Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

Movie Time Mishaps

Adrian pushed Elsa all the way to the front of the cinema, where they saw Yuni, Monic, Sinta, Erik, and Toni already waiting. As soon as Yuni saw the two approaching, Yuni immediately pulled the others to meet them.

"Well, there you are, hehe," Yuni said.

"Sorry we took so long," Adrian replied.

"No worries, bro. You just woke up, I heard," Toni said.

"Yeah, stayed up late last night," Adrian said, pretending.

"Whoa, how many rounds last night?" Erik quipped.

"Rounds?" Adrian asked, confused.

"You, you really! Can't your brain move a little towards something appropriate? Stop thinking about that stuff all the time," Monic scolded Erik.

"Oh, sorry, sorry, hahaha, sorry, bro, I was just kidding," Erik replied.

"Yeah, it's fine, but what did you mean?" Adrian asked, genuinely not understanding.

"Enough, you don't need to ask," Elsa said, her face red.

"Oh, okay," Adrian replied.

"Alright, let's go, let's get in line for tickets," Yuni suggested.

"Yeah, it might get full otherwise," Sinta added.

Finally, they all went into the cinema together. Since only the guys were in line, Adrian pushed Elsa's wheelchair to the side, parallel to where Yuni, Sinta, and Monic were sitting.

"Oh, right, can I bring a wheelchair inside?" Elsa asked.

"Uh... oh yeah, I don't think so," Sinta replied.

"Oh dear, I forgot," Yuni said.

"It's okay," Elsa replied.

"I'll tell your man, so he doesn't have to buy a ticket," Monic said, standing up.

"No need, just let him. I want to watch too," Elsa replied.

"Then how will you get in?" Yuni asked.

"I'll just ask him to carry me," Elsa answered.

"Aww... how sweet," Sinta teased.

Meanwhile, Adrian, who was in line for tickets with Toni and Erik, looked over at where the girls were sitting.

"Which one do you pick, Ton? The one in the wheelchair is off limits," Erik said.

"You demon! No way, we're all friends. Your brain is messed up," Toni retorted.

"Hey, sorry, I'm asking this: can we bring a wheelchair inside?" Adrian asked.

"Oh, good point, yeah. I don't know either, I've never seen anyone watch a movie in a wheelchair. Just ask later," Erik replied.

"Oh, I see. Maybe we can leave it somewhere?" Adrian suggested.

"Leave what?" Toni asked.

"The wheelchair, of course," Adrian replied.

"Hmm, maybe. But then, how will Elsa get in?" Toni asked again.

"I'll just carry her," Adrian replied.

"Damn, I'm genuinely jealous," Erik muttered.

"Haha, move on, bro, your time has passed," Toni replied.

"Have you ever carried Elsa?" Adrian asked Erik.

"No way! She gets mad if I even brush against her, let alone carry her, hahaha," Erik answered.

"Yeah, I still clearly remember she slapping you in junior high, hahaha," Toni added.

"That was because I accidentally pushed you, you turtle! Her wheelchair moved," Erik countered.

"Oh, yeah, you're right, hahaha, that was my fault, wasn't it," Toni replied.

"Where did you go to junior high, Adrian?" Erik asked.

"Um... at home," Adrian replied.

"Huh? Home?" Erik asked again.

"Yeah, I couldn't leave the house when I was little, so I was home schooled from elementary to junior high," Adrian answered.

Erik and Toni immediately fell silent, not wanting to ask any further. Then, they both looked normal again.

"Well, anyway, now we're together, right, bro?" Toni said, putting his arm around Adrian.

"Yeah, you're right," Adrian replied, a little confused.

Finally, they reached the ticket machine. After choosing the movie they wanted to watch and their seats, the tickets printed out. After that, the three of them went to the cafe inside the cinema. After ordering food and about to pay, Adrian took out his wallet from his sling chest bag and pulled out his ATM card. He handed it to the cashier. After paying,

"How much, bro? Here's my money, Sinta and I are together," Toni said.

"Same, I'll pay for Yuni and Monic too," Erik added.

"It's fine, you don't have to," Adrian replied.

"Hey, seriously? That's really nice of you," Erik replied.

"Yeah, really, I don't have cash either, so I can't give change," Adrian replied.

"Hahaha, alright, where's the receipt?" Toni asked.

"I already threw it away. I told you it's fine, don't talk about it anymore. Come on, let's go over there, they're waiting," Adrian answered.

Adrian walked away, carrying popcorn and drinks for himself and Elsa, while Erik and Toni watched him from behind.

"Is he seriously paying for us?" Erik asked.

"Yeah, looks like it. It wasn't a small amount, either," Toni replied.

"That's true. Well, lucky us," Erik responded.

"After this, if we eat, we'll pay," Toni said.

"Oh, yeah, good point," Erik replied.

They finally walked, following Adrian, who had already gone ahead to the seats where the girls were waiting, carrying their orders. After Erik and Toni sat in the seats next to them, they looked at Adrian, who was standing behind Elsa's wheelchair.

"Sit down, bro," Toni invited, shifting over.

"No need, I'll just stand here," Adrian replied.

"You should sit down, it's fine," Elsa said, looking back.

"It's okay, I'll just stay here," Adrian replied.

"Why, bro? Got a boil on your butt?" Erik joked.

"Haha, no, I just feel like standing," Adrian answered.

"Hmm, afraid your wife will disappear?" Sinta teased.

"Hmm, not really, but it's a bit awkward," Adrian replied.

"Awkward, why? Don't be shy with us," Monic said.

"Yeah, you're right, Adrian, relax," Yuni added.

"Yes, sit down. You must be tired of standing all the time," Elsa said, looking back.

"Okay, fine," Adrian replied.

He immediately sat next to Toni and leaned back comfortably. Thump! Toni immediately put his arm around Adrian.

"That's more like it! Our group just got another cool guy," Toni said.

"Yeah, all this time it's been mostly girls, I'm drunk," Erik replied.

"What do you mean by that?" Monic protested.

"What's 'making you drunk'?" Yuni protested.

Finally, everyone laughed and joked with each other. Elsa turned to look at Adrian, who was laughing. She took Adrian's hand and smiled. After several days with Adrian, Elsa knew that Adrian was afraid of socializing and wasn't very outgoing. Seeing him joke around with her friends made Elsa happy.

"Hehe, now you have friends too. I'm happy," Elsa thought to herself.

"Why?" Adrian asked, turning to look at Elsa with a smile on his face.

"Nothing," Elsa replied.

Adrian turned his hand and tightly squeezed Elsa's hand, continuing to listen to their friends' jokes. Not long after, the theater doors opened. Adrian pushed Elsa inside, then he lifted Elsa and carried her. After that, he squatted down, folded Elsa's wheelchair, and carried it.

"Is it heavy?" Elsa asked.

"No, it's light," Adrian replied, struggling a little because he also had to carry the wheelchair.

"Hey, over here," Toni said, taking the wheelchair from Adrian's hand.

"Oh, thanks, that's really helpful," Adrian replied.

"No problem, let's go," Toni replied.

When they reached their seats, everyone immediately sat down according to their tickets. But when Adrian sat down, he saw that the seat next to him was occupied. When he looked at his ticket, it turned out his number was swapped with Erik's, who was already sitting next to Yuni, and the ticket he was holding was for the end seat, which should have been Erik's. Adrian looked at the small floating screen above Yuni's head:

[Hehe, next to Erik, I'm happy. Hope it stays this way.]

"What's wrong?" Elsa asked.

"My ticket got swapped. I'm at the end, far away, separate. Is that okay?" Adrian asked.

"Hmm, I see. Alright, you sit here," Elsa replied.

"Then you'll be at the end?" Adrian asked.

"No way, above you, hehe," Elsa replied.

"Oh... is that allowed?" Adrian asked.

"Yes, come on, sit," Elsa replied.

Adrian sat up straight, and Elsa immediately sat on Adrian's lap, then leaned her head back to rest on Adrian's chest.

"Now two become one, hehe," Elsa said.

"Yeah, that's right," Adrian replied.

Yuni turned to look at Erik next to her and saw Adrian sitting with Elsa on his lap next to Erik.

"Hey, are you two lap-sitting?" Yuni asked.

"Yeah, otherwise we'd be separated," Elsa replied.

"What? How come?" Erik asked, surprised.

Erik looked at his ticket number. He realized that the ticket he was holding should have been Adrian's.

"Whoa, we swapped, huh? Why didn't you say anything?" Erik asked, intending to stand up.

But Adrian held Erik's hand and told Erik to sit back down. Then Elsa looked at Erik next to her.

"Relax, it's fine. I'm the one who wants to sit on his lap," Elsa retorted.

"Oh, okay, if that's the case. (Turns to Yuni) Yuni, swap," Erik said.

"What? why?" Yuni asked.

"Otherwise, I won't even watch the movie, I'll just be staring at them, hahaha," Erik replied.

"Oh, come on. (Turns to Monic) Mon, tell Sinta and Toni to shift one seat, quickly," Yuni said.

"Why?" Monic asked.

Yuni pointed towards Elsa and Adrian with her thumb. Monic smiled and understood. Then she asked Sinta and Toni to move over so that Toni was at the end. After Yuni moved,

"You, come here," Yuni said, pulling Erik.

"Oh, that's right, perfect!" Erik replied, immediately shifting over, then looked at Adrian and patted the empty seat between them.

"Aww, but this position was so nice and comfy !" Elsa said.

"Okay, then, I'll move to the seat next to you," Adrian replied.

"Alright," Elsa replied.

Adrian stood up, carried Elsa, then lowered Elsa into the seat, and he sat next to her. Suddenly, tap, Adrian's shoulder was touched by Erik.

"Next time, say something, don't just stay quiet," Erik said.

"Yeah, okay, thanks," Adrian replied.

Adrian turned to look at Erik's head, and the screen above his head was blank. However, when he looked at the screen above Yuni's head:

[Nice, win-win. I'm happy, they're both comfortable too. Everyone's happy, hehe.]

Adrian smiled and began to look at the large screen in front of them, his arm reaching around Elsa next to him, whose head was resting on his chest.
