I turned to Nuala, confusion and frustration clear in my voice. "What have I done wrong? Why is he so angry?"
She sighed softly, taking my hand gently and guiding me to sit down. "Calm down first," she said, handing me a glass of water.
I took a sip, my mind still racing with questions.
"I won't say much or take sides," Nuala continued quietly. "But you should know Evric by now… he's an overthinker. Maybe I'm too young to understand everything fully, but I wish Chrisly were here, he'd make this easier."
I looked at her, encouraging her to speak.
"From what I gathered from your argument earlier, he probably felt hurt, like you pushed him away."
"Away"
"Yeah, I think he's upset because you left his side to meet someone else. In his mind, that means you don't care or don't see him as important."
I shook my head firmly. "That's not true. Evric means everything to me. I care about him deeply."
