As the night carried forward after the little interaction between Ivan and Evelyn, away from prying eyes. Rumours about everything that happened that day in the potion making class spread throughout the academy. Every student had only one thing to discuss, how Prince Ivan attacked a human woman for daring to launch an acid attack on him and his assigned partner, Princess Evelyn.
But the biggest shock came when the supposedly powerless princess unleashed her dormant powers, when it escalated to the point when Prince Ivan was on a verge to destroy the entire classroom.
Some students were in awe, partly because the princess had the power to stop Ivan before the situation escalated further and partly disappointed because they missed one of the most dramatic scenes at the start of the semester. Meanwhile, others shuddered at the thought of sharing a classroom with an unhinged, provoked and extremely dangerous prince.
In a far-off corner of another side of the wing where the other noble's rooms were located. Drake sat leisurely on his room couch with a half naked woman on his lap, his face buried in the crook of her neck as he continued to feast on her blood.
She moaned when he pressed his fingers into her butt, giving it a squeeze as he savoured the last of her blood. After some time, he withdrew his fangs and gave her neck a slow, nasty lick. She shuddered in response.
The woman was a human named Kayla with brown hair and black eyes.
Drake then gave her a wicked smile and said, "How about you go grab something to eat? I will see you later okay." She blushed deeply, gave him a quick nod and pulled up her dress to cover her breasts before leaving.
Drake leaned back on the coach, a glass of wine in his hand as he watched the woman leave. His thoughts went back to when he saw Evelyn in the courtyard, he hadn't been able to stop thinking about her. He had begun selectively choosing women to serve him, ones who even remotely resembled her. But nothing ever satisfied him, because his mind was already obsessed with his new target.
She was so ethereal to look at, he just knew her blood would taste better than anything he had ever experienced and the pleasure of taking her would be unmatched. Just thinking about her aroused him.
He wanted her all to himself.
After some time, his friend Gabe entered the room and recounted the entire incident that had taken place earlier that afternoon involving Evelyn and Ivan.
His blood suddenly boiled at the thought of Ivan being in such close proximity to Evelyn. He wanted to be assigned as her buddy, no one else, and definitely not Ivan, whom he considered his biggest rival.
He hated Ivan for having it all. From looks to status and the way every woman fawned over him as if he were the ultimate price.
Now that Evelyn was assigned as Ivan's partner, it made him restless. He felt time slipping through his fingers and his prey drifting further and further away.
'No, I have to make a move as soon as possible. Before that bastard sets his eyes on my prey!' he growled inwardly as the visions of Ivan touching her filled his mind.
The guy named Gabe, who gave Drake the full update on the events said, "I know the Lumen Princess caught your interest. You'll need to act fast, Drake, she's Prince Ivan's partner now and if she catches his interest, she'll practically become untouchable.. at least until he loses interest."
Drake threw his glass angrily on the floor, staining it red as wine splattered everywhere, making Gabe flinch. He then responded in a voice full of malice, "Even if she catches Ivan's interest, I was the first to set my eyes on her and I will have her in every way! She's mine!." He slammed his fist on the table, knocking over a bottle.
Gabe threw up his hands in defence and said, "Okay, okay calm down, will you? Just tell me the plan. I'll help you."
Drake ran his hand through his grey hair and looked at Gabe, he then said, "There's a ball coming up. The Blood Moon Masquerade on Sunday, I'll make my move there." He smirked menacingly, eyes gleaming with dark intent, and began to lay out the entire plan to Gabe.
The night passed with one plotting to claim what wasn't his, while the other two royals quietly resolved to keep as much distance between them, to avoid attracting any more trouble into their lives.
Next morning, Eve woke up from dreamless sleep and got ready to start a new day.
She wore one of the academy's uniforms designed for women attending physical education class. The outfit featured a tailored black long coat that flowed all the way to the ankle, adorned with gold leaf embroidery. While the side flowed into a sheer black drape stopping above the ankle, adding softness to the structured silhouette. It was paired with crisp white pants and black ankle boots embroidered in gold, adding a sophisticated and regal look.
Eve braided her hair from the sides and tied them all together into a neat medium ponytail. As she made her way to the dining hall, heads turned to stare at her.
People didn't just stare at her because she looked absolutely exquisite in her uniform, but also because of everything that happened the day before.
After Evelyn served herself some breakfast, she tried to focus on finishing it as fast as possible so that she could escape everyone's gaze. She sat at one side of the table, quietly pouring herself some tea and wishing someone to magically appear to make them stop staring so blatantly.
And as if the gods answered her prayers, the students immediately averted their gaze. She blinked, surprised by the sudden shift.
She wondered, 'Wow, what just happened? Did my wish just get answered? Don't tell me it was my power that made them avert their gaze…hmm is that even possible...' She was about to continue her train of thought when a chair scraped beside her. Someone pulled it out with an air of quiet confidence that made her stomach tighten.
She snapped her head towards the source, already half expecting who it might be.
