Massive regions of reality existed inside the Null, separated not by normal distance but by power, laws, and authority.
Lower domains stretched across the endless dark like continents. Creatures moved there that would have been treated as gods in ordinary worlds.
Some hunted dying universes.
Others built kingdoms and cities.
Wars happened across distances larger than entire multiverses.
Yet the view did not stop in the lower Null.
It moved upward.
The meaning of direction became strange there.
There was no true sky.
No true ground.
To move upward meant approaching domains with greater laws and greater authority.
The Lower Null faded beneath.
The Middle Domains appeared.
Here, gods did not rule simply because they were gods.
Gods served.
Gods fought.
Gods died.
Armies moved through dimensional roads.
Fortresses floated inside black storms.
Massive beasts carried cities on their backs.
