Chapter 5 - Leclerc's Offer to Jean

At X Academy, Professor X was monitoring the multidimensional chat channel, but his gentle smile gradually faded as he read Stryker's message.

[Professor X]: Stryker… You've gone too far!

[Magneto]: Sewer rat! Do you have a death wish?! @Obama, give me the location of that rat's base—now! And if you don't… No, forget that. I'll come visit you myself in a moment!

As the saying goes, "Trouble may fall upon you even when you're at home."Obama, who was working in the White House, stared at his device in bewilderment after Magneto's message, a confused look on his face.

After all, he was just a president controlled by capital from behind the scenes and didn't even know where Stryker's base was.

And even if he did know, would he dare disclose it in a global chat? He's still a head of state—have some dignity, man!

[Obama]: I'm the President of the United States! I won't bow to a villain like you!

[Professor X]: Erik, you've gone too far! You can't threaten a president! I believe the military would be more than happy to deal with those criminals who've been experimenting on humans lately.

[Lady Phoenix, Jean]: People like Stryker are the very reason citizens suffer. It's an unforgivable crime!

Despite the condemnation from mutants, Stryker showed no concern. As a radical supremacist, he hated mutants to his core and wished for their extermination.

Why would he back down in the face of threats?

[Stryker]: Hmph! You're all just monsters! Mutants are monsters! They shouldn't exist in this world! Just wait! When my plan succeeds… not a single mutant will remain alive!

[Cyclops]: If you've got any courage, give me your address!

[Wolverine]: Stryker, if you still consider yourself a soldier, give me your location and I'll take you down myself!

[Stryker]: Keep dreaming! You won't find me before my plan is complete!

Amid this rising tension, Isaac Leclerc suddenly decided to divert the conversation in a completely different direction, taking advantage of the chaos.

[Isaac Leclerc]: Hmm? @Jean, beautiful lady, how old are you this year? Interested in changing jobs?

[Jean]: ???

Jean was startled by the message. There had never been any interaction between them—let alone being in the same universe—so why the sudden recruitment attempt?

[Jean]: Sir, that's… rather rude.

[Isaac Leclerc]: It's simple. I'd like to invite you to join the Celestial Dome. In return, I could provide you with some information… like Stryker's location and his entire plot.

Isaac wasn't bluffing. He had a solid reason for recruiting her—he possessed something called the "Organization Login System."

As the name suggests, the stronger the organization under his control, the better the login rewards he received.

And Jean, as the Phoenix, was a cosmic-level powerhouse.

If he could recruit someone of her caliber into his organization, wouldn't his annual rewards multiply severalfold?

In fact, thinking about it now, Isaac realized that the emergence of the Marvel List wasn't a curse—but a hidden blessing!

[Jean]: This is…

Jean didn't agree right away. She wasn't the type to join an unknown organization so easily—especially when they weren't even in the same universe.

[Human Torch]: Have you all gone off-topic? Did no one notice how weird this reward is? A resurrection card? That's divine power! And by divine, I don't mean Thor with his mild case of insanity—I mean an actual god!

[Thor]: Mortal! Are you questioning the God of Thunder?!

Thor exploded in rage in the chat. As a man of more muscle than wit, he wasn't skilled in witty replies. And since he couldn't punch anyone, all he could do was yell.

Loki, standing nearby, couldn't help but shake his head. "Is this really the future king of Asgard? What a disgrace."

The same thought crossed the mind of Odin, who was watching the chat with his wife in silence.

On the other side of the world, with eyes watching from every corner, Nick Fury was struggling with a serious dilemma: should he choose the resurrection card, or the physical enhancement?

Some political figures immediately voiced their opinions:

[Walker]: @Nick Fury, take the resurrection card! It's priceless! We can use it for research! America needs it!

[Alexander Pierce]: Nick, the resurrection card is far more valuable than physical enhancement. Developing the super soldier serum is only a matter of time.

But Nick Fury, staring at his screen, simply ignored the two messages and decisively selected "One-Time Physical Enhancement."

The resurrection card was extremely tempting—but it was also a recipe for disaster.

As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he was keenly aware of the global chaos that small card would cause.

It was practically a second chance at life. The world's richest and most powerful politicians would fight each other like animals to possess it.

Frankly, that resurrection card was a ticking time bomb—and there was no way he was going to choose it.

In his eyes, it was nothing but a seed of total chaos.

And as the one responsible for global security, he wouldn't let the world burn for it.
