Chapter 8 - The Romance of Ancol

Lobby – 08:58 AM

The members of Oblivion had all gathered in the lobby.

Axel, his hair a mess and eyes half-lidded, kept yawning every few seconds. Leo was deep in conversation with Zoi, going over the event rundown for Ancol. Rei sat quietly in the corner with his earphones in, replaying their latest track.

Robin stood beside one of the black vans already waiting outside, double-checking the security team and making sure everything was running according to schedule.

A few fans were already peeking through the dormitory fence—despite no official announcement about the group's destination. Somehow, fans always knew.

Moments later, Hanu appeared—now in full makeup and his signature idol casual wear: an oversized white T-shirt, ripped jeans, spotless white sneakers, and his hair styled in a messy-but-intentional look.

Robin stared for a second. Damn... how can someone transform that much in just one hour?

"Why are you looking at me like I'm an alien?" Hanu whispered as they passed each other.

"Not an alien," Robin replied with a smirk. "More like a living poster."

  "Aww, smooth talker."

  "Just being honest."

Inside the Van

They sat in the middle row—Hanu by the window, Robin beside him.

"Don't tell the others about last night," Hanu whispered.

  "Why not?"

"I just don't want them to start fussing."

"Relax. I've stored it safely in my brain's encrypted hard drive."

Hanu shot him a glare. "ROBIN."

  "Okay, okay! I'm joking!"

Then Robin leaned in slightly, whispering with a softer tone, "But really… thanks for trusting me enough to fall asleep next to me."

Hanu turned his gaze to the window, trying to hide the smile that crept onto his face.

"If you didn't always try to keep your image up, you'd be… the most adorable human alive," Robin added.

Hanu responded with a single word, barely audible.

  "…lame."

But his smile lingered at the corners of his lips. And Robin knew—that underneath the sharp comebacks and eye rolls—Hanu was happy.

The van rolled forward, heading toward Ancol, to a beach where even sunscreen five centimeters thick couldn't protect them from the sun…

…yet for Robin, that quiet moment beside Hanu was the most refreshing morning he'd ever had.

Ancol – Photoshoots and Stolen Glances

10:10 AM – Beachside, Oblivion Photoshoot Set

The sun beat down harshly, but the cameras didn't stop rolling.

Hanu and the rest of Oblivion were mid-photoshoot, themed Summer Glow. White T-shirts, watermelons, and brightly colored bean bags made up the cheerful props.

"HANU, tilt a little to your left! Hold it!" the photographer called out loudly.

Hanu shifted slightly, posing on an orange bean bag with his trademark smile—sweet, though tinged with fatigue. The sunlight had been stinging his eyes all morning.

In the distance, Robin stood tall behind his sunglasses. A headset was still tucked in his ear, but not a single word escaped his lips. He gave a brief nod when a crew member greeted him.

"Take five! Change angle!" the photographer shouted, breaking the moment.

Hanu stood up slowly and slipped away from the set, walking straight toward Robin. Sweat ran down his temples and neck.

Robin greeted him silently, handing over a small towel and a chilled bottle of water.

"Thanks," Hanu murmured as he wiped his face.

Robin didn't reply. He simply looked at him, making sure Hanu's expression still looked okay. Then, with a quiet voice, he asked, "Thirsty?"

Hanu nodded. "It's scorching, Rob. Are we even at a beach or inside an oven?"

Robin chuckled softly. "It's a beach. But you're too glowing—you're raising the temperature."

Hanu side-eyed him. "Was that… a pickup line?"

"Nope," Robin said, shaking his head. "Just a fact."

From the shoot area, Leo and Axel spotted them.

"Robiiiin! You're glued to Hanu, huh?!" Axel shouted.

"No wonder you've been quiet! You're in honeymoon mode?" Leo added with a grin.

Robin didn't turn around. He simply said flatly, "Lower your voices."

Axel burst into laughter, but Robin didn't flinch. His focus was still on Hanu—like the rest of the world was just noise.

"You didn't respond to them," Hanu whispered.

"No point," Robin said calmly. "What matters is you're not bothered."

Hanu smiled faintly, tucking the feeling away in his chest—the warmth of a bodyguard who acted cold toward the world but gentle only for him.

After the Shoot – Parking Lot, Ancol

12:00 PM

The members began filing into the vans. Hanu quietly stepped back from the crowd and slipped into the last row of one vehicle.

Robin arrived shortly after, having just finished coordinating security and checking intercom systems. He was about to sit in the front seat when Hanu lowered his mask and whispered, "Back here. With me."

  Robin paused. "You sure?"

"Yeah," Hanu replied quickly. "I just… feel tired."

Robin didn't ask anything else. He walked to the back and took the seat next to him.

As the van rolled forward, Hanu pulled off his jacket and leaned his head against the window. Then, inch by inch, he shifted—and rested his head on Robin's shoulder.

Robin stiffened for a second, but didn't pull away. He just turned slightly and exhaled softly.

"Don't tell me you're gonna sleep all the way to the venue," he muttered.

"And what if I do?" Hanu mumbled sleepily.

Robin paused. Then said quietly, "If you need rest, sleep. I'm not going anywhere."

A few moments of silence passed.

Hanu remained nestled against him. Then, in a whisper, he asked, "Robin…"

  "Hm?"

"If you're cold to everyone… but different with me… why?"

  Robin didn't answer right away.

Then, in a voice barely above a whisper, without even turning, he said, "Because you're… the only reason I'm still in this world."

Hanu held his breath. His eyes widened for a second, but he quickly looked away. He settled back down, choosing to keep that feeling safely tucked in silence.

And Robin, though his face remained calm and composed, gripped the edge of his seat just a little tighter. Because only one person in the world could make him feel this soft.

  Only Hanu.
