Rainbow's voice sounded in Aiden's mind again, laced with annoyance. "What do you want to say now? I want to sleep."
Aiden sat down on his bed and gently cupped Rainbow's tiny body in his hands.
"Why do you like sleeping so much? Are you sick or something? Should I take you to the vet?" Aiden asked the bird softly.
"Are you treating me like a pet?" Rainbow's voice shot back mentally.
"Aren't you?" Aiden countered.
"I'm not a pet, okay? I'm a spirit animal! Have you ever seen a pet that talks before? And the reason I'm sleeping so much is to regain my energy so I can quickly recover my abilities."
Aiden nodded. "Fine. I'll let you go back to sleep after you've answered some of my questions."
"Fine," Rainbow conceded.
Aiden began his questions. "If you say that I'm a Tribrid, how come the school doesn't know that? They only thought one of my powers would manifest, and that the other two bloodlines would simply elevate the power of the one that did."
