After a while, Laxus came back from his request and was immediately called to Makarov's office.
The four men then sat down and the impatient Laxus urged Nicolas to tell them what he wanted.
"Well, this isn't really a secret but it never came up so I didn't tell either.
You guys should know that me and the others are all dragon slayers raised by dragons but that should be impossible because the dragons are all dead in this era."
Everyone just nodded quietly confirming Nicolas's thoughts.
"Actually, we all came from 400 years ago using a magic gate called Eclipse."
While Laxus and Makarov were surprised, Gildarts shrugged it and said while picking his nose.
"So, does that have any relations with the thing you need my help for?"
"Yeah. The reason why we moved to this era was because the ethernano was too scarce during our era so we decided to move to an era where ethernano was abundant.
We needed to become strong enough to beat a dragon named Acnologia." Nicolas said.
Makarov stood up from his seat and asked. "You mean Acnologia, the black dragon in the book of apocalypse?!"
Nicolas nodded to confirm Makarov's thoughts while Gildarts just asked if that dragon is really that strong.
"This is just speculation but I think he is even stronger than all of the five dragon gods combined. He is immune to magic so I've still got no proper idea on how to beat him even now.
I've got a plan that is still cooking right now so it's best not to mention it now but the only plan I can think outside of that right now, is to somehow get him on a giant vehicle and have Wendy cast a spell on us, dragon slayers to stop our motion sickness. Then we beat the living crap out of him while he's sick."
"Huh?! Does Dragons get motion sickness too?" the confused Gildarts asked.
"I don't know about dragons but Acnologia is a dragon slayer so there's a 90% chance he has that weakness."
"Didn't you just say that he was a dragon? Why did he suddenly become a dragon slayer?" Laxus asked.
Gildarts already saw Elefseria so he could piece the puzzle together.
"Well, dragon slayers eventually become dragon themselves when they become strong enough."
Nicolas then made dragon scales appear on his arm and said.
"See? This is the side effects of becoming a dragon slayer."
Laxus thought it looked cool so he asked why couldn't transform even though he was now as strong as Nicolas four years ago but Nicolas just responded that second generation dragon slayers couldn't transform into dragons and that even if Laxus could transform, he couldn't go back to human form and would be stuck as a dragon forever.
He also explained the downsides of being transformed to a dragon like not being able to taste anything.
After hearing the drawbacks, Laxus let out a sigh of relief that he was a second-generation dragon slayer instead.
"That's also why our dragons suddenly disappeared. They're just inside our bodies, creating antibodies to stop the Dragonification but I would like you guys to keep that as a secret from Natsu and the others."
Makarov and the others just accepted to keep the secret since they knew that Nicolas probably had a reason to keep it from the other dragon slayers.
"Well, concerning Acnologia, all we can do is raise some dragon slayers and become stronger." Nicolas said while smirking but his face turned serious once again.
"But there is another threat we must beat that is arguably on the same level as Acnologia and this time, it should be directly related to the guild."
The other three were already surprised enough about Acnologia but Nicolas told them that there is another opponent equaling the strongest creature in the world.
"It's the dark mage Zeref." Nicolas said since he didn't want to keep them in suspense.
"How could a person be alive for over 400 years." the stunned Makarov asked.
Nicolas then explained that Zeref tried to revive his younger brother. He was then cursed by the god of life and death Ankhseram, cursed with immortality and killing everything he loves.
He also explained that all of the demons he created were just means to kill himself but all them were failures so he threw them away.
"For now, Zeref still possesses his humanity so now he just hides in places without people or life but if he throws away his humanity, he'll most likely invade our guild."
"Huh?! Why would he target us?" The confused Laxus and Gildarts were wondering but Makarov's face was pale because he had an idea about why Zeref would target the guild.
"It seems that you already connected the dots, old man. It's exactly that thing you're thinking about."
"I have no idea about what you may be implying that I was thinking about." Makarov said pretending to play dumb while also suspicious about what Nicolas was implying.
"No need to play dumb, old man. I've already told you that I know most important things about the guild. It's just a corpse in a crystal so no need to hide it. It's not like you're the one who did it anyway."
Makarov then asked how Nicolas knew about Lumen Histoire since nobody should be aware of that and he even had to boot his own son from the guild for trying to steal that.
Seeing Makarov's unrelenting gaze, Nicolas sighed and said.
'Oh well, As long as I don't say that I'm a reincarnator, nothing else matter. It's not like they'll suddenly turn on me for knowing future.
As soon as I arrived, the future was in shambles and may even lead to our defeat in the future so I need to warn them strictly.'
"I know the future, old man. On 7th July x777, I directly went to the guild although I shouldn't have even known of its existence since I knew that Natsu would be taken in by you."
Makarov accepted Nicolas's answer since they already knew that he came from the past so knowing the future isn't that much of a stretch. Makarov also didn't bother asking why Nicolas knew the future since he saw that Nicolas was reluctant to talk about it.
"So, you know what would've happened if I took the 100 years quest right?" the curious Gildarts asked.
"Yeah. You encountered Acnologia and he got your left arm and leg, also your guts. The only reason you were alive was because he thinks humans are ants so he didn't bother with you. So, you should be careful. Now that you're about to become a dragon slayer, he'll definitely kill you if he sees you."
Seeing Gildarts's uncomfortable expression, Makarov interrupted their conversation and asked again.
"So when is Zeref supposed to attack us?"
"If things don't change then in x792 but I wouldn't put my hopes on that since the future I saw is a timeline where I'm not present. And I've already made countless changes to this timeline so the butterfly effect could change the future beyond recognition."
"So… what have you changed exactly?" Makarov asked since he was quite curious about the changes Nicolas made.
"Well, for instance, I shouldn't have been part of the eclipse but I somehow went with them. Also, Gajeel, Wendy, Sting and Rogue shouldn't have been part of the guild at this point in time. There's also Gildarts's changes."
After confirming everything, Makarov finally asked about Zeref's forces.
"The whole Alvarez empire in the west continent is Zeref's forces. He's the king of Alvarez."
The faces of all three of them darkened quickly, not expecting that they would have to face a super empire.
"And that's not even the worst part. If it were only foot soldier mages, it would've been infinitely easier but, in the future, there's at least 10 people as strong as Gildarts and 2 people much stronger than Gildarts on top of Zeref himself."
"So did we get wiped out in the future you saw?" Laxus asked clearly worried about the outcome.
"No, we somehow won against both Zeref and Acnologia but the problem is that the moment I came to the guild, it already changed. That's why I decided to have this meeting to have some contingency plans."
"So, what's the plan going forward?" Gildarts asked.
"After you control that Dragon Lacrima, the two of us will go to Elentear to create a base and train there.
But for now, I plan to recruit some people that could help us in the future."
Gildarts asked where Elentear was so Nicolas explained that it was a parallel world with overflowing ethernano so it was great for training and that the reason why he stayed with Elefseria was to learn the magic to go there.
"Hey! I want to go too!!" Laxus said thinking that he'd get excluded.
"Laxus, I want to bring you too but you're too weak for now. That world is the territory of the Moon dragon god Selene. Although she probably won't kill us, she'll definitely send some troubles our way before agreeing to hear us out.
Selene is known to be a dragon that just wants entertainment but she couldn't care less about human life. Gildarts and I are strong enough to at least survive in case something happens.
I don't want you to become collateral damage to relieve a dragon's boredom."
Laxus winced after hearing that he would be dead weight if he went with them but still complied since he knew that Nicolas wouldn't joke around with things like that.
While Gildarts was smirking excited at the thought of fighting some strong opponents.
