Chapter 47 - 12. Meeting New Companions

Merslin, Kaila, and Adeon were exploring the forests of the Frontier Kingdom, searching for clues about the Shadow-kin. The deeper they went into the forest, the darker and more ominous the woods became.

"This forest is really strange. I feel a sinister energy," Kaila said.

"Traces of the Shadow-kin might be here. We must be careful," Merslin replied.

Just then, a scream echoed from the distance. Merslin and his companions immediately ran towards the sound. Following the noise, they discovered a party of novice adventurers—consisting of Tarakhan the Sorcerer, Ria the Healer, and Sera the Rogue—being attacked by a powerful monster.

Tarakhan tried to hold back the monster using powerful magic, but his spells, unlike those of a wizard, were not prepared and thus were unstable. Ria was struggling to heal her injured companions, and Sera tried to draw the monster's attention with her quick movements, but it was not enough.

"We have to help them!" Merslin shouted.

Merslin charged at the monster, drawing its attention. Kaila and Adeon joined the battle, protecting the novice adventurers. Adeon used his shield to defend, while Kaila swiftly slashed at the monster.

Merslin unleashed a powerful assault combining magic and swordsmanship. Flames erupted from his sword, and the monster fell to his attack. Ria, exhausted, barely managed to continue healing the injured.

After the battle ended, Merslin and his companions approached the novice adventurers to check on their condition. Tarakhan thanked them, admitting their own shortcomings.

"Thank you so much. We were struggling due to the absence of a warrior in our party. Thank you for helping us," Tarakhan said.

"We've been in similar situations. The important thing is to help and learn from each other. Where are you headed?" Merslin asked.

"We were looking for clues about the Shadow-kin. They've been threatening our village," Sera replied.

"It seems we have the same goal. We'll be stronger if we work together," Kaila said.

Ria struggled to her feet and said, "But I have no more strength to heal. I'm too exhausted from tending to everyone."

At that moment, Adeon stepped forward. "I will help with my Recovery Aura. As a paladin, I can aid in your recovery."

Adeon raised his hand and spread his Recovery Aura. As his aura expanded, the injuries of the novice party began to heal. Ria, amazed by Adeon's ability, bowed her head.

"Thank you so much. I think I can find my strength again now," Ria said.

The two parties agreed to cooperate, sharing their abilities and experiences. Tarakhan offered his knowledge of magic, Ria her healing abilities, and Sera her roguish skills, while Merslin's party provided their strengths in combat and defense. For now, they suspended their search for clues in the forest to care for the injured and returned safely to the village.

After returning to the village, the two parties rested at an inn and shared their stories. Listening to Tarakhan, Ria, and Sera, Merslin and his companions felt it was important to form a stronger team to fight against the threat of the Shadow-kin.

"We are still novices, but we want to become stronger. We've learned a lot thanks to your help," Tarakhan said.

"I need more combat experience in addition to my healing abilities. Together, we could help more people," Ria said.

"I agree. I think we can achieve greater goals with you all," Sera added.

Merslin, Kaila, and Adeon decided to form a new party with Tarakhan, Ria, and Sera. They resolved to become a stronger team by utilizing their individual strengths and by helping and learning from one another.

"If we are all together, we can stop the threat of the Shadow-kin. As new companions, let us embark on this adventure together," Merslin said.

"Yes, together we can overcome any threat!" they all replied in one voice.

The newly formed party finished their preparations to search for clues about the Shadow-kin and moved forward with stronger teamwork. They were determined to utilize each other's abilities to the fullest and formed an even stronger bond to stop the threat of the Shadow-kin

Episode : The Difference Between the Ancients and Sorcerers

Merslin and his companions were resting at an inn with their newly formed party. While resting their weary bodies from battle and long travel, they shared stories and satisfied their curiosities. The warm light of the fireplace illuminated the room, and the sound of the wind could be heard from outside.

In the inn's lounge, Merslin and his companions, along with Tarakhan, Ria, and Sera, sat comfortably and talked.

Merslin approached Tarakhan and said, "Tarakhan, I heard you are a natural-born magic user. I'm curious about how a sorcerer uses magic."

Tarakhan smiled and replied, "A sorcerer uses magic through innate talent. We naturally feel the flow of magic and can unleash powerful spells through it. However, we are different from wizards, who use prepared magic. We sorcerers tend to use magic improvisationally."

Merslin brought up the story of the Ancients. "It is said that the Ancients used incredible magic. Their magic was very sophisticated and powerful. According to the records, they studied magic and used it in a systematic, prepared manner."

Tarakhan grew interested. "The Ancients were real? I'm curious about what their magic was like."

Merslin nodded and explained. "The Ancients studied magic and accumulated knowledge through grimoires. They prepared and used magic systematically, like wizards. The difference is that sorcerers use magic improvisationally through their innate talent."

Tarakhan fell into thought. "I can naturally feel and use magic, but it's interesting to think about using it through systematic preparation like the Ancients. Their knowledge must have been truly incredible."

Ria joined the conversation. "The magic of the Ancients sounds amazing. As a healer, I borrow the power of nature, but I have not learned systematic magic."

Sera nodded in agreement. "I'm a rogue, but I've always found magic fascinating. Tarakhan's improvisational magic is cool, and the Ancients' prepared magic is also intriguing."

Merslin began to talk about his own magic. "Actually, I use magic through the Korean language. Korean is a powerful magical language, and I can manifest magic by using specific words and sentences."

Tarakhan asked in surprise, "Korean language magic? How does that work?"

Merslin smiled and explained. "Korean language magic uses the power of the language itself to amplify magical energy. For example, if I pronounce the word for 'flame' (bulggot), a flame actually appears. This is likely related to the magic of the Ancients as well."

Tarakhan sank into deep thought. "The magic of the Ancients, Korean language magic... they are all interesting methods. Perhaps I don't have to remain just a sorcerer. I could study the ways of the Ancients and become a wizard."

Merslin nodded encouragingly. "That is a wonderful goal, Tarakhan. If you learn the knowledge of the Ancients and master systematic magic, you could become a powerful wizard."

The two came to a deeper understanding of each other's magical methods and discussed how to cooperate in their future adventures. Tarakhan would support the battle with his improvisational magic, while Merslin would aid the team with systematic strategies and prepared magic.

"Let's make the most of each other's strengths in our adventures ahead. If you support the battle with your improvisational magic, I will help the team with prepared magic and strategy," Merslin said.

"Sounds good, Merslin. Together, we can overcome any challenge," Tarakhan replied.

Understanding each other's magical styles, Merslin and Tarakhan resolved to display even stronger teamwork in their future adventures. They would support the team by maximizing their strengths and would face even more powerful enemies. Tarakhan, embracing the possibility of growing into a wizard, decided to explore the knowledge of the Ancients.

Episode : The Ancient Waypoint

Merslin, Kaila, Adeon, Tarakhan, Ria, and Sera gathered again at the inn. They resolved to gather the information and resources necessary to stop the threat of the Shadow-kin. This time, Merslin spoke of the ancient waypoint he had seen in Celesta and proposed they try to find one on the continent of Luminaria.

Everyone was gathered in the inn's meeting room, listening to Merslin. The room was quiet, with all attention focused on his words.

"In Celesta, I discovered an ancient waypoint by myself. It was an old teleportation device that helped me travel quickly. However, its magic had weakened over time, and it didn't function properly, so I had to find another way," Merslin began.

Tarakhan grew interested. "A waypoint... you're saying a device similar to the one you saw in Celesta might exist here too?"

Merslin nodded. "That's right. Through an ancient document, I found a way to fully activate the waypoints. I believe there's a high probability that the same devices exist on the continent of Luminaria."

Tarakhan nodded and said, "While studying ancient ruins, I heard of a similar device. But I don't know its exact location or how it operates."

Ria added, "I've also heard such stories during my travels, but I've never seen one in person."

"If we can find these waypoints near the Luminaria Kingdom and the Frontier Kingdom, it will be a great help to our movements and operations. Is everyone ready?" Merslin proposed his plan.

Everyone answered with determined voices. "Yes, we're ready!"

They decided to explore the ancient ruins near the Luminaria and Frontier Kingdoms. Based on old maps and information, the first destination they chose was an ancient ruin site in the Luminaria Kingdom.

As they traveled, they shared their individual experiences and knowledge. Sera moved stealthily, scouting the surroundings, while Ria prepared to tend to any injuries.

Finally, they arrived at the ancient ruin site near the Luminaria Kingdom. In the center of the site stood a giant waypoint. It was covered in ancient symbols and mechanical devices.

Merslin stepped forward. "Let's try to activate this one, just like the waypoint in Celesta."

Tarakhan and Merslin began to investigate the waypoint together. Tarakhan sensed the ancient magical energy, while Merslin tried to activate the waypoint using his Korean language magic.

Tarakhan said, "This device operates on ancient magic. We need to reawaken that energy."

Merslin replied, "Let's try to amplify the energy using Korean magic. I'll try using the word for 'Activation'."

Merslin shouted "활성화 (Hwalseonghwa)!" in Korean, but the waypoint did not respond. The magical energy flared up unstably, and the attempt failed.

Ria said, "It's no use. The waypoint isn't working properly. We have to find another way."

Merslin examined the area around the ruin more closely. He discovered a stone slab engraved with ancient symbols. As he looked at the symbols in detail, he realized they were related to the ancient waypoints.

"This is... a document related to the ancient waypoints. We should be able to fully activate the waypoint with this," Merslin said.

Merslin and Tarakhan followed the instructions written in the ancient document to try and reactivate the waypoint. Tarakhan drew up the ancient magical energy, and Merslin amplified it with his Korean magic.

"I think we can succeed this time. Is everyone ready?" Merslin asked.

"Alright, let's begin," Tarakhan said.

As Merslin and Tarakhan chanted the spell together, the waypoint began to glow brightly. Magical energy flowed through the mechanical parts, and the waypoint slowly awakened.

Ria exclaimed, "It's a success! The waypoint is starting to work."

They prepared to travel to their first destination through the waypoint. Everyone gathered at the center of the device.

"Now we can travel much faster through the waypoints we find. This will be a great help in our future explorations," Merslin said.

"Is everyone ready? Then let's go," Kaila said.

Watching the waypoint operate, Tarakhan fell deep into thought. He said to himself, "I want to know more about this waypoint. My master would surely have more information about this ancient magic."

He made a decision. "I have to tell everyone my plan. I think the time has come for me to seek out my master."
