Chapter 44 - Where Did This Arm Came From?

✦✦✦━━━━━━✦✦✦

Hours later, Hao Yun slowly opened his eyes. Feeling still a bit dizzy.

Slowly, he moved his body and pressed his left hand against his forehead.

"Wait! Where does my left hand come from? Didn't it get chopped off?"

Hao Yun stood up. There were no visible wounds on his body. He wondered how that was possible.

He took a glance at his system panel logs.

[Rengeneration in effect...]

[Regeneration successful]

[Regeneration entered cooldown period: 2 days, 17 hours left.]

It was due to his regeneration trait that he obtained from the Bifi's inheritance. If not for this, he would have to spend his life as a handicapped person.

Then...

He slowly walked over to the village.

CLANK-CLANK....

From behind the bushes, Hao Yun looked at a bizarre scene. All the villagers were armed with things like old guns, shovels, and wooden sticks. It looked like they had picked up whatever they found. Their faces were those of soldiers who were about to go to war.

Ready for their death... to protect the people behind them.

Hao Yun stepped out of the bushes.

Shocked. The people couldn't believe their eyes.

From behind the crowd, the Bartender rushed ahead. His eyes were wet, his hands were shaking. The Bartender who once served his signature cocktail to Hao Yun wasn't the same person anymore.

"What happened? Why are you so tense?" Hao Yun asked him.

The Bartender then revealed that last night, when he was about to sleep, a sudden wave of pressure spread throughout the whole village. Everyone was scared.

They knew it was the aura of some monster.

The fear of being wiped out shook their bones.

However, they didn't want to accept it as their fate. So, they sent the weaker ones to shelter, and the rest picked up whatever they found to save their village.

However, even after standing at guard for the whole night, nothing came out.

Hao Yun sighed.

"Haah... I likely killed that monster. So, you don't have to worry anymore."

Once again, the Bartender was shocked.

He immediately told the villagers.

Everyone became emotional. Some even cried in joy.

One group then approached Hao Yun, carried him on their shoulders, and walked around while singing a song in their regional language.

Hao Yun didn't understand anything, but he knew what they were doing and why.

Immediately after this, the villagers decided to hold a banquet. But Hao Yun couldn't attend it.

He asked the Bartender to explain them.

Clack-Clack-Clack...

Abruptly, a familiar loud noise hit Hao Yun's ears. He looked above, a big chopper was landing in the village's farm.

Out of it came four people, two men in black suits, with custom guns hanging at their hips, the third one was a woman, who looked like she came straight out of some company's office. The fourth one was the pilot.

All four rushed towards the Bartender and said something to him in Russian. Their face were anxious. But the Bartender had returned to his old, careless, and elegant self.

After a brief conversation, he points at Hao Yun, confusing him.

Instantly, the four of them approached him and said a lot of things, but he couldn't comprehend even a single word of them.

He turned toward the Bartender, asking him what was happening and who these people were.

With a warm smile, the Bartender said, "They are expressing their gratitude to you."

"Oh, right! I didn't introduce myself. I am Minjae Morozov, the founder of the Mozorov group of hotels and bars."

Hao Yun was dumbfounded, "What? Mozorov? Is that the 5-star Hotel Chain that boasts its luxury hospitality and 5000 branches in 100 countries?"

"If you were such an affluent person, why were you making cocktails at the plane's bar?" He asked.

Minjae Morozov explained that he was just trying to make a good drink for himself at the time, but when Hao Yun sat in front of him, he couldn't help but make his signature drink to serve him.

Finally, Hao Yun understood. He had saved an out-of-the-ordinary person. But it turned out good. Thanks to him, Hao Yun could get out of this village and reach Irkutsk.

"Shall we go?" Minjae asked Hao Yun.

The two of them then stepped into the Chopper.

Its propellers began moving. The wind gust it created was so strong that the nearby people were being pushed back.

In no time, it took off and vanished in the vast sky.

After an hour, they reached the city of Irkutsk. A big trading center of Siberia. In the sea, cargo ships were kept coming and going, and on the highways, there were more trucks than cars. The city was brimming with people who came from all around the world for business.

Among dozens of tall buildings and skyscrapers, Minjae's Chopper landed on the roof of the tallest building.

As soon as he walked out of his Chopper, Minjae's attitude once again changed. He had taken a prideful stance. His face had no expression, no joy, no sadness, just neutral.

Hao Yun stared at him for some moments, but he didn't have enough time to probe further into him.

He didn't waste any more of his time and asked Minjae, "Do you know about the highest peak of Siberia that fell from an explosion?" Minjae glanced at Hao Yun, whose face was serious, and he only wished to reach his destination.

Minjae decided to respect his wish; he told his lady subordinate something in Russian. She then rushed to the lower floors, as if she was going to bring something back.

Hao Yun didn't ask anything. And just waited.

After coming here, he had realized that language isn't that much of a barrier. As long as a person shows emotion, the other can understand to a certain extent what they are trying to say.

Soon, the lady subordinate returned. She brought a young Korean man with her.

The man wore a black and white suit with sleek black leather shoes. His hair was combed back, and he wore eyeglasses.

Minjae finally broke his silence, "Hao Yun, this is Lee Jun; he will take you to your destination. I would have liked to lend you my Chopper, but it's a shame your destination doesn't allow it."

"What?" Hao Yun didn't understand what he tried to say.

Lee Jun took a step ahead, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Hao Yun. I'll do my best to accompany you on our trip."

"Ah! I'm looking forward to it." Hao Yun was excited. He didn't expect he would receive such help in a foreign country as well.

Hours later, Hao Yun had made some preparations, and he had bought the necessary supplies for his survival.

Honk! Honk!

Lee Jun came with a rugged custom off-road SUV. "Mr. Hao Yun, get into it."

Hao Yun was overjoyed, "Lee Jun, you're so smart. With this car, we won't face much trouble on our travels."

He stuffed his bag in the car's boot space and sat next to Lee Jun.

VROOOM!

Finally, Hao Yun departed for his destination.

"Wait! Nobody told me where we are going?" Hao Yun had a sudden realization. He didn't notice this before, but nobody told him where the highest peak is that fell.

With a smug face, Lee Jun said in a loud and excited tone, "Isn't that obvious? We're going to the Eastern Sayan Mountains!"
