Chapter 43 - Chapter 43 – Fang Yi vs. Kizaru

Cough… Damn yellow monkey… You dare show up in front of me again!? Fang Yi spat out some blood and slowly stood up, glaring at Kizaru with a cold, deep voice.

Though he had landed a hit earlier, seeing Kizaru again ignited a surge of hatred in his chest. To him, it was an enemy reunion—one destined to be settled.

Oh my, how terrifying… As expected of pirates. Even the kids look ready to kill, Kizaru said casually, feigning fear. But his sleazy expression made the act look even more mocking.

Fang Yi first checked on Yameng, who lay on the ground nearby. Seeing that she hadn't suffered further injuries because of his protection, he exhaled in relief.

Teacher Yameng, wait here for a moment. I'll deal with this guy and then get you to a doctor, he said with determination.

Yameng weakly nodded. Cough… Be careful, Xiao Yi. He might be… a Devil Fruit user…

It's fine, teacher. Leave it to me! Fang Yi raised his hand, summoning the Sun Piercing Bow, and drew an arrow. "This won't take long."

Yameng smiled faintly. She had faith in Fang Yi.

How scary~ Even the little brats among pirates are so cocky these days? Kizaru taunted, relaxed as always.

But in response, an arrow imbued with icy aura streaked toward his head.

The shot seemed dead-on—like it was going to shatter his skull. But Fang Yi already knew it had missed its mark.

Tch… Observation Haki, huh? Dodged it before it hit. Of course, it wasn't going to be that easy… But I'm no pushover either!

Fang Yi stepped forward—and in a flash, he vanished.

Although his arrows carried Armament Haki, which allowed him to strike Logia-type users like Kizaru, if the target sensed danger in time and transformed into their element, they could still dodge the hit entirely.

Shave? Kizaru blinked in surprise. He recognized the technique instantly.

Zephyr, their strict instructor, had always emphasized the importance of physical strength, claiming Devil Fruit abilities were only a crutch. Because Kizaru relied more on his fruit, Zephyr had often singled him out as the problem child.

But Kizaru never gave up refining both his Pika Pika no Mi and his physical combat skills.

Just as he began to move, three arrows shot toward him from different angles.

Oho… That's some impressive archery, Kizaru admitted, noticing how the arrows not only locked onto him but also blocked his possible escape paths.

If he used Logia-phase too soon, he'd only dodge one arrow—the other two would still hit.

But Kizaru wasn't just a fruit user.

Ama no Murakumo… he murmured, forming a glowing blade from light between his hands.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

He deflected all three arrows in a dazzling display.

But before he could counterattack, a fourth arrow—charged with power—raced straight at him.

It was Fang Yi's charged shot, one of his strongest skills, hidden and timed for this exact moment.

Kizaru barely managed to block it with his sword—but the force pushed him several meters back…

And then it exploded.

BOOM!

Black smoke engulfed him, drawing shocked gasps from the surrounding marines.

Had their shining star been taken down without landing a hit?

Phew… What a terrifying little brat, Kizaru muttered, leaping out of the smoke cloud.

Now's my chance… Take this—Trident Shot! Fang Yi, already anticipating Kizaru's location, launched three arrows.

Two curved inward from the left and right, and the final one flew straight ahead.

Together, they formed a deadly trident.

This was a special technique developed by Fang Yi and Yameng—firing three arrows in succession rather than at once, giving him three separate chances to trigger skills from his system.

Can't let my guard down around this kid… Laser! Kizaru raised his fingers, charging up beams of destructive light.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

All three arrows were shot down—but Kizaru's face twisted in pain mid-air.

He lost control and fell from the sky.

Trying to act cool now? Not a chance, Fang Yi grinned, checking his system's UI—his [Precision] skill had gained two points. That meant two of his arrows hit.

He had aimed at lethal points—either the heart or head. Even if the arrows didn't physically hit, the triggered skill effects simulated the pain.

Time to finish this! Fang Yi fired another frost-imbued arrow.

Damn it… What the hell is this? Kizaru gasped, clutching his chest. That feeling of being hit—twice—in the heart was still lingering.

He realized something: Fang Yi wasn't just a strong kid. He might be a Devil Fruit user with some bizarre ability.

This time, instead of blocking the arrow, Kizaru dodged.

You think you can escape? Fang Yi smirked. He shifted positions repeatedly, losing arrow after arrow.

Kizaru had fewer options to move safely, and Fang Yi's aim was relentless. Forced to respond, Kizaru had to block some of the shots.

But every time he did—he risked triggering Fang Yi's skills.

At one point, thinking the kid's powers had cooldowns or limitations, Kizaru attempted a full counterattack.

Unfortunately for him, Fang Yi triggered [Precision + Stun] at the worst moment.

Dazed, head throbbing, Kizaru quickly abandoned the fight.

As he staggered away, Fang Yi aimed again—five arrows this time…

But before he could shoot, Kizaru turned into a beam of light and escaped toward a nearby marine ship.

Tch… Coward, Fang Yi said, lowering his bow with a snort.

He had completely overwhelmed Kizaru in the fight, never giving him a chance to retaliate.

Yes, Fang Yi knew—he wasn't truly stronger. But Kizaru had no knowledge of his strange skills. The surprise factor, the triggered abilities, and the pain simulation had been enough to scare him off.

If the fight dragged on, things would've gotten worse for Fang Yi. His special arrows like Fire Arrows, Frost Arrows, and Trident Shot consumed a lot of stamina.

If not for a physical buff he'd drawn earlier, he would've been out of strength long ago.

Even now, his arms were heavy, muscles trembling.

After all, he was still just a kid. Compared to adults like Kizaru, his stamina wasn't even in the same league.

Teacher Yameng… I did it, he said, walking over with a weary smile.

You little brat… You've gotten really strong, she replied with admiration.

She'd seen the whole fight—tactics, movement, strategy—Fang Yi had handled everything like a seasoned warrior.
