Chapter 342 - Marvel Universe

Chapter 1: Marvel Universe

After returning to the Planet of Destruction Gods, Tachibana Kyūjō spent several days in quiet contemplation. In the end, he made up his mind to face the trial that the Dragon God Zalama had prepared for him.

A few days later, Kyūjō once again set foot upon the Super Dragon Ball. Before he could even do anything, the colossal Dragon Ball reacted on its own, drawing his body inside.

This time, however, what appeared before him was only the massive golden gate he had seen once before, right before he left.

Without hesitation, Kyūjō stepped forward and pushed the gate open, then walked inside…

Earth, Himalayan Mountains – Marvel Universe

At the peak of one of the tallest mountains, a woman sat cross-legged in absolute silence, deep in meditation. She was the Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme.

Suddenly, her eyes snapped open as she gazed toward the sky, as if peering through layers of reality itself.

Within her pupils reflected stars, planets, the past, and the future of the universe. Nothing escaped that gaze.

"This strange energy again…" she murmured softly.

"A supreme god from a major world within the multiverse… What exactly are you planning?"

September 10th, 2008 – Night

Florida, United States – St. Paul Orphanage

A young boy with light tan skin and short black hair, standing at roughly 140 centimeters tall, was climbing out from the fourth floor of the orphanage building.

Without any safety equipment whatsoever, he landed smoothly on the ground in mere seconds, then disappeared into the darkness of the night.

That boy was Tachibana Kyūjō—someone who had come from the Dragon Ball world.

In this world, he had another name—Blake Thorne.

— — —

It had been ten years since he arrived in this world. And tonight, for the very first time, Blake had killed someone… and it wasn't just anyone.

His parents in this world had been a pair of young illegal immigrants who eventually couldn't even support themselves. In the end, they abandoned Blake in front of St. Paul Orphanage when he was still just a baby.

The name "Blake Thorne" wasn't given by them—it was bestowed by the orphanage's former headmaster, an old man who had taken care of him with genuine kindness. Unfortunately, that man had died in a car accident just last month.

His replacement was a vile man… one whose neck now lay broken in Blake Thorne's own hands.

Just recalling that man's face made Blake feel nauseous.

If only that bastard hadn't done something so disgusting tonight… maybe Blake could've stayed at the orphanage for a few more years.

What exactly did that man do?

Earlier that night, after Blake finished dinner with his friends at the orphanage, the old man had called him into his room.

That filthy pervert had been captivated by Blake's good looks and planned to "have some fun" with the gentle, young Blake…

But Blake wasn't an ordinary child. With strength far beyond what a ten-year-old body should possess, he snapped the man's neck in an instant.

Now Blake felt irritated—and confused. What exactly was Dragon God Zalama's intention in sending him to this world?

Ten years ago, after opening that gate inside the Super Dragon Ball, he had been reborn into the Marvel world. Yes, there was no doubt about it—this was the Marvel Universe.

How did he know?

Simple. The television news talked every day about mutants, and about the extravagant lifestyle of a certain famous playboy—Tony Stark. If that still wasn't enough of a hint, then Blake would have to be an idiot.

Still, the power structure and systems of the Marvel world were vastly different from his previous one.

Blake could still use Breathing Techniques and the energy known as "Ki" from the Dragon Ball world, but abilities like Haki, Chakra, or Cursed Energy simply wouldn't work here at all.

That said, he understood why.

Breathing Techniques were purely physical training methods. After modifying them, Blake had managed to adapt these techniques to various forms of cross-world energy—though they were still limited to enhancing the physical body.

As for "Ki," it technically existed in the Marvel world as well. There were a few extraordinary individuals who used similar energy in combat. However, without Saiyan blood, its growth rate was painfully slow.

On top of that, his current body was still that of a ten-year-old child, not yet fully developed. He couldn't train nearly as intensely as he once had.

If his strength were measured in battle power numbers, it would probably be just a little over one hundred.

That number would be absolute trash in the Dragon Ball world. But at the start of the Marvel timeline? It was enough to survive… probably.

As long as he didn't run into a final boss or some freak with bizarre powers, he should be able to stay alive…

Shaking his head, Blake ran through the night, heading toward the nearest airport.

He still didn't know what kind of trial Dragon God Zalama had prepared for him, nor how he was supposed to understand "Freedom Instinct."

But he didn't want to overthink it.

He was already here, after all. Why not just enjoy himself?

To him, time no longer held much meaning.

— — —

To be honest, Blake liked this world. Back when he lived on Earth, he'd been a huge fan of the Avengers movies.

Now that he was truly inside the Marvel Universe, he wanted to see those legendary figures with his own eyes—heroes he had once only watched on a screen.

His current destination was New York City—the most chaotic city in the entire history of the Marvel world.

Frankly speaking, Blake felt a bit sorry for the civilians who lived there permanently. From alien invasions to super-powered heroes turning the city into a battlefield, their lives were practically gambles with death every single day.

Anyone who chose to stay in New York had to be truly brave.

— — —

The Next Morning

Sneaking onto a plane using Air Step, Blake arrived in Queens, New York.

He could have flown there himself, but that would've been way too exhausting.

Queens was the largest and second most populous district in New York City. Beneath its glittering surface, however, it was also infamous as one of the largest crime hubs in the entire United States.

If there was any place that could be called a gathering of all the world's filth, Queens would be it.

Every form of crime—ranging from theft and drug trafficking to human trafficking—could happen at any time.

And the reason Blake came here?

Simple.

Because chaos was exactly what drew him in.
