"Good morning."
In the morning, at Hinotori Publishing's entrance, Yumi and Miku met. After greeting each other, they entered the Hinotori Building together.
"Miku, have you seen Mirai-sensei's One Piece?"
Yumi asked. The two artists have been at Hinotori Publishing for several months. In addition to the weekly program "Pokémon", they also participated in the dubbing of "Fate/Stay Night". Now they know the company very well.
"I've seen it. I think it's great. Sales are also good, but media coverage is somewhat less."
Miku and Yumi entered the elevator together and started chatting.
"The media are also helpless. A well-known journalist told me that they are almost crazy about Mirai-sensei's work. They don't want to be ridiculed again, so they just don't write... I died laughing."
"But everyone is talking about One Piece. In fact, it doesn't matter whether it's published or not."
"That's right, that's right!"
Riko felt the same way. Many of her friends commented on One Piece. This manga practically has no audience limit. A few days ago, Riko tried to take it to her father. Unexpectedly, the old man also read it enthusiastically.
"Lately, Kanto Manga Company has also started to keep quiet. They don't promote new mangaka or comment on One Piece. Miku, do you think... they're scared of Mirai-sensei?"
Miku smiled upon hearing this.
"If I were them, I'd be speechless."
Kanto Manga Company spent a fortune promoting "Weekly Boutique" to establish a model for high-quality manga magazines in Japan. As a result, just one month later, Hinotori Publishing's "Mirai Manga" appeared. It crushed "Weekly Boutique". Including Aika, Kanto's effort was in vain.
"How unlucky they are. Why did they have to mess with Mirai-sensei?"
Yumi shook her head and sighed. She wasn't very familiar with manga sales, but she knew that Mirai-sensei was the best in that field. It was difficult for Kanto Manga Company to negotiate with him in the area where he excelled.
Mirai-sensei also worked in two other areas: anime and video games, and he didn't fail! Yumi participated in his production, so she knew Mirai-sensei's power.
"Pokémon", this anime, is known as the number one in Japan. The ratings of NHK's two anime are not as good. In addition, Osaka television's audience has increased. Even voice actors like them have benefited. Recently, they have been interviewed by television stations.
Yumi relied on this animation. Although she is not famous, her life is much better than a few months ago.
Another work by Mirai-sensei is "Fate/Stay Night". It is very specialized, but its impact is unimaginable to ordinary people. The entire video game industry has been swept into a whirlwind of text adventures. Not only mangaka, but also voice actors have received numerous invitations from video game companies.
Thanks to "Pokémon" and "Fate/Stay Night", as well as other external voice acting opportunities, Yumi's income has become abundant.
She learned that Hinotori Publishing plans to create an independent voice acting agency, and Yumi decided to join. She believes that the voice acting industry will have greater development.
After anime and video games, all voice actors are very happy with their original choice and all trust Mirai-sensei. He has great potential in anime and video games. Kanto, in fact, worked with manga, where he is the best. It is simply asking for trouble.
With these ideas in mind, Yumi and Miku went backstage, prepared by the anime production department for voice actors.
The other voice actors had already arrived, both men and women, and were chatting animatedly. Yumi heard that the topic they were talking about was also One Piece.
"It's almost time to work, why don't you shut up? Aren't you afraid of damaging your voice by talking so loudly?"
Miku stood aside, put her bag in the locker, and asked with a smile.
A voice actress replied: "Okay, Miku, let's talk about Luffy, the protagonist of One Piece... That kind of passionate man is really good, Miku, do you like him too?"
"No." Miku locked the locker, walked over, and smiled: "I like Conan more."
"Why?"
Others were curious; Conan is an elementary school student.
"Because Conan is smarter." Miku pointed to her head and replied: "I like smart boys."
"If you say so, I actually prefer Takaki from "Five Centimeters Per Second"; he gives me a very real feeling, like the boy next door."
Another voice actor expressed his opinion, and the others began to disagree.
"Then I like the male protagonist of Inuyasha. He has furry ears and it makes me want to touch them."
"And what about One Piece's protagonist? Why did you suddenly change your mind?... Then, I also like the protagonist of "Bakuman", he is very loyal to his feelings."
"The protagonist of "Ouran High School Host Club" isn't bad either..."
"In the end, everyone likes different characters!"
A group of women laughed, and the male voice actors also talked about their favorite female characters, and the backstage became lively. Yumi put the gift in the locker, feeling that Mirai-sensei's works are charming, as if they reflect everyone's preferences.
After putting away the gift, she turned, smiled, and joined the conversation: "In fact, we all like the same thing."
Everyone looked at her.
Yumi raised a finger and said: "We all like Mirai-sensei!"
The entire backstage was silent for two seconds, and then burst into laughter. However, the laughter did not last long. Suddenly, everyone covered their mouths. They looked towards the door, and a young man entered, humming a song.
"What's wrong with you?"
He stopped and looked at the group of people covering their mouths in surprise.
"Shiori, Shiori..." Yumi recovered first and wiped the cold sweat: "Didn't you hear what I just said?"
Mirai-sensei is this girl's Achilles' heel. Last time, a voice actress joked that she liked Mirai-sensei, but Shiori "accidentally" broke an iron bar on the spot, scaring everyone so they didn't dare to talk about it in front of her.
"What did you say?" Shiori tilted her head strangely, but she didn't probe, instead pulling Yumi and saying excitedly: "Yumi, please look at my messages!"
She took out her phone to show Yumi: they were text messages from Takumi.
Yumi looked at them curiously several times and found that Shiori sent good night messages to Takumi every night, and the messages were crowded, but yesterday Takumi had replied with that sentence.
"Don't send it again, good night."
Seeing this message, Yumi's eyes filled with compassion. She felt that Shiori was very pitiful. Isn't it too cruel for Mirai-sensei to be so indifferent?
"He replied good night, it's the first time...". However, Shiori was very excited. She seemed not to notice Yumi's compassionate gaze; her face was full of joy.
"Yumi, do you know the meaning of good night? Wanan means 'I love you, I love you.' I look forward to his reply like this every day. Oh... He finally told me this...".
Shiori raised the phone like a treasure.
Yumi's heart became a little complicated. Her thoughts suddenly changed and she began to sympathize with Mirai-sensei.
