The pavilions, crafted from rare and precious woods, blended seamlessly with the canyon's natural landscape, as if they had grown from the earth itself. The harmony between architecture and nature was so profound that Wu Tong felt as though he had stepped into a celestial palace nestled among the mountains.
Walking along the cobblestone path flanked by lush greenery—purifying the air while adding aesthetic charm—Wu Tong and Dugu Bo listened as the maintenance staff introduced the facilities.
"Master Wu Tong, Lord Poison Douluo, this area houses the academic buildings, while that section consists of student dormitories..."
In total, the academy boasted 180 pavilions, each meticulously placed throughout the canyon. Classrooms, laboratories, training grounds, simulated cultivation environments, dormitories for students and faculty, administrative offices, dining halls—every conceivable structure, essential or otherwise, had been integrated into the landscape with masterful precision.
Before long, the group arrived at the heart of the canyon, where a pristine lake cradled a small island. Though modest in size, the island spanned 50 square kilometers, its surface blanketed in grass and trees but otherwise untouched.
Wu Tong shot a questioning glance at the maintenance staff.
"This island was left intentionally vacant," the staff member quickly explained. "It is entirely at your discretion, Master Wu Tong."
Wu Tong nodded in approval. Perfect for transplanting rare herbs. Once he returned from his upcoming travels, he would relocate the Ice Fire Yin Yang Eye here. With his current abilities—enhanced by his mastery of dimensional manipulation—moving even an entire mountain would be trivial.
After a brief tour of the island, the group continued their inspection of the academy.
Three hours later, Wu Tong had seen it all. Even by his exacting standards, the academy was flawless. The construction prowess of the Defense Clan left him thoroughly impressed.
But the crown jewel was a treehouse villa deep within the canyon, its structure fused with an ancient, towering tree. The villa exuded a soothing natural aura, radiating tranquility.
This will be my residence, Wu Tong decided at first sight.
Though nestled within the canyon, clever design ensured every pavilion basked in sunlight. Wu Tong could already envision the golden dawn piercing through the mist, casting a gentle glow over the rooftops, each tile shimmering with a soft luminescence.
Once the others had departed, Dugu Bo broke the silence.
"Well? Does it meet your standards? I oversaw every step of its construction."
Even after witnessing its gradual rise, the sight of the academy still left Dugu Bo awestruck. Pride swelled within him as he awaited Wu Tong's verdict.
"It's perfect—exactly to my taste," Wu Tong replied without hesitation. "I've decided: I'm moving in today. That treehouse villa will be my new home."
The canyon's serene atmosphere, coupled with the refreshing air, had sealed his resolve.
Dugu Bo chuckled. "Good. I'm glad you approve."
Then, his expression turned serious. "But what about the faculty? The semester starts soon, and you haven't hired a single teacher. Surely you don't plan to teach every student yourself?"
The thought alone gave him a headache. While Wu Tong remained worry-free, Dugu Bo had been stressing over the impending deadline.
"Relax, I have a plan," Wu Tong assured him. "I'll have more than enough teachers by then."
With the ability to traverse worlds, recruiting faculty was the least of his concerns. Hundreds—if not thousands—of candidates awaited him.
"Fine, it's your call," Dugu Bo sighed. "Just remember, I'm only here in name. Don't expect me to handle administrative work."
"Of course—wait, what did you just say?"
Wu Tong's eyes narrowed.
"You're the academy's Chancellor, aren't you?" Dugu Bo said, raising an eyebrow. "Or did you plan to dump the role on me?"
Chancellor?!
Wu Tong's face darkened.
Is this old man trying to ruin my life?
After enduring the grind in his past life and struggling through his early years in this world, Wu Tong had finally achieved invincibility—only to be shackled with administrative duties?!
No. Absolutely not.
"I'll be the Chancellor in name only," Wu Tong declared. "But we'll need a Vice-Chancellor to handle the actual work."
His mind raced. The whole point of establishing this academy was to cultivate powerful allies and elevate the world's strength—earning rewards from both the world itself and the chat group. Being tied down by paperwork would defeat the purpose.
Good thing I'm heading to the Honkai World soon.
Not only would he recruit teachers, but he'd also snag a Vice-Chancellor.
Ideally, someone like Theresa Apocalypse—she managed St. Freya flawlessly.
Though convincing her might be tricky...
Failing that, Murata Himeko would do. She's easy to please—just give her an island.
A smirk tugged at Wu Tong's lips as his plan took shape.
Actually… the Genshin World has plenty of workaholics too—Neuvillette, Jean, Ganyu, Kamisato Ayato...
Why settle for one world when I can cherry-pick from two?
