Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: The Guild (VI)

I let the little poll settle and relaxed for a week. Looks like the majority want a Mandalore arc, so I'll see what I can do!

I haven't tapped into the games a lot, mostly the shows and movies. Got a game to recommend that focuses on Mandalore?

Hiss. Clunk.

After enjoying a meal using that item synthesizer, I walked back into my cockpit. I was fully geared up with a full stomach, and ready to go.

And let me tell you, that thing is seriously no joke. As long as you have the correct recipe on hand, just feed the data into the synthesizer, and it'll whip you up some grub, acting just like the real thing. Granted, it's not on the same level of a Michelin restaurant, but it saves the hassle from wasting time cooking your own meal. I just need to wait around for a few moments, and it works its magic.

This is where transmigration comes into play. I cooked most of my meals in my previous life, and worked some odd jobs here and there, learning more recipes on the fly. I knew how to make my own pizza and such. I know, it's a hard skill to master~

But that was the one meal I decided to try and make with the machine. I can make a lot of Earth food you can't normally come across here in Star Wars. I stuffed my face silly with pizza! I couldn't care less if I was a girl.

Despite hiding my face behind my helmet, I saw Adam's holo face stare at me once I sat back down in my seat.

[You seem much better than before. I take it you were satisfied with your meal?] Adam questioned me.

"You don't know the half of it. There's a lot of foodstuffs I can make with that synthesizer that I could even turn into a profitable business if I went the route of the merchant. But that isn't my intention, anyways. Not now. You'd have to go through the Trade Federation, and seeing as how easily swayed they can be and given the fact they cooperate with the Separatists throughout the Clone Wars, I'd rather not cross paths with them like that. On the contrary, I wouldn't mind them reaching out to me for some bounties.", I replied. "But that's the point I'm making, let them come to me. If I reach out to anyone, it'd seem like I'm desperate, which I'm not."

[On the outside, anyway. But in reality, you ARE desperate. You need secured footing before you can attempt anything else. At the very least, it looks like you've got your priorities straight.] Adam said.

"Exactly. If I went out and rolled some heads around, it's not like I can exactly claim a bounty yet.", I said back with a nod of my helmet in acknowledgement.

[Well, there's still some time left on our current course. During your downtime with those Jedi, I was able to fully integrate the Star Chart you received from the Toydarian King into the gunship. It displays a lot of locations not only in the Core Worlds, but throughout the Rims as well. It includes several major and minor trade lanes, and even smuggling routes. That King really knows his information, it is good that you successfully established a connection with him.] Adam said to me.

"That's good. It'll make navigation a cinch from here on. It's especially noteworthy that you can cloak this gunship, Adam. It can bypass all radars and traffic. We just need to be wary of our surroundings when we pass through those lanes. It's times like these to be grateful that my gunship isn't the size of a cruiser or a large warship. Having a personal vessel like this is the way to go. Enlarging it to the size of the Millennium Falcon might be too much.", I happily answered.

[That's a big if, seeing as you can't even fly the ship yet.] Adam coldly responded.

"Ouch, but acceptable.", said, taking the hit. He isn't wrong. "But I'm glad you brought that up. How much time is left on our course to Planet Toydaria?", I continued to ask.

[With the abilities of your gunship Samus, we can cut our speed efficiency by over fifty percent, eliminating many unwanted actions during flight. I've scaled the time to the Star Chart, normally it takes about a week to pass through the Core Worlds to the Outer Rim, and that's on good days. If you run into anything unexpected, it could take up to two weeks or more, but if you take all of that out, surprisingly, it only needs a couple days of travel.] Adam answered.

"Mmm. And that is what we currently have. A couple days, huh? After you set the course you did instruct me how to initiate the jump hyperspace, but that's about all I can do. Maybe we can extend our travelling out by one or two days so I can get used to flying around with the controls? I don't want this landing to look sloppy, haha!", I replied, half-jokingly. I can't leave the descents into planets to Adam all the time now can I?

[If that is what you wish, then I shall be your flight instructor for the time being. Any questions before we begin, lady?] Adam questioned, causing me to shake my helmet again.

"None. And I will take this seriously. This is my life to live, after all. You can't make it far out here if you can't even fly a damn ship.", I stated.

And that was a fact.

There was more than enough time from here in the Core Worlds to the Mid Rim that I could spare some of it to at least get the basics of flying. And obviously, I couldn't do that while in hyperspace. Like I said before, it's basically dead weight. All you can do is pass the time while you're in these lanes.

But once you switch one lane to another, you exit hyperspace. That's what I'm referring to here.

[Very well. We shall take our time heading to Planet Toydaria. As you spent some time enjoying your meal and learning how to jump to hyperspace, I made it so we've passed by Coruscant. We were near Abregado which is in the Core Worlds, and from there, we jumped, and directly arrived onto the Perliminian Trade Route, which is one of the five known superroutes that I could locate. We will follow our current trajectory, and enter a couple junction points while travelling through Planet Kashyyk. That will be our last stop before arriving at Planet Toydaria. Once we've reached our first juncture at Lantillies, I will call for you, Samus. We can't exactly let you fly the ship while we're stuck in hyperspace like this.] Adam explained how it's going to go from here.

"So we have already passed the capital again, eh? Might be a good place to settle down one day. I'm already getting excited. We're travelling through space that we don't know about!", I happily answered, even though the latter half was false since I transmigrated from Planet Earth. But Adam doesn't need to know that part. I might tell him one day, but he already knows that I'm not the Samus he's familiar with.

[Correct. There's still around five hours until our arrival at Planet Lantillies. I will advise that you heed caution and let this gunship remain cloaked. We will still be able to go through your lessons. I did some searching around and found out this planet creates many ships for what you call the Separatists. It's very possible that the gigantic warship we battled was manufactured there.] Adam stated, drawing my attention.

"A spaceship manufacturing planet filled with droids and clankers. Very well, I'll take your advice seriously. Five hours to go before we hop lanes. I might get a little shut-eye. Wake me up an hour before we arrive. I want to see this with my own eyes.", I replied, nodding my helmet again.

[Understood. I will keep our current trajectory. Rest well, Samus. Your lessons will continue afterward.] Adam responded before I saw his holo face vanish from the control panels.

I remained cloaked during the attack on the Malevolence, so it's not like those Separatists know what my ship looks like, so I think I can take it pretty easy out here as long I don't go snooping around or anything.

Let's have a little fun, shall we? Excitement appeared in my eyes as I made my way back to a stasis pod inside my Personal Quarters...
