Leon's words turned the atmosphere heavy, and both ladies stopped eating. Evelyn's whole body trembled, and she couldn't bring herself to say anything.
"Why do you overthink so much, Mom?" Leon sighed, knowing that he had stepped on the wrong spot. "I don't care what happened back then or whether he knows that I exist or not. As for hating him, as long as he doesn't come to hurt you again, I have no reason to hate him."
He put a meatball in his mouth and added, "He's just a stranger to me. From the way you defend him, I can see that he wasn't the one who hurt you… directly at least, so I wouldn't hate him for that. If I ever meet him in the future, we'll just be strangers."
He smiled at his mother and said, "But if you want to get together with him, I won't mind either. You wasted too many years on me, so if you want a life now, I won't say anything. I don't have any right to."
"Are you trying to play cupid for your mother?" Amber asked, amused by his words.
