As soon as the three grand announcements faded, a faint glow appeared before each of them.
[System Prompt]
You have been awarded 5 unassigned attribute points.
Each of them got the attribute points on thier panels, the system quietly crediting the bonus for clearing the dungeon. But before anyone could even assign their points, something else appeared in front of them wheels of light.
The lottery wheels.
Each one was glowing with runes, divided into countless shimmering slots. Weapons, armor, accessories gear unique to each player's class spun slowly on the wheel's surface, waiting for their touch.
Hiroto rubbed his palms together, grinning. "Alright, I'll go first!"
Before anyone could stop him, he slapped his hand against the glowing wheel. The runes whirled instantly, shining brighter as the wheel spun faster and faster. Everyone leaned in, watching closely.
Hiroto's wheel was filled with Knight gear. Heavy swords glimmered in gold, towering shields rotated into sight, and even hidden-class weapons like lances and hammers flickered past. Armor sets shone brilliantly chest plates, greaves, gauntlets all tailored for a front-line Knight.
The pointer slowed.
The wheel creaked to a stop, the glowing arrow settling firmly on a golden chest plate.
Before anyone could get a closer look, the wheel flashed brilliantly and vanished in a burst of light. Left in Hiroto's hands was a gleaming chest plate, radiating golden brilliance.
Everyone instantly used their observation skills. The panel appeared:
….
[Aegisheart Chestplate] (Gold)
Level Requirement: 15
Defense: +118
Magical Resistance: +38
Strength: +12
Endurance: +8
Special Passive: Hearty Resolve
Effect: Increases maximum HP by 500 and reduces all incoming physical damage by 5%.
…
The glow of the equipment reflected in Hiroto's wide eyes. For a moment, the entire team was silent, stunned.
Even Kaito, who had already seen countless rare items in his past life, felt a jolt in his chest. This was true Gold-rank equipment. Compared to the Silver gear they had been using, this chest plate was leagues ahead. The raw stats alone would make any Knight unshakable on the front. And the special passive effect of the hearty resolve was something that was immensely beneficial for the MT's.
That was the kind of ability that could decide life or death, whether against a dungeon boss or another player.
Hiroto's hands trembled as he held the chest plate. Then, without hesitation, he equipped it. Golden light surged over his body as the armor locked into place, perfectly fitted. His silhouette grew even more imposing, his aura as a tank rising to a new level.
"Damn…" Kaede muttered under his breath, unable to hide the envy in his eyes.
Daichi gave a sharp whistle. "Talk about luck. That's better than anything we've seen so far."
Lucien's usual calm faltered, his eyes narrowing at the glow. Even he couldn't scoff at such a piece.
Others also, who had just finished steadying their breathing from the fight, looked at the chest plate in awe.
Hiroto puffed his chest proudly, though his grin gave away his excitement.
The tension of the fight had faded slightly, replaced by excitement. One by one, the others turned to their own lottery wheels.
Kaede flexed his hands. Nina leaned forward with bright eyes. Daichi smirked, though the way he rubbed his palms betrayed his anticipation. Suzune already had her hand raised. Aika smiled nervously, but determination shone in her eyes.
All of them were eager. If Hiroto's chest plate was this strong, what would their Gold-ranked gear be?
Kaito, however, didn't rush. His eyes remained fixed on the shimmering wheel before him, which contained gear tailored for a Magic Swordsman. Swords, light armor, pendants, rings, even rare cloaks all glimmered in gold.
He drew in a slow breath, calming himself. It was time for his turn.
Kaito placed his hand on the glowing wheel before him and clicked the Spin option.
The Wheel of Lottery began to turn. At first it moved slowly, each slot visible as swords, armor pieces, necklaces, rings, and cloaks rolled past the pointer one by one. But within seconds, the wheel gained speed. Soon it spun so fast that even Kaito, with his Rank 1 Martial Artist physique, couldn't follow the blur of equipment flashing by. It was as if the wheel had become a streak of light.
Five long seconds passed before it finally began to slow. The blur broke apart, and once again the individual pieces of gear became clear. One by one they passed the pointer at the top of the wheel swords with shining edges, breastplates glowing faintly, pendants etched with runes, and rings that sparkled with power.
Kaito's eyes locked onto one sword in particular. It gleamed with thunder, arcs of lightning crawling across its blade as if alive. For a moment his pulse quickened. A Gold-rank weapon like that could change anyone's fate.
But then his excitement faded into mild disappointment. He already had the Solstice Blade and the Dragon Fang Blade both powerful enough to carry him far. Adding another sword would only force him to decide which one to replace, and he wasn't sure he wanted that headache.
He sighed softly, already preparing himself to check its stats later and make the choice. But before he could finish that thought, the wheel ticked past the thunder sword.
The pointer stopped landing not on the sword, but on the item right after it.
A ring.
The wheel froze, glowing brightly before dissolving into light. A small golden ring materialized in Kaito's palm, warm against his skin.
For a moment, Kaito blinked in surprise. He hadn't expected this outcome, but the corners of his mouth curved upward. A ring meant he wouldn't have to struggle over his swords, no endless weighing of pros and cons or wondering if he should give up Dragon Fang. This solved the problem neatly.
He chuckled to himself, shaking his head. "Guess that saves me the trouble."
If anyone else had heard his thoughts right then, they'd probably have cursed him for being unreasonable.
