"You! I thought you loved her?! How could you be so cruel and kill her!" Rose's family cried out, surprised at Aaron's ruthlessness, their voices a mix of horror and accusation, rushing forward in panic.
"Relax, in-laws. She is not dead. I only did that to provide her with more power," Aaron said, a smile on his face, his tone casual, as if the act was mundane.
"In-law?" Rose said, her face reddened in embarrassment from Aaron's address to her family. She sat up, the wound already healing, her cheeks flushing with a mix of surprise and fluster.
"Huh?" Aaron muttered, surprised. Rose had returned to "life," but he couldn't feel any hybrid ability from her. The lack of change puzzled him, his system senses scanning her in vain.
