You can feel the power in this stone—it's not hard to find! Oden, does it say anything about great power? Roger smiled gently, standing beneath the Bell of Gold.
Unlike Fang Yi, who could only sense ancient text faintly, Roger could hear everything. He sensed the weight of history etched into the Poneglyph.
"Yes. It writes of an Ancient Weapon called Poseidon," Oden answered after carefully reading the inscription.
"Poseidon? Another Ancient Weapon?" Rayleigh asked in surprise.
"It seems we're close to gathering them all!" Fang Yi chimed in, softly touching the Poneglyph and completing his system task to locate a historical text, earning 1,000 points.
With the second-level shop now open, Fang Yi had many tempting purchases—but he decided to save his points, hoping to unlock a third-level shop later with better offerings.
"Could you carve something here? Oden?" Roger looked at the Poneglyph again and whispered:
"I have come here and will guide this passage to the final land! Pirate—Gol D. Roger."
"It's done! How does it look?" Oden asked after engraving Roger's message at the bottom.
"Perfect," Roger replied with satisfaction. "Let's go. Our mission here is complete."
"Captain! Aren't we going to take some of this gold with us?" Buggy glared at the glittering hills of treasure regretfully.
"Hahaha… Buggy, save that for when you become captain! I don't have time," Roger laughed.
A hush fell over the crew—Roger's health left only about a year to live, and they all felt the weight of that.
Soon, they returned from Sky Island and reached Water 7.
"Oden—what exactly are these Route Poneglyphs? Like the one on Skypiea?" Oden asked, curious.
"No—they look similar, but the Road Poneglyphs are red," Roger clarified.
"Red? Our country… may have one!" Oden replied slowly.
"Red? You do?" Roger looked stunned.
"Yes."
"And we have one, too!" Inuarashi and Nekomamushi interjected.
"You three fools! That's exactly what I needed! Why didn't you say anything earlier?!" Roger nearly exploded.
"But—you didn't tell us!" Oden's family protested innocently.
"Captain!" Fang Yi excitedly turned to Roger, "Including the one we obtained from Big Mom, that makes three!"
Because Oden hadn't mentioned their nation's Road Poneglyph earlier, Fang Yi had planned to ask in private later on Sabaody.
Finally, it was out in the open, and Fang Yi beamed.
"Not just three," Roger gently corrected. "Four. I believe I know where the last one is. With four, I can complete the set! Fate has truly guided us."
Oden's duo of retainers had stowed aboard, allowing Roger to reach this point—and if not for them, no one would have realized they had their marker.
"So, shall we go find it immediately?" Shanks and Buggy were visibly excited.
"Not yet," Roger replied. "Now that we know all four, we have time. And since we're in Water 7… we ought to visit an old friend."
Fang Yi knew Roger meant the legendary shipwright Tom, creator of the Oro Jackson. Visiting Tom carried weight both personal and historical.
True to plan, they went to the workshop and Fang Yi finally met the future Franky, Iceburg, the Mayor of Water 7, Fish-Man Tom himself, and the mermaid Kokoro.
"Rogers! Long time no see!" Tom beamed at their arrival.
"Tom! It's been forever!"
"How are you holding up?"
"So glad to see you, Tom!" The crew greeted him with joy.
Fang Yi, though new to the ship, seized the chance: he managed to "check in" to receive three special lottery tickets—one gold-lit from Tom, and two yellow-lit from Kokoro and Iceburg. He hadn't checked in on Franky yet.
These special-color tickets, Fang Yi understood, often led to better rewards—so he stashed them for another day.
After one day in Water 7, the Oro Jackson departed again—this time heading toward the layout of known Road Poneglyphs. The crew buzzed with energy.
"Sabaody Archipelago should be just ahead," Rayleigh warned as they neared the island. "Stay sharp, everyone—this island is near Marine HQ. Keep it quiet."
"We're heading toward Fish-Man Island via underwater route," Roger added seriously. "No trouble. Once we arrive, we move on."
"Yeah, right—my lead troublemaker's ready!" Rayleigh replied, addressing both Roger and Oden, knowing both had a habit of stirring the pot.
Finally, Rayleigh took Fang Yi to a cozy café.
"This is Shakky—you can call her Aunt Shakky," Rayleigh introduced them.
"Oh—she's Shakky!? You all make me sound ancient, calling her Aunt Shakky. How about… Shakky-sister?" joked Fang Yi, winking at Rayleigh.
"I swear, you're trouble," Rayleigh groaned with a chuckle.
Then, focusing on purpose: "I brought you here because Shakky heard something—something about the Surgery Fruit."
"The Surgical Devil Fruit?" Fang Yi tensed instantly—that was the only thing that might save Captain Roger.
Shakky leaned forward curiously. The Surgery Fruit was whispered only in rumors—no ordinary person knew of it.
Rayleigh clarified: "It was Fang Yi who suggested looking for it. He and the captain share abilities, and Fang Yi found the clue to the fruit."
You're Fang Yi said Fang Yi, meeting Shakky's eyes. This fruit… could be our salvation.
