Chapter 258 - 258. Securing the Gold coins

And Kaito's second uncle wasn't worried about the short-term inconvenience. He trusted Kaito's vision. He understood that this land grab wasn't just a personal matter it was a long-term investment that would secure Genesis's position in Glory for years to come.

As for the worry that Kaito might choose the wrong land and their investment could go to waste, it wasn't a problem for his Second Uncle at all. The foresight and insight Kaito had shown until now had already convinced him. He had complete belief in Kaito's judgment. To him, it wasn't all that difficult to select a few prime land slots in a city. After all, even though it had been a long time since he last played any game, he still understood the basics. Glory might be a little different from the older games, but the foundation of gameplay was still similar.

Buying land was something that was always profitable, whether in the real world or inside a game. Land had value, and in Glory it would become one of the most important resources in the future. It was also easy to identify which land would be considered prime land location, access, and potential for development were all clear indicators. Because of this, his Second Uncle wasn't worried at all.

So after thinking for a moment, his Second Uncle said calmly, "Alright, Kaito. Don't worry, I'll send the funds over right now."

Just as his Second Uncle finished speaking, a system prompt popped up in front of Kaito.

[Mailbox: You have received mail from Steady Stone]

This time the notification continued to blink several times in a row. kaito promptly opened his mailbox and saw that he had received six mails in total.

When he opened them, he understood why. Five of the mails each contained 5,000 gold coins, while one additional mail contained 2,842 gold coins. That was because even through the mailbox system, there was a limit on the amount of gold coins you could send in one go. The maximum was 5,000 coins per mail. So his Second Uncle had been forced to split the funds into six mails to send him the full amount.

One by one, Kaito checked the messages, carefully retrieving the gold coins from each. He didn't rush to count them all immediately, but the sight of the shining piles of coins being transferred into his inventory still made his chest feel a little lighter. His Second Uncle had sent him every coin the family could spare at the moment.

Once he finished checking the mailbox, Kaito returned to the communication call and said, "Uncle, I've received the funds."

His Second Uncle gave a small nod. "Good. That should help with your plans."

But Kaito shook his head. His tone grew serious as he added, "Not yet, in addition to this, I think you can check the market. Buy as many gold coins as possible, no matter the price. Even if the price goes above the current market rate, it's fine. Just make sure you buy as much as you can."

Hearing that, his Second Uncle raised his brows slightly. "Above market price?"

"Yes," Kaito confirmed. "The land we'll be buying in the future will give us profits that far outweigh the extra cost right now. "

He knew no matter how expensive the coins seem today, they'll still be cheaper than land prices in the future.

His Second Uncle considered his words carefully, then gave a firm nod. "Alright. I'll check the market directly and see how much I can secure. But don't put too much hope in this. Gold coins are in very short supply right now. It won't be easy to collect a large amount."

Kaito expected that answer and simply nodded. He also wanted as many gold coins as possible, but he wasn't blind to reality.

Right now, Glory wasn't just attracting new players every day it was overflowing with them. Each day, countless new accounts were created, and every one of those players needed gold coins to buy supplies, gear, and training resources.

On top of that, many of the major powers already inside Glory were desperate for large reserves of gold coins. They had hundreds, even thousands of players to maintain, and their supply chains weren't yet perfected like Genesis. That meant they had to buy most of what they needed directly in the market, which drained enormous amounts of gold every single day.

Because of this, any time a large number of gold coins appeared for sale, they would be snapped up instantly. Prices fluctuated constantly, sometimes going up or down by small margins, but they always seemed to settle back to the point of 1 gold coin for 100 credits. This was the average exchange rate everyone in the market recognized, even if for short periods it rose higher or dipped slightly lower.

The reason the price never dropped was simple, the sheer charm of Glory. As more and more players experienced the game, they discovered just how real, vast, and addictive it truly was. The player count was climbing faster than anyone had predicted, and with that growth came an endless demand for in-game currency. Even in his past life, this exchange ratio had only begun to dip after more than two months had passed since Glory's launch and that point in this life was still far away.

That was why Kaito had told his Second Uncle not to hesitate, even if the price went above the market rate. Compared to what land would be worth in the near future, even an inflated cost for gold coins right now would be nothing.

His Second Uncle finally replied, "Ok don't worry. I'll do as you say. I'll buy whatever I can and I'll send everything I secure directly to your mailbox."

"okay," Kaito nodded then said calmly. "Get as much as possible. And as I said even if we have to go above market, it doesn't matter. Once we buy the lands, we'll still come out ahead."

His Second Uncle nodded once more. "Alright. I'll leave now."

With that, their communication ended.

Kaito leaned back for a brief moment, exhaling softly. He knew the situation wasn't going to be easy. The market was already swarming with competition, and gold was scarce. But that was exactly why he had made his decision early. The earlier they moved, the better chance they had of securing enough funds before the floodgates opened even wider.

After collecting his thoughts, he turned back to his mailbox and retrieved all the coins that had been sent.

One by one, he drew them into his inventory, watching the number rise. The sound of coins being added was crisp, a satisfying rhythm that matched the plan unfolding in his mind.

By the time the last mail was emptied, his gold balance had grown once again. Including the 51,632 gold coins he already had, plus the new transfer his Second Uncle had just sent, his total wealth now stood at 79,474 still 10000 away from the target.

After finishing his talk with his Second Uncle and securing the funds, Kaito thought for a while. He knew what he needed to do next. Without wasting any more time, he directly called Zephyr and Velena.

It only took a few seconds for their familiar faces to appear on his interface.

Zephyr was the first to speak. Even though he was still clearly down after receiving the news that he would not be getting the position of president in his guild, he still greeted Kaito with the same cheerful voice as always. "Hey, Brother Raen! What are you doing in Astralis City? How about giving us a tour? Show us around before we make our way over there."

Hearing his words, Kaito gave a small chuckle. He could see that although Zephyr was sad and disappointed deep inside, he was putting on a cheerful front. And in that moment, Kaito's thoughts were confirmed his decision to draw Zephyr into Genesis was the right one. Zephyr's personality was steady, loyal, and dependable, and those qualities were exactly what Genesis needed.

But Kaito didn't agree to the request immediately. "Not right now," he replied with a small smile. "I'm busy with something at the moment. If I finish early, I'll give you both a tour. If not, then you'll just have to come here and see for yourselves.
