The other Black Sun members continued their work or patrol, acting like nothing had happened. That's life of being a crime lord, I guess. Even though this guy isn't exactly a lord, just someone who follows one. Lives can be exchanged as easily as that. You weren't safe no matter where you went. It gave off a different vibe from fighting a war where both sides lost lives. Here, the higher the ladder you climbed, the better position you were in. And I'm guessing this guy was pretty high up there, if he could bark orders at others.
Should I make my presence known?
Or continue my stealth while moving around in Morph Ball? If I remained patient, this Twi'lek very well could lead me all the way to who owns this compound.
That's my target. Once he's taken out, everyone else will scramble. Bargos's mission was clear and that was to make sure this trade route could open its doors again. I could leave it with just finishing off the boss here, but I could route the entire compound if it comes to that~
I hesitated at that thought. If I make myself known here, there's no way Black Sun would let this go unattended. I'll just keep to myself for now and assess the situation as it changes.
And it's not like I'm going into this blind. Adam's been marking places of interest on the map I've been checking back on every so often. That includes every single camera feed hoisted around the room, and their blind spots. In fact, I was resting in one such blind spot right now. That is why they haven't detected me yet.
After letting out an annoyed sigh, Vrax called out, pointing his finger at a few other members.
"You, you, and you. Go check on number five's post. Any sign of disruption, contact me immediately.", Vrax issued. "We're almost done taking over that pitiful Toydarian's trade route. Once this shipment is complete, we'll be able to expand."
"You got it Vrax.", The couple of them responded, and soon vanished from sight.
Was he referring to Bargos here? Probably.
I watched the dude bark his order. I don't know this guy, nor could I give two shits about him. Seemed hard-headed, and competent. Likely only worried about his own shoes since he didn't bat an eye at the person he just killed. To these people, they were expendable. Just like those clankers.
[There is a nearby vent off to your left, Samus. It will guide you further inside. I have already marked this individual named Vrax. If he leaves this room, you will see him move on your map. I have also marked the other ones to help you avoid their line of sight.] Adam said. My lips curved upward into a smile.
"You're the best, Adam. Back into the hole I go.", I uttered in a soft voice that only Adam could hear.
Staying inside my Morph Ball, I rolled deeper into the vent, hiding into the shadows once again.
Before I knew it, time began to pass. As if Adam was right on the money, that Vrax person stayed for a while, before a faint hiss of a door followed me into the vent. I saw him start moving into another large chamber that rested on the first floor. Most of this building was composed of a warehouse, so there really wasn't anything super exciting. Honestly, this was quite boring.
But once the guy moved deeper into the compound, I found a large enough vent, and to my surprise it was open. It was big enough that I could drop down, and that I did. I unfolded midair, and landed with a quiet thud next to some large crates.
"?", Vrax thought, hearing a faint noise strike against the hums of machinery, and shifted his attention toward my direction. I remained still. He quickly shook that thought aside. "I must be imagining things. I need to report to the boss that our schedule is still on track."
'Bingo. This guy was the key after all. This reminds me of certain games where you had to remain distant while following said person. And of course, I continued steering clear of any cameras. I wish I could just use the Force here in moments like this to cause them to turn all static. But at the same time, that would raise more red flags that I didn't want right now.
Another hissing of a door followed. Timing my running, I continued within the shadows. My eyes never left the rough-looking Twi'lek.
This room was smaller than the previous one. I only saw two sentries standing in the main hall, ready for combat. Only this time, I was now behind them. They had no idea I was lurking nearby.
Once the door closed the two remained vigilant. Making sure the coast was clear, I used a trajectory that kept any blind spots open, and went in for the kill. Hummm!
With one swift motion, my Grapple Lasso shot outward, and stretched around the two sentries' bodies.
Or more specifically, their necks.
"W-Wha!?", One of the two sentries tried to yell out, but was unable to find any more words before he felt his throat tighten.
"Mmm!", The second sentry said, struggling to reach for his blaster. He couldn't speak any longer, and also felt his throat tighten with the Grapple Lasso now gripping onto their necks.
Yoink.
I pulled both of them my way, making sure I was cleared of any obstructions. They struggled, and resisted. But my Grapple Lasso overcame them quite easily. They were pulled all the way back until they felt a force turn their bodies around. Thud.
The two stared at me in shock, still trying to struggle. Saw me in my Gravity Suit. Fully armored.
A single arm cannon was now taking aim right at them. Where exactly?
Their heads.
Finally being released from the lasso, one of them frantically tried to speak.
"W-Wait a minute, we---!?", The left sentry tried to say, but I simply cut him off.
"Not interested.", I replied. Switching beams, my yellow-hued Power Beam became icy-cold.
Pew. Pew!
The two poor members of the Black Sun couldn't even yell out in pain before their bodies were entirely encased in ice. I followed it up with two shots of my normal Power Beam, and their bodies cracked into little bits of icy dust. No corpses remaining.
But with this, I was now on a timer. I have killed five members of Black Sun now. Thankfully, they haven't seen my face yet. With enough time, they'll notice something is wrong. They already started to see the result of what I initially did by sending more guys out of the base.
My thoughts ended there, as I heard the same door hiss open a second time. I quickly took to the crates nearby, and hid myself. It was a different person this time. Not that Vrax guy. He was greeted with silence.
"Where'd those guys run off to? I know it's boring as all hell here, but if they catch us ditching our posts, hell will be raised.", The man grumbled. He was carrying a heavy cannon with him, and was quite bulky.
Not the type I'd clash against in a close confrontation like this, especially with all the armor he was wearing. I lucked out with the previous two since I caught them off guard. I saw him continue mumbling for a moment, before he retreated, and figured it was nothing.
But before the door closed, I switched into Morph ball, and quickly headed inside, finding another blind spot. I picked up several more heat signatures. I had to be careful here. I was much farther into the compound now. On its northern side. Two other members followed the guy further inside. More aliens I didn't know, but one of them seemed human? Not the human race I was familiar with, but had the same looks.
Once the coast was clear, more Black Sun sentries came through. That Vrax guy stood much further in, and I inched my way closer. I could see him on an open comms, likely with the real boss of this compound.
"I told you we needed to upgrade our motion sensors. Are you suggesting someone managed to slip inside?", A cold voice said.
"Three corpses were discovered at the west side of the compound. There's a phantom. An efficient one at that. Likely a hired merc. I will be raising security to its maximum. So far, there are no delays with our shipment.", Vrax responded, keeping his voice neutral, yet firm.
"Good. Good. Stay on schedule. One of Count Dooku's droid commanders will be arriving here within the next couple hours. We've secured many of the Republic weapons, and I am sure they will be pleased. Should this deal fall through, expect good payment.", The cold voice spoke.
"Understood.", Vrax said, before cutting his feed off.
'So they've already been in contact with the Separatists eh? This just got more interesting now that Toydaria aligned themselves with the Republic.', I mused, picking up some information I wasn't expecting to hear. It isn't Count Dooku himself, but if they're in the middle of a secret trade deal, things just got a whole lot more interesting.
