Aphrodite, born from the bloody seafoam of Uranus, made a meteoric rise to Olympus. In other words, she had no one to lean on. The other goddesses were jealous of her beauty, and Aphrodite often felt like a lonely island. But Ares, who came from a privileged background by having Zeus and Hera as his parents, wandered around Olympus aimlessly like a more isolated island than her.
Love came first, and then a sense of kinship that they couldn’t fit anywhere, like a floating weed, followed. Their relationship was that complicated. However, they were soulmates. Aphrodite loved Ares with all her heart; so did he.
But was their love really a disaster, eating each other away?
That was what she said in his dream. Though it was an illusion, Aphrodite hit the nail right on the head in his dreamland. She realized she was thinking that way implicitly. And that was Ares’ dream. He also had been noticing it. That their relationship was uncertain and fragile.
