At some point, the sky over the battlefield had turned gloomy. Just moments ago, the sun had been shining brightly, but now it was covered by heavy clouds.
And then, a golden beam of light descended from the sky, slicing through the darkness, bringing a golden sun back into the world.
As a ray of sunlight fell on Uchiha Tajima, a massive ethereal shadow slowly gathered behind him. Bathed in golden light, it began to expand, gradually forming into a humanoid shape.
With each moment, the figure grew taller. Silver-gray skeletal structures emerged from its back, and two enormous skeletal hands appeared, cradling Uchiha Tajima protectively.
That humanoid figure continued to rise in height. A faint glow began to solidify over the skeletal frame, which was soon encased in thick armor. In the end, a silver-gray giant—equal in size to the Rakan Wooden Golem—stood proudly on the battlefield.
[Susanoo – Fourth Stage]
"Whew… using this for the first time burns a lot of chakra."
Uchiha Tajima stood atop his own Susanoo, rubbing his aching eyes as he gazed directly at Hashirama and the others atop the wooden giant.
"Uncles, allow me to show you a specialty from the Uchiha clan~"
As he spoke, he raised Susanoo's hands. A series of enormous magatama began to form between the fingers, radiating pressure and emitting sonic booms. With a single thought, the giant beads shot toward the stunned Senju Hashirama.
[Yasaka no Magatama] (Yasaka Magatama)
"Aniki! Snap out of it during battle!"
Tobirama was the first to recover. Without bothering to process what kind of secret technique the enemy had just used, he elbowed his older brother to break him out of his stupor.
"Tobirama, am I under a genjutsu?"
Hashirama pointed in disbelief at the silver-gray giant in the distance, genuinely hoping his brother would dispel the illusion.
BOOM!!
But Tobirama had no time to answer. The enormous magatama had already struck the wooden giant directly, causing a chain of massive explosions. The two brothers staggered at the impact, nearly falling off.
"It's real!"
Hashirama quickly stabilized the wooden giant, then looked up with excitement at the silver-gray colossus equal in size to his own creation.
"Tobirama, look at that giant! Isn't it so cool? Why didn't Madara bring something like that out before?"
"Heh, maybe that evil Uchiha thought you weren't worth it."
Even in a dire moment like this, the white-haired one couldn't help but stir the pot.
"Eh… so that's how it is…"
Hashirama's mood instantly dropped. Cartoonish dark lines appeared behind his head as he muttered under his breath, "So Madara was just playing around with me, huh..."
"Kid, no one ever taught you not to space out during a fight?"
A cold voice echoed right beside them.
To their shock, the silver-gray giant had silently appeared right in front of the wooden golem. In Susanoo's "cockpit," Uchiha Tajima stared at them with a deadpan expression.
Madara actually lost to this airheaded kid? Too soft. He definitely needs more training when we get back.
Shhhk shhhk shhhk—
Tobirama was first to react, quickly flinging a handful of kunai at Tajima while simultaneously beginning to weave hand seals.
"Which hand did you use to grab Madara?"
Tajima ignored the incoming kunai—his gaze locked firmly onto Hashirama—as he asked the question coldly.
Wait… why does that sound like a father interrogating a boy for laying hands on his daughter?
Crackle!
The kunai didn't even leave a scratch on Susanoo's armor. Only this white-haired kid would think stabbing Susanoo with kunai was a good idea. Let's just hope he doesn't teach that to his students—it'd be fatal.
"Uh?"
Hashirama, thoroughly confused, raised one of his hands instinctively. The wooden giant mirrored his motion.
Crack!
That same hand was instantly severed. Tajima calmly retracted the silver-gray blade and said flatly, "Next time, keep your hands off my kid."
"Aniki, move!"
After much preparation, Tobirama had finally finished his jutsu. His cheeks puffed like a balloon, compressing a mass of water-nature chakra in his mouth.
Then, with the chakra fully refined, a thin stream of water shot out toward the towering silver giant.
[Suiton: Suidanpa] (Water Style: Severing Wave)
"Huh. That's a nice one."
Tajima's Mangekyō spun briefly, immediately analyzing the strength of Tobirama's jutsu. He decided to humor the effort and had Susanoo raise its left hand. A silver-gray energy shield extended outward.
The water jet, incredibly thin but razor sharp, clipped the wooden golem's head in passing—shearing off a neat portion. Hashirama gulped at the clean cut.
Tobirama's jutsu were getting more and more lethal...
Seeing that Tajima wasn't dodging, Tobirama's eyes gleamed with anticipation.
Heh… die from your arrogance, you evil Uchiha old man! My Suidanpa can cut through anything!
Zzzzzzz—
The high-pressure stream hit the energy shield with a sizzle… but nothing happened. In fact, Tobirama soon realized his attack wasn't just being blocked—it was being absorbed.
Alarmed, he immediately stopped channeling chakra. The jet disappeared.
"Huh? Why'd you stop? With that white hair, I figured you'd have kidney problems—but not this badly. No staying power at all."
Tajima shook his head in mock disappointment. This kid quit too early—his shield hadn't even finished charging.
"Hmph! Typical evil Uchiha, always resorting to cheap talk!"
Tobirama, undefeated in verbal jabs, wiped the corner of his mouth and retorted angrily:
"Keep this up and you won't even make it to your own son's wedding feast!"
"You insolent brat!"
Tajima erupted in fury. No wonder they call you the silver-tongued diva of the Senju—take this!
"Watch out, Aniki!"
Hashirama hurriedly moved the wooden golem to intercept Tajima's furious punch. The two giants clashed instantly, turning the battlefield into chaos.
"All Senju! Fall back! This is not a fight you can be part of!"
Tobirama roared, eyes wide with panic.
Just earlier, Tajima's sword swing had released a shockwave that cleaved the earth behind Tobirama. Several Senju had been too slow to dodge and were instantly reduced to pulp.
The silver-gray giant advanced again. Its enormous blade hacked at the clumsy wooden golem, slicing through it like tofu.
But Hashirama wasn't passive. He countered with a massive punch to Susanoo's chest, the impact sending Tajima's form skidding back dozens of meters.
Hashirama pressed the attack, hurling several wooden dragons, but Tajima raised his shield again, absorbing all of them.
That's when Tobirama finally noticed—Tajima's shield had an energy gauge. Now it was full and glowing intensely.
"Heh, finally charged."
Tajima's expression remained cold, but a faint smile curled his lips as he aimed the glowing shield at Hashirama's golem.
"Aniki, get out of the way!"
Tobirama didn't know what that shield was going to do, but every instinct told him: if Hashirama didn't dodge, he'd die.
BOOM!~~
Hashirama also sensed the catastrophic energy in that glow.
But he couldn't dodge. Too many Senju still stood behind him, watching with hope. If he moved, they'd be obliterated.
After a brief charge-up, a rainbow-colored beam shot from the shield. It contained five elemental forces—wind, fire, earth, lightning, and water—aimed straight at the wooden giant.
[Gojū Rasengomon!] (Fivefold Gate of the Underworld)
Hashirama bit his finger and smeared blood on his palm. His gaze hardened as he slapped both hands on the golem's head.
Dark rifts cracked open in the earth, and five massive gates engraved with demon faces rose one after another. Only when the fifth gate emerged did the tremors subside.
Each gate was different in color and design, standing as a bulwark before the incoming blast.
BOOM!
The first gate was instantly vaporized. The beam tore through the second, then paused briefly at the third—only to punch through again, and then the fourth.
By the time it reached the fifth gate, its power had diminished significantly. Though it struggled for a moment, it still broke through.
Hashirama, seeing the weakened beam, didn't let down his guard. He had the wooden golem catch it with both hands, and with a massive heave, redirected its trajectory.
The beam pierced the sky, dispersing the storm clouds and flooding the battlefield with sunlight.
"Heh heh..."
Hashirama plopped down on top of the golem's head, smiling with deep relief as he stared at the clear blue sky.
"I actually blocked it."
Tajima's shield slowly faded—using it had nearly drained his Mangekyō.
Forcing his aching eyes open, he felt the blood rushing toward them. If he didn't leave soon, he'd be in serious trouble.
"Not bad, Senju brat. Since you withstood that move, I, Uchiha Tajima, recognize your position as the Senju clan head."
