Chapter 140 - Chapter 140: The Eternal God of Denim

"I…" Enchantress stammered, her face flushed crimson as Rowan held her chin firmly, forcing her to meet his gaze. Her entire body was aflame, heat radiating from her skin, but even so she forced herself to nod, whispering through the haze of embarrassment, "It's my choice… I don't regret it."

Rowan's lips curled into a satisfied smile.

He pulled her slender waist into his embrace and lowered his head, claiming her lips in a searing kiss.

Enchantress had never experienced such intimacy before. Her resistance crumbled almost instantly beneath Rowan's overwhelming dominance. Her hands, which had pushed feebly against his chest, slowly shifted, curling around his back instead.

Here, inside the halls of the War God Palace, Rowan restrained himself. He did not take things further, ending the kiss after half a minute, though the hunger in his eyes remained.

Enchantress was left breathless, dazed, her lips parted as she gasped softly for air.

Rowan gently stroked her flushed cheek, smiling as he spoke. "Enchantress, pack your things this afternoon. Move to the Jiangnan Base City. I'll come for you."

The truth was simple her unparalleled beauty had stirred thoughts in his heart. If they hadn't been standing inside the War God Palace, he would never have stopped at just a kiss.

"Alright…" she murmured dreamily, her mind spinning, her heartbeat thundering like a drum. Logic had already fled. She leaned into Rowan's chest, surrendering to the warmth of his arms.

That very afternoon, Enchantress boarded a smart fighter jet and departed for Jiangnan Base City.

Meanwhile, Victor Gale's email had already spread among the upper echelons of the Extreme Martial Hall. In three days' time, Enchantress's appointment ceremony in China would be held at the Jiangnan Base.

As dusk descended, a smart jet pierced through the sky, descending over Mingyue Community.

The sight startled the residents. Few had ever seen such an advanced craft in person.

It could only mean one thing a figure of immense status had arrived.

Rowan's younger brother, Luo Feng, had just returned from the wilderness and was eating with his family when the roar of the descending jet caught his attention. He and his brother, Luo Hua, stepped out onto the villa balcony to see.

"That jet's far too advanced. For it to fly directly into Mingyue, bypassing the tight security? Could it be here for Rowan?" Luo Feng muttered, his brow furrowed.

"Wow, big brother, it looks so cool!" Luo Hua gripped the railing with both hands, eyes shining.

Luo Feng could only nod in agreement. It was magnificent, far beyond anything within his reach. A fighter like that cost tens of billions at the very least.

As the brothers watched in awe, the jet's hatch opened.

A tall, striking figure clad in a violet combat suit emerged, a golden visor concealing her features.

The instant he laid eyes on her, Luo Feng's heart lurched violently. A suffocating sense of danger washed over him, the same primal terror he'd felt when facing a lord-level monster in the wilderness only stronger.

This was not ordinary power. This was the suppression of life itself.

Luo Feng's first thought: she must be a female War God.

But he was wrong.

Dozens of figures appeared, rushing forward from the streets below. Some wore combat armor, others formal attire, but every one of them radiated strength.

Rowan narrowed his eyes, spotting several familiar faces among them, including Zhuge Tao and even the Inspector from Jiangnan's Extreme Martial Hall an existence rarely seen outside the shadows.

These were all War Gods, or at least high-ranking officials.

The crowd stopped beneath the hovering jet, six figures at the forefront exuding a pressure that dwarfed even the rest. Their posture was respectful, heads bowed.

Luo Feng's breath caught. Six War Gods, standing in unison… to welcome this single woman?

That meant only one thing.

An Overseer. A Council-level powerhouse.

The jet descended slowly, guided by invisible force.

"Welcome, Chief Overseer!" the six War Gods shouted in unison, their voices echoing like thunder. The others followed, a chorus of deference.

Enchantress glanced down at them, her brows twitching slightly. She had explicitly instructed them not to come, yet here they were. Still, since they had gathered, she might as well commit their faces to memory.

"You may all leave. We will meet again at the ceremony three days from now," she said coldly, her voice like ice.

"Yes, ma'am!"

The six War Gods bowed and withdrew, followed by the rest.

"Brother, did you see that?" Luo Hua whispered hoarsely, eyes wide. "Those were all high-ranking figures from the Extreme Martial Hall. And they were bowing to her! Who is that woman?"

Luo Feng shook his head. He had guessed she might be an Overseer, but he had never seen her name on any forum posts. Yet her youth unsettled him she looked no older than her twenties.

"The Extreme Martial Hall is overflowing with prodigies," he thought, his fists clenching unconsciously, desire burning in his gaze.

But then something happened that nearly made him choke.

When Enchantress caught sight of Rowan standing at a distance, her icy mask shattered in an instant. Her lips curved into a radiant smile, and she rushed forward, throwing herself into his arms like a bird returning to its nest.

Luo Feng and Luo Hua stood frozen, jaws slack.

This breathtakingly powerful woman the Chief Overseer herself was Rowan's girlfriend?

The gap was absurd. The contrast almost broke their brains.

Rowan spun her lightly in his arms, kissing her lips before gently removing her visor.

"Come on," he whispered. "Tonight, I'll treat you to the real War God Palace cuisine."

He had recently acquired the Palace's recipes from Victor Gale. With the right ingredients, his mastery as a planetary-rank mentalist allowed him to replicate their dishes perfectly.

Holding hands, they disappeared into Rowan's villa.

On the balcony, Luo Hua nudged his brother with a smirk. "So, big bro… how are things going with Sister Xu Xin?"

Luo Feng's expression darkened. If only he could embrace Xu Xin the same way. But his relentless training had left little room for romance.

"Don't stick your nose into grown-up business," he muttered, ruffling his brother's hair. "Go study your stock trading."

That evening, Rowan and Enchantress cooked together, their laughter filling the kitchen. After dinner, in the glow of candlelight, Rowan led her upstairs to finish what they had left incomplete in the War God Palace.

The night was long, passionate, and unforgettable. Even with her body honed to planetary strength, Enchantress found herself overwhelmed by Rowan's unyielding fervor. By dawn, she had to beg for mercy.

For the first time in her life, she felt the sweet weight of belonging, the sense of a place where her heart could rest.

Two days later, their lives fell into rhythm. Rowan traveled frequently to the Flame World for training, while Enchantress split her time between the Kyoto Base and Mingyue, visiting Rowan on weekends. It was a balance that suited them both.

Rowan had little interest in constant companionship. He preferred the sweetness of reunion after brief separations, especially since his responsibilities stretched across two worlds.

In the days that followed, Rowan delved deeper into the mysteries of unity between man and nature, brushing the threshold of domain comprehension a feat that left even Victor Gale astonished. After all, Thor himself had taken decades to reach this stage.

Rowan suspected the Mind Stone's subtle influence aided his progress.

One quiet afternoon, he leaned back with a drink, watching Enchantress try on outfits with her Black God Suit. At his request, she donned a pair of deep-blue denim jeans, a slim black leather belt, and a simple white cotton camisole.

On her tall frame, with her perfect curves, even such simple attire radiated allure. Rowan thought she looked like the goddess of denim itself.

He was about to request another outfit when a video call flashed across his communicator. It was Luo Feng. Normally, his younger brother would send a message first. For him to call outright meant trouble.

Rowan answered.

"Rowan… I think I've gotten myself into trouble." Luo Feng's face appeared, clad in battle armor, his body hurtling through the skies on a shield.

"What happened?" Rowan asked, keeping Enchantress out of view.

"I killed someone," Luo Feng admitted grimly. "But the man's background… it's bad. Strong enough to send War Gods after me."

Rowan's brows lifted, intrigue flickering in his eyes. "What's his name?"

"Li Wei."

Rowan chuckled softly. Of course. Just like in the original tale.

"Then you do have a problem," he said lightly. "Li Wei's family is powerful."

Luo Feng paled. "You know him?"

"Yes. His father, Li Yao, is a high-level War God. His mother is the sister of the Polenas clan leader and serves as the HR Alliance's China Division CEO."

The color drained from Luo Feng's face. He had never expected such a pedigree. Killing Li Wei was like poking a dragon in the eye.

"Rowan, what should I do?" he asked.

Rowan shrugged, smiling. "Deny it. You're already running, aren't you? As long as they can't prove anything, they can't touch you."

Still, Luo Feng's eyes flickered with worry. His thoughts went to his parents, to Luo Hua.

Rowan saw through him instantly. "You're worried they'll go after your family if they suspect you."

Luo Feng nodded, jaw tight.

"I'll arrange a special squad to protect them," Rowan promised. "No one will harm them under my watch."

Relief washed over Luo Feng. "Thank you, Rowan."

For Luo Feng, Rowan's loyalty was worth more than gold. In that moment, he silently swore that one day, he would repay Rowan's kindness, even if it cost his life.
