Just like how it went in the show, Master Plo brought the clones out of their rescue pod, and decided to take the attack to the droids. These droids weren't your typical B1 or B2 battle droids. These droids were designed to attack in zero gravity space. Outer space. Clones, on the other hand, were not equipped with this skillset. The three clones with Master Plo had to stay latched onto the edges of the pod, and use some time to steady their balances before they could take their first shot.
By that time, the first droid or two in front already unleashed their blaster fire. Pew pew!
Thankfully, Master Plo was more used to this than the clones were. He remained standing, lightsaber in hand. It was now ignited, and a bright blue hum shone around it. With a single flick of his wrist, he blocked the first shot, which took aim directly at him. Hsss!
The red laser collided against the saber directly, and the energy of the bolt began to rapidly disperse, heading in another direction altogether. If one had a close look, it was redirected. It soon aimed for the droid on the right. And since there was no air resistance in outer space, these blaster fires were firing off at a rapid pace. Sadly, there was still some distance between the droids and Master Plo. The droid on the right narrowly evaded the blaster shot that got redirected back at it.
"Ha! It's going to take you more than that to finish us off, Jedi.", The droid said.
"Oh we'll see about that. Sinker it's your turn now.", Master Plo said, unleashing the Force within him. Channeling it through his body, Master Plo raised his hand toward one of the clones. Since they had already received a signal and were waiting for someone to head to their position, the clone inside the pod didn't have to keep the communication line open and remain inside the pod, so the three could be seen on the outside now. Even if their last lifeline was destroyed, the pod, they could still stay out in outer space since they're fully equipped with the suits to do so. Master Plo would run at more risk here, but Samus was less than ten minutes away.
Raising Sinker on the right, he felt an invisible force latch onto his body, and suddenly lifted him upward. He was immediately greeted with a zero gravity sensation, and struggled to regain his balance, but Master Plo was skillful. He flung Sinker overhead, aiming right at the operator droid.
"Quick thinking, General. We've been having a hard time trying to aim our shots. We aren't prepared to fight in outer space unlike these droids. We might need to recommend some additional skills to learn back at base.", Commander Wolffe said. As he said that, he took aim and shot out with a blue laser. Sadly, it completely whiffed, unable to hit any of the droids on the claw-like machine.
As for Sinker, he found his way. It wasn't too far off, but he latched onto the machine, and turned his body around.
"Eat blaster fire you clankers!", Sinker exclaimed, and took aim. Pew. Pew. Pew!
"Ahhh!", The droids responded back in their typical monotone voice. This time, the result was as expected. The blaster fire connected, destroying the three hunter droids in succession. This just left the operator droid alone. Even their Corporal droid was lost in that quick exchange. Granted, this battle didn't last long in the show. But this time, it was more even.
"Good work Sinker. Now come back over.", Master Plo said, using his excellent use of the Force again. Just like the first time, he quickly locked onto Sinker. The operator droid was stunned seeing its comrades now headless and destroyed, sparks were flying but there was no atmosphere to catch fire on. Nothing to burn. The sparks just fizzled out into the vacuum of space. The techniques Master Plo were using right now were called Force Push and Force Pull. They could launch its target outward, or real them back in respectively.
"Haha! Now that's what I'm talking about!", Commander Wolffe responded, speaking through his helmet. The clone with him raised his blaster up, cheering. They knew there was still the operator droid, but it was currently occupied with what it was tasked to do. Destroy the pod. It couldn't stop halfway to fire at the enemies before it.
Once Sinker was back over on their side, Master Plo shifted his attention elsewhere. He was no longer focused on the one operator droid that was still alive. With his blue lightsaber in hand, his eyes latched onto the claws that had grabbed a hold of their pod. The operator was actively doing what it was designed to do. Dull crushing sounds echoed around the clones' ears, making them shift their heads. This noise wasn't extremely loud as that too got sucked into the vacuum of space, it was more a dull creaking before it vanished. But it was enough to make them serious.
Whoosh!
In a flash, Plo Koon sliced through the claws, cleaving them in two. The plasma tore through the metal like butter, leaving behind a trail of fire where the claws once stood. The embers were quick to be put out.
"I don't think this is looking good...", The operator droid said, seeing the once operable machine now inoperable. It simply watched the claw fly off into the endless expanse of outer space, joining the rest of the wreckage. "And I was so close to a promotion after this mission...!"
"Well I can assure you that you will not be reporting back to your commanding officer. Eat blaster fire, clanker.", Commander Wolffe said, taking a moment to take a steady stance with one knee on the pod. With the last droid locked in, it couldn't move before a blue blaster fire connected right onto its head, shooting it right off.
"Well done.", Master Plo said, sheathing his lightsaber at his waist. It was now still around them. No more hunter droids to interrupt.
"Should we head back into the pod, General? Our rescue is still inbound, right? The guys and I can stay out in space for a little while longer, but you're more at risk than we are. It'd be best if you head in first.", Commander Wolffe suggested.
"Heh, no need for that. I saw everything. You guys sure showed those droids whose boss.", A dampened voice called out to them. All of a sudden, a sole figure who was igniting a jet propulsion device from their back rapidly came into view. This figure was wearing purple-plated armor. Who else could that be but me?
I had just arrived at the crash site in the nick of time, only to see these guys successfully fight off the hunter droids that were lurking around this area. It was just a sole squad, so it wasn't too much to worry about. I had long since spotted them on Adam's holomap. You see, I had Adam colorcode things to make it easier. Green for allies, yellow for potential allies, and red for enemies. It was a sole red dot going around the debris skillfully, just as Adam did. It was almost doing a loop-de-loop, going around the surroundings nearly missing each other. But I knew Adam was strategically evading the droids, so engagement wasn't necessary.
And the result was clear before me. Smiling beneath my helmet, I spoke out to these guys.
"Need a ride?", I asked. I won't lie, I did struggle initially flying out in zero gravity like this. Going too far, or not going far enough. It took some moments to find stability in my manual flight. This was my first step forward to fulfilling my desire to fly my gunship without Adam's help. Is this what it feels like to be a Mandalorian? They fly around with jetpacks everywhere as easy as they breathe. It's a part of their culture, and their life.
But for my setup, it's a little bit different. It's like using Geppo from One Piece thanks to my Space Jump Boots shooting propulsion waves downward, and Gravity Booster stabilizing my position. I think I can get used to this, but will it work once I'm exploring more planets on foot? I'll need to see if I can have Adam make this setup to how Mandalorians fly around, but also keeping its current features, which will allow me to freely and literally, jump on air, and pass through liquid surfaces without any resistance at all. An all-purpose movement!
