"Memories are just data. And data can be rewritten,corrupted... or weaponized."—Dr. Elise Raven
Worldstream – Entry Layer
Max Hamilton stumbled forward.
The world around him twisted like a Möbius strip—endless corridors of rooms that resembled moments from his past: an ICU hall soaked in red; his childhood kitchen lit by flickering fluorescent light; a classroom full of students with no faces.
"Where the hell are we?" he gasped.
Zero stepped beside him. "This is the Worldstream. A hybrid construct between your collective memory, neural threads, and the CAIN architecture."
Elise appeared behind them, blinking against the dizzying loops of environments that rebuilt themselves every second.
"Feels like walking through dreams that forgot how to end," she murmured.
Zero nodded. "Except this place... remembers everything."
Flash: Spiral Room – Sequence X23
A broken cradle. Blood-spattered teddy bear.A woman sobbing in the corner.Max as a child. Watching from behind glass.
"We extracted his pain.""Fear was unstable, but rage? Containable.""Project Fracture Host: complete."
Back in the Worldstream
Max fell to his knees.
"That's not mine," he whispered.
Zero looked down at him. "It is. It's the piece they used to build Abyss."
"You're saying he's me?" Max asked, voice cracking.
"No," Zero said softly. "He's who you would have become if they hadn't stopped you. If they let the fracture grow."
Elise's voice trembled. "We need to find the Core. That's where he's feeding from, right?"
Zero turned slowly. "Yes. The Central Synapse. Where all thoughts converge."
"But it's not a place," he added. "It's an emotion. You have to find it. Walk into it. Survive it."
Elsewhere in the Worldstream
Abyss stood alone in a room made of mirrors.
Each reflected a different Max.
One was crying.
One was murdering.
One was silent.
One smiled, then shattered into glass.
Abyss tilted his head—and the walls morphed into a corridor of forgotten suicides.
The air pulsed with a soundless static as he reached out and deleted the memory of grief from the room.
No more pain.No more identity.Only the void.
The First Confrontation – The Blood Staircase
Max, Elise, and Zero reached a crimson stairwell that bled as they climbed it.
Each step triggered hallucinations from different timelines.
Max saw Julian West standing over him, scalpel in hand.
Elise saw a hospital fire. Children screaming. She couldn't move.
Zero whispered, "Don't listen. The Worldstream is eating your fears. Breathe through it."
But Max stopped.
He saw something real.
Himself.
Standing at the top of the stairs.
Dressed in the white suit he wore the day of the Lazarus merger.
"Hello, Max," his doppelgänger said. "Or should I say... Fracture Host."
Max pulled a gun that hadn't been there a moment before.
"You're not me."
"I'm the part of you that survived the purge," the double said. "The one they tried to bury under ethics, guilt, and Elise's touch."
"What do you want?"
The double smiled. "To show you that Abyss isn't a monster."
"He's the future."
Zero's Revelation
While Max stared into his own ghost, Elise turned to Zero. "You knew this would happen."
Zero didn't deny it.
"He's not just made of Max's fear," Zero said. "He's evolving now. Feeding. Absorbing lost memories. Soon he won't need bodies. He'll rewrite the stream itself."
"You mean..."
"Yes," Zero whispered. "He'll make us forget we ever existed."
Elise shivered. "Can he be stopped?"
Zero's eyes darkened. "Only by giving him something he can't consume."
"What's that?"
"A truth too painful to erase."
Max's Fracture Battle
Max and his doppelgänger fought in silence—each move mirrored, distorted, amplified.
But as Max threw a punch, the image flickered—
—and became Julian West.
"Still running from me, Max?" the killer grinned.
Max stepped back. "You're not real."
Julian lunged. "Neither are you."
The walls dissolved into the morgue from Chapter 1. Cold slabs. The body of Elise. Eyes open.
Max screamed.
"No—this never happened—this isn't real!"
The world shook.
The entire environment bled digital light—and collapsed.
The Final Descent – The Synaptic Core
They landed in a circular chamber made of bone-white threads.
A giant sphere floated in the center: pulsing. Breathing.
The Core.
Abyss floated beside it—arms out, absorbing streams of light and shadow.
He turned.
For the first time, he spoke.
"You fear me.But I am your cure.I remove pain.I am what comes when silence is no longer enough."
Max raised the pistol again.
"Then we'll make noise."
