Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Luck on her side

Isaac's POV

I decided to go to a nightclub to clear my head. Jillian's words made me so furious that I can't calm myself. My trusted men were with me, the twins, Simon and Simeon.

"Boss, Sir Luther messaged me. Is your phone dead?" Simon asks, putting down his cigarette in the ashtray.

I grab my phone and check it. "It is. Ask him why," I remarked.

Simeon threw me a power bank. I place my phone on it and start charging. I need to wait at least ten percent to turn it on. Simon's phone rings.

"Boss, here. It's Sir Luther," he remarked.

I grab his phone and answer his call. "What is it, Luther? Make sure it's important. Someone ruined my mood today," I assert. I heard his sigh.

"Did Ms. Alberto go to port today, boss?" he asks.

I frowned. I checked the time and date. I forgot that I assigned her to go to the port and hijack a ship that ships illegal drugs in this region.

"She is. What's wrong?"

"Oh my! Contact her and tell her to withdraw. That ship isn't just carrying drugs but also guns and other bombs that will be used for bombing the oldest church in the city."

My eyes dilated when I heard what he said. I grab my phone and the power bank. I turned it on.

"Drop the call, Luther. Simon, call our men and check the port! They need to find Ingrid and Emilia!" I roared.

As soon as it turned on, messages came. I saw Ingrid's name. She sends a voice message. I listened to it.

"SHIT!" I cursed.

It was sent around ten in the evening. It's already 12:43 a.m.! Damn it! I dialed her number, but it's not ringing.

"Hello, send some backups in the port. Do it now! Boss," Simon says, passing his phone. We all stood up and grabbed our things.

"Gather 100 men, Alvin. Make sure that you bring extra guns and bullets. This might be a bloody battle," I remarked.

"We're on our way, boss," he replied.

I dropped the call and threw the key to Simeon. He catches the key and drives away as soon as we get inside.

"Simeon, drive the car," I remarked. I keep on dialing her phone, but it's not ringing at all. "Damn it!" I roared.

"Boss, there's no way that our intel had a mistake. I think James sensed our involvement in this matter. Maybe he was also aware that his daughter might volunteer herself to take care of this matter," Simeon commented.

I frowned and looked at him through the rearview mirror. "Simeon was right, boss. They suddenly had a stop in Monaco, which isn't a part of its original route, right? That isn't a coincidence. I think that monster plotted that change," Simon added.

My jaw clenched. I know where their conversation will go. "He wants to kill her daughter as soon as possible before she can destroy his empire. He knows that she'll be useful to me and knows some secrets of his group. That asshole!" I yell thunderously. The two of them didn't react even if they saw how furious I am.

Ingrid's POV

Emilia and I hide in a corner when we see my dad's men; they're smoking in this hallway.

"Hey, stop smoking. You all know that we have bombs and guns on this ship. Do you want to die first, huh? Remember what Boss James says. The person that should die was his traitor daughter!"

My eyes dilated. I scoff deep inside of me. For some reason, I wasn't surprised at all. I look at Emilia and shake my head. She looks furious and was about to shoot them when her eyes landed on me.

"Come on, let's go in the upper deck and continue patrolling. We're near the port. I'm sure that traitor will lead Isaac's men and hijack that ship. When that happens—boom!" he continues. They all laugh as they leave this deck. I laugh sadly and lean back.

"We must take out the innocents and show my dad who is smarter than us. Come on," I remarked.

"Can we at least kill those three? Gosh! Your dad is a total monster!" Emilia roars in a low voice.

My jaw clenched. "I was aware of that as soon as I recalled my lost memories. This action of his had proved him to be a heartless and despicable monster. I'll drag him down, Emilia. I'll make sure of that," I assert firmly.

She saw how mad I was. She settles down and talks to our men through our communication headset.

"Withdraw now. Bring those seafarers to the exit point and start leaving this ship," Emilia says. "Understood, ma'am," Erina replied.

We both stopped when we saw a shadow heading in this corner. We raised our gun and hid in the wall, waiting. We saw two shadows.

"Boss James was really ruthless. He won't spare his daughter's life. Boss Ingrid had been a loyal member and gives him everything she asks for," he says.

"But you know what, he should've asked us to capture her alive. It's a waste of beauty. You know what I mean," he added.

His partner laughs. "I also think the same way too. What if we kidnapped her in secret and acted like she died in the explosion? What do you think?"

My jaw clenched. They looked surprised when they saw us. We shot without hesitation, and they fell asleep right away.

"Should I castrate them?" Emilia asks in such a dangerous and scary tone.

"I want to, but we have to evacuate. They'll be burned anyway," I say. She shrugs her shoulder and agrees. We hide their bodies and continue our way up.

We arrive at the exit that we choose and see our men putting these seafarers in the hammock and starting to put them down where the others will take them inside the submarine. Emilia and I help too. It took us half an hour.

"Go ahead first. Let's leave this ship," I murmured.

They looked at me, hesitant, but when they saw my serious expression, they went down first. Emilia and I were the last ones who went down.

I was the one who closed the submarine, and it started to sink right away. My dad thinks of me too poorly. He thought he could kill me too easily.
