Ivan turned his head slightly and pressed a gentle kiss to her palm, whispering back, "I don't know, Eve… It's strange…yet painfully familiar."
She gave him a small, slow nod.
He continued to stare deeply into her eyes before wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into his chest. He let out another sigh. "I wish someone could answer all of our questions."
Eve sank deeper into the warmth of his embrace, clutching the back of his shirt. In a soft voice, she murmured, "That man…he was Kai."
Ivan's brows shot up at the revelation, the pieces beginning to fall into place. So that was the man she had been calling out to…the name of the man who looked exactly like him. He didn't know what to feel about it, but he instinctively tightened his hold on her.
As for him, he had seen visions of a golden-haired woman before, but he couldn't recall her name…at least, not when he was awake.
