Chapter 96 - Chapter 97 – Moving Forward

Mr. Dini, this is my captain — the person I respect most. If anything happens to him because of you, know this: I'll find you. Even if you hide in the world's darkest corner, I will find you," Fang Yi said calmly but firmly, noticing Dini's unease.

Dini swallowed hard, glancing at Roger. He knew he had no way to guarantee the captain's illness was truly gone.

At that moment, Crocus interjected. "Little Yi-ge, he can't promise 100%, but I can tell you — right now, your captain has no symptoms."

Fang Yi nodded, but anxiety lingered. "But what if something happens later? Where would I find him?"

Roger burst out laughing. "Yi-ge, that's not something you can control. But the fact he's stable now—that's what matters. Don't worry further. I already know about Barrett — I'll handle it myself."

Fang Yi opened his mouth to protest, but Roger had turned to speak with Dini. He stood silent.

Dini, filled with gratitude, silently watched Roger as he was escorted away.

With Dini dismissed, the Roger Pirates set sail toward Wano Country, where the third Road Poneglyph awaited. Thanks to Oden's children, they'd added a copyable glyph to their collection from Fish-Man Island. Now, with Kozuki Oden aboard and having deciphered the ancient text after arriving at Sky Island, searching for the next glyph became far more efficient.

Fang Yi used newly acquired points to exhaust the entire second‑tier shop in the system, and even had over a thousand points left. His goal now: stockpile enough so the third‑tier shop would unlock. After training that evening, he checked his system logs... and stopped at the Bounty interface, something he had previously ignored, believing it offered no real benefit.

Yet now he suspected he'd misunderstood its true purpose. Still, after careful examination, he had no clearer idea, so he pivoted to his item inventory.

Once nearly empty, the bag now held tools, curiosities, and a stockpile of weapons he couldn't bear to discard. But most importantly? A treasure trove of special lottery tickets.

Beyond common tickets (used in batches of ten), Fang Yi had:

3 faintly yellow tickets, from Time Gate, Iceberg, and Grandmother Cora, can only be used once each.

3 pirate‑colored black tickets, from Kozuki Oden, Cat‑Viper, and Dog‑Storm.

One gold ticket from shipwright Tom — the rarest, never used.

He suspected the timing wasn't right yet to use them, so he waited.

As they neared Wano, Toki-hime (Oden's wife) fell ill, likely from fatigue or homesickness. Crocus stabilized her but advised her to disembark upon reaching Wano. Oden refused—he insisted on staying with Roger until the end.

With heavy hearts, everyone respected her decision. Unspoken: Roger's life may be nearing its final chapter. Only the very youngest — Fang Yi, Shanks, Buggy, and Buggy's new ally Dini — were left unaware of the true prognosis. Rayleigh had quietly instructed Jaba and Yamon to keep their composure.

When Oro Jackson reached Wano, Kin'emon & co. were waiting along the Kuri shoreline.

"Lord Oden! Welcome back!" the retainers knelt urgently. "Wano needs you now — change is coming!"

Before they could continue, Toki interrupted: "If you truly wish Lord Oden well, then spare the speeches. We'll rest briefly and go on. Kin'emon — do you recall the red stone glyph in Flower Capital? Send word immediately to rub off the inscription."

Oden sensed transformation in Wano's wind — perhaps from Noura or rising tensions. Turning back might trap him forever. He chose to forge ahead.

Kin'emon's convoy followed obediently, although uneasy at his resolve, they had no choice.

Fang Yi took the opportunity to "scan" Kin'emon's group for a lottery check-in, earning 5 flashy light-blue tickets (distinct from pirate or Navy types).

Once Oden delivered the rubbings of Wano's Road Poneglyph to Roger, the ship set sail again — this time toward Zou, guided by Zunesha's life card given by Inu and Neko.

Roger examined the card and mused: "We rely on this to reach Zou?"

Jaba smiled: "There's another way — luck."

The crew laughed derisively — they weren't scholars. Jaba grinned: he had become even more studious after marrying Yamon; she insisted he keep learning. To her, a disciple surpassing the teacher was the greatest shame.

As the ship carved onward into the New World…

Fang Yi continued saving his point tickets,

Shanks stood ready by Roger's side,

Buggy occasionally bragged about his "most daring rescue,"

And life moved forward toward the next uncharted chapter.
