Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

The one who has always been on my side for years, the one who supports me even when I'm doing wrong.

Dr. Felix.

"Lil Cathy, you're finally awake. If I hadn't come on time, you would have caught a cold." His voice jolted me out of my thoughts and sadness, just a little.

"Dr. Felix, how did you know I'm here? Wow, you sure get information quickly here compared to Country M, right?"

"Well, here I'm well-informed in the country," Dr. Felix replied.

"What about Judy? Is she aware you're here? And don't tell me you're here all night. I do not want her to get me wrong, Dr. Felix, or feel…" Before I could finish my sentence, Dr. Felix cut in, saying, "You know very well how Judy wants to be your friend, and she knows a lot about you. Lil Cathy, try to forget the past, please."

"Hmmm, Dr. Felix, let's not mention that right now," I replied to his nagging. Then my stomach rumbled.

"Lil Cathy, why not come to my house for now? Besides, Judy's expecting us. Where are your belongings?"

"At the hotel, not too far from Mo Company," I replied.

"What? So you never thought of staying with me, huh, Lil Cathy? You're really something. You didn't even think of going to your apartment where you lived before moving to Country M. So if you do not want to go back, why did you buy the apartment?" he asked.

"Can you please stop disturbing me with a lot of questions? Just take me to the hotel, and let's go to your apartment, I know Judy will be worried why we haven't." I cut him off, as I did not want to answer his questions.

Talking of the angel, my beautiful love, Judy called just now. "Lil Cathy," Dr. Felix informed me, a smile spreading across his face. Hmmph, I mumbled and watched him act as if he wouldn't notice her.

Dr. Felix finished his call after what seemed like an eternity. Then we entered the car, drove off to the hotel to pick up my belongings, and started the journey to Dr. Felix's house. While in the car, music played in the background. I was thinking of how Dr. Felix had been there for me through those five years through hell and heaven.

Before I knew it, we were already at his apartment. I sometimes wonder why a doctor would be living in a castle-like house. It's not as if he owns the hospital. Well, maybe one day he might reveal the reason, or maybe it's for his parents, but he has never mentioned them since we've known each other. It's more about finding solace for my mother; either way, that's not my problem.

"Cathy!" Judy shouted in excitement. "You finally showed up! I never knew you would come to our house. So sorry we've not been able to come check on you these two years you've been in Country M. You know Felix's work hasn't given him the time at all. I'm just very happy that you'll be staying with us," she said. I replied with only a "hmm" and a bear hug.

"Felix, can you show me the way to my room?" I said through gritted teeth, then turned to Judy. "Erhmm, Judy, I'll come later to eat the food you prepared," I said while giving a stiff smile and trying to wink so I would look normal.

Then Felix showed me the way to my room. Well, I wouldn't say the room Felix and Judy prepared isn't nice if there is anything better than nice, this would be it. Well, do not be surprised that I spoke that way to Judy; my past trauma still haunts me. I do not want to be friends with anybody, not to talk of the hell and heaven I passed through when I left for Country M.

Felix kept pushing his way in, but I had no choice because he had been helping me even before my mother died in the hospital. That is why I had to sound that way while talking to Judy.

I brought out my luggages to arrange my properties, as I had decided I would be staying with Felix until I finished my revenge. While arranging my luggages, I saw the envelope that was given to me by my mother through the nurse on the day she died. I had never, for once, opened it because I did not want to dwell in the past. So I kept it where I kept my toys. Yeah, guns are my toys.

I went to the Drawing Room / Workshop Felix had prepared for me. Felix, Felix, Felix… Well, Felix sometimes does give the feeling of an elder brother helping his sister out, but I'm not ready for that, as I do not want to be betrayed again. Yeah, I trust him to an extent, but there is nothing the bag won't turn people into, just like the bag made my friend betray
