the sleeve.

"Chill. Just calmed it down a bit~"

Gin shrugged. That thing was basically a ticking time bomb. If someone got the bright idea to use it to push the moon into Earth, there'd be no more slacking off.

"Why did it cut its connection to Tsukihime?!"

Still gripping his sleeve, the old woman demanded answers.

"Hey hey, I'm just the hired help. Maybe you should ask my boss?"

Scratching his curls, Gin closed his eyes to call out.

"Oi, Uncle Hamura? I'm here to report in—huh? Where'd he go?"
