Chapter 86: Dark Lord Vs Dark Lord Part 1

Voldemort stopped all of a sudden and gave his followers a signal to do the same.

From the sides of Azkaban, countless shadows began to emerge as the temperature dipped.

"Dementors… My Lord." Wormtail gripped his wand tightly.

These creatures could be a big problem for them. The Patronus was not something that the average Death Eater could use, since it required extreme positive emotions.

Voldemort had other tools to deal with them, but the rest of them were not that versatile.

"There is something else flying above us. And those are not dementors." Bellatrix Lestrange glanced at the blue-winged creatures observing them from a good distance.

"Do nothing. It will not come to that." Voldemort instructed his followers as he alone approached the roof and touched its stone surface with his feet.

Just then, the door opened and someone walked outside.

A wizard wrapped in black robes, with dark hair and a vibrant pair of red eyes, which used to be green.

"Well, look who came to visit. The glorious Lord Voldemort that everyone seems to be afraid of." Harry's tone carried a lot of mockery in it.

Voldemort stared into Harry's eyes.

Both of them could feel the other trying to gain access into each other's mind, but they were kept away by their own defenses.

"I can see that you have wasted no time delving into the most forbidden aspects of magic," Voldemort commented, noting the color in Harry's eyes and the complete change in his magic.

What was once an aura that gave the sense of gentleness and kindness was now filled with hatred, disdain… and an absolute will to destroy everything in one's path.

Harry peeked at Voldemort's feet, now touching the roof of his fortress. This mere act already filled him with anger. "That is very rude. I have not permitted you to step onto my house."

"My Lord!" Bellatrix warned him when she spotted something moving in the shadows. Her wand was immediately pointed in that general direction.

These were the shadow demons. They were hiding inside the darkness and would not show themselves until it was time to strike. Unfortunately, there was still a sliver of sunlight left, preventing them from approaching further as they could only move in the darkness.

Even with this limitation, Harry particularly liked these demons, as they were very obedient and meticulous when following his orders.

He couldn't say the same about the imps and dreagnauts, and that's why they remain down below. He would only call on them if it became absolutely necessary.

Voldemort had only brought a handful of Death Eaters, and Harry had the advantage here, so he wasn't too worried about this encounter.

"Stop, Bella," Voldemort called. "I said to do nothing! Unless I order it, I don't want anyone taking action."

"Don't tell me that you actually came here to talk… because that would be very disappointing." Harry continued to provoke his opponent. It wasn't like he was planning on letting him go, now that he had come all the way to his fortress… that would be a wasted opportunity.

To be fair, he hadn't thought much about this man since the day of his return.

Lord Voldemort was a very important figure for the original Harry Potter, but to him, he was just a mild annoyance that he would have taken out sooner or later.

"Talk?" Voldemort glared back at him. "No, but I was going to suggest ending this with a wizard duel, just you and I."

Harry's expression turned into a wide grin before he could help himself, and he began to laugh. "Hahahaha! You want a duel?!" This was an unexpected offer.

Voldemort frowned. He would never take kindly to such disrespect.

His followers all glanced at him with concern, wondering if they were going to see their Lord finally snap.

"I don't see what is so amusing about my proposal. We both have followers at our side. But there is no need to get them entangled in our affairs. This can be solved between the two of us. Of course, unless… You don't feel capable of facing me directly and prefer to hide behind your demons."

"You want to provoke me with cheap words? I have nothing to prove to you." Harry lifted his left hand. "Just a snap of my fingers and all your followers will fall like the flies they are."

"How dare you!" Bella clenched her teeth and was about to move her wand and curse Harry, when someone grabbed her arm.

"Control yourself!" Snape took hold of her. "Are you trying to disobey our Lord's will?"

This made her stop. "Tsk…"

Voldemort simply waited for a moment while trying to hide the grin on his face, as he already knew that his taunt had worked perfectly.

"Hmph! You know what? Fine. You can have your duel." Harry walked closer and pulled his own wand. "I will tear you to pieces while your minions watch in attention. This world doesn't need two Dark Lords after all."

Voldemort made a gesture with his hand, telling his followers to move back. "Give us some space."

Harry did the same, and all his demons cleared the roof.

The two Dark Lords moved to the center and faced each other.

But then, Voldemort pulled something from his robes and threw it at Harry's feet.

This one didn't move because he hadn't detected any aggressive intent from Voldemort when he did this.

The object that was thrown was a black glass orb that promptly crashed onto the ground and shattered completely.

Harry wasn't sure what to make of this.

"That orb used to contain a prophecy involving Harry Potter and myself." Voldemort said in a calm tone. "I was once obsessed with it… for a very long time, I thought that prophecy was going to be the end of me."

The Dark Lord's eyes moved to Harry. "The orb turning dark apparently means that the prophecy is no longer valid… or at least, that's what my contact at the Department of Mysteries told me as he handed the orb to me."

'A prophecy?.' Harry had no idea there was such a thing. There was nothing about a prophecy in the memories he acquired from the original one. Meaning that he didn't know either.

"At first, I didn't understand the reason. After all, the prophecy was not fulfilled; otherwise, the glass orb would have become clear… empty. I have been going over what occurred during the night of my return, at that cemetery, because I thought that's where the answer was. And I was correct."

"I thought we were going to duel, not have a chat." Harry pointed out.

Voldemort glared at him and ignored his comment. "The reason this prophecy is no longer valid is that Harry Potter no longer exists! It took me a while, but I think I finally figured out your real identity."
