Chapter 9 – The Special Grade Curse Spirit

Inside a warm and cozy two-story home, Zenin Kyūjō faced the three women sitting before him.
With a calm voice and a serious expression, he finally explained what he had been hiding all along.
"Actually, I was born with the memories of someone else... In my previous life, my name was Tachibana Kyūjō. You could say I was a Jujutsu Sorcerer back then too. That's how I was able to defeat Zenin Ogi. But don't worry—I'm still the same Zenin Kyūjō you've always known."
"I didn't take you away from the Zenin Clan just out of gratitude for how you cared for me all these years. I did it because I couldn't stand their arrogance any longer. You're my family. No matter what happens, as long as I live… I'll protect you."
"I kept it all a secret because I didn't want to draw attention. I'm sorry... for hiding it from you for so long."
He bowed deeply to them.
His words sounded like something out of a fairy tale… and yet, somehow, the three women began to accept it.
After all, no matter how strange it sounded, their lives now were undeniably better than the suffocating days under the Zenin Clan's rule.

Kyūjō scratched his head awkwardly as he looked at Zenin Arisa, still choosing to call her that.

Even the Six-Eyed sorcerer, Satoru Gojo, might not have done something this insane at Kyūjō's age. (Not that anyone's keeping score.)
What no one outside the clan knew… was that Kyūjō had also defeated Zenin Naobito, the clan head.
If that got out, headlines would probably scream:

But while his name spread like wildfire across the Jujutsu world…
Kyūjō himself lived peacefully in Tokyo with his family, enjoying two full years of quiet, uneventful days.

Zenin Kyūjō was in the kitchen, preparing a home-cooked Japanese dinner for the girls in the house, when a sudden message popped up on his phone.
It was from Zenin Mai.
> "Kyūjō! There's a Cursed Spirit at school! It's super strong!!"

In just over a minute, Kyūjō launched himself into the sky, his footwork slicing through the air with explosive force as he soared above the school building.
The technique he used was a custom variation of Geppo – Moonwalk, one of the Rokushiki martial arts from the world of One Piece. Even though this world didn't have Haki, Kyūjō relied solely on his monstrous physical strength.
By reinforcing his body with raw power, he could literally run through the air and arrive on-site in seconds.

"Yuta… Yuta… no one touches Yuta!!"
A massive claw—gray, bone-plated, and razor-sharp—burst out of the classroom wall, slamming into a blond delinquent student.
Crunch.
With a sickening impact, the boy was instantly reduced to a heap of blood and broken limbs.
Bits of flesh and torn school uniform clung to the cursed claws.
The other students screamed in terror, unable to comprehend the horrific scene unfolding before them.
Why couldn't they understand?
Because normal people couldn't see Cursed Spirits.
Outside the classroom, Mai clamped her hands over her mouth, eyes wide with dread.
"A… A Special Grade Cursed Spirit!?"

This was way beyond anything Mai had anticipated.
Just after the final bell rang, she'd seen a group of bullies picking on a quiet boy with soft features. Her sense of justice kicked in, and she was about to intervene…
But then—a wave of pressure from something monstrous pinned her in place.
She knew her limits.
Without hesitation, she pulled out her phone and messaged Kyūjō for help.
But she hadn't expected this.
The cursed spirit was terrifying—far more powerful than she'd imagined.
Even though she knew Kyūjō was strong, fighting a Special Grade was a whole different matter. She wasn't sure if even he could handle it.
She began crawling along the floor of the corridor, inching away from the scene.
Her heart was filled with guilt.
This is my fault. I woke this thing up.
Her only hope now was that Kyūjō wouldn't arrive in time.
She didn't want him to see this thing.
Didn't want him to get dragged into something this dangerous.
But it was already too late.
Zenin Kyūjō was behind her.
He picked Mai up from the ground with one hand, his voice steady and cold.
"Mai, go home. I'll handle this. That thing laid a hand on my sister. I don't care if it's a Special Grade or not… I'm killing it."

Mai's heart skipped a beat.
He had descended like a god from the heavens.
Even though she blushed slightly at being called his "sister," there was something reassuring about the way he said it.
She didn't want to be a burden.
Without wasting another second, she turned around and sprinted toward the school gates.
Behind her… the battle was about to begin.
