Chapter 2 - Tower of troubles

Darron warns them, when something in the bushes next to Radge starts moving around. A sign that there is something hiding inside...

It was a squirrel.

Nothing but a squirrel. Relieved, they sighed and went to the tower.

It is gigantic. With its large frame that makes you look up in the sky and so many enormous doors to enter, they were mind blown.

"Wow, this ruin is bigger up close." Ethneil says in astonishment.

"It looks kinda creepy." Amarha states in a shivered tone.

Radge looks at her on disgust.

"You look even creepier."

"Oh shut up, you midget!"

"And look who's talking piglet."

They kept on bickering until they started getting a bit physical. Irritated, the rest of them looked at the two when Darron exasperatedly told them, "How do you guys fight every time you meet?"

Both of them stood in silence, looked at each other and synchronously said,

"He/She started it."

The sheer absurdity of their behavior stupefied Darron. Due to the frustrated and dumbfounded state Darron is in, he clenches his fist and decides to let it go.

As the situation continued Ladrius walks up to Ethneil.

"Let's go Ethneil. I don't think they'll ever make up."

"You're right." Ethneil admits.

"Hey guys, we're going inside now."

Upon entering the tower, sounds of howling and whistling are to be heard, and with the setting of the sun being soon, the theme of the tower started to appear much warmer.

Breathless, they began admiring the ethereal interior of the tower.

"Woah." Was the only word that Leona could say in awe of the spacious and elegant architecture of the it.

"This place is huge..." Amarha says, finally breaking the silence. But their noises alarmed the two men that were planning to leave the area quietly.

Standing on the other side of the pillar, one of the men heard a voice of a young girl echoing throughout the entire place.

"Sir, there are at least 7 little brats at the other side of the pillar. What actions shall we take?"

His superior seems to be quite irritated, by the unfortunate situation that has occurred.

"Should we kill them?"

Clenching his jaw his superior says, "For what purpose should we spill blood and leave stains? It will only bring nothing but trouble in the future. Pretend you're a guard. Go scare them off until they run away, they shouldn't even be here in the first place."

"Got it, sir."

Taken the instructions into account, the man walks to the other side and as soon as he sees a glimpse of the trespassers he immediately starts shouting at them in a rather bellowed tone.

"Hey, what are you kids doing here? This is a restricted area!"

The first person to notice the man was Radge and with his quick reaction, he immediately warned his friends.

"Um guys, someone's actually guarding this place. Let's run."

'Seriously?' Ethneil thought himself.

They all began running as fast as they could navigating their surroundings and looking for a place to hide.

"You moron, you said no one was guarding this place." Darius told Radge as they ran.

In which Radge responds, "I swear everytime I visit this place no one was here."

Getting out of the tower, Edward spots a huge boulder where all of them hides. The man chasing them arrives at their area and looks around and making sure there is no sight of them to be found.

While hiding Radge's nose started itching and he was on the verge of sneezing really hard. Luckily, Ligaya covered his nose and mouth, making him sneeze silently. Everyone that was watching sighed in relief, as they were almost caught because of Radge. Again.

"Is he finally gone?" Leona whispered.

Ladrius starts looking around and when he finally saw no one he nodded in response to Leona's question.

The moon is full, the wolves are howling and Ethneil and his friends are exhausted. Finally reaching the nearest village where they all met up. Every single one of them was catching their breath and they were all sleepy.

"We could've been in trouble." Amarha complains, thinking about what they just went through.

Full of guilt, Radge apologized for his mistake and they all listened to his apology silently.

"Sorry, I-I didn't know there was actually a guard there since I've been observing this place and I've seen no guards around."

Ethneil accepted what happened as it is and cautiously asked them, "Well there's nothing we can do about it, but did he see any of our faces?"

After a few moments Leona answered, "I don't think he recognized our faces since it was pretty dark but I noticed he was wearing a cloak when I caught a glimpse of him. It's pretty weird for a guard to wear one."

Darron seemed to find this conversation pointless since it has already happened and because he is tired and sleepy, he then tried to bid farewell to his friends.

"We'll see what happens tomorrow so let's just head back home. I'm tired"

Before they left Ethneil asked them, "Since some of us live in the same directions, let's split up?"

Everyone nods in agreement and went with the person that will be heading towards the same direction as they are. Ethneil and Leona lives in the same neighborhood being only 120 meters away from each other. Ladrius's family moved in a different neighborhood due to his mother's work, he will be going along with Darius.

Considering there are only three more left, Radge complained about whom he is stuck with soon after he realized it.

"What you want me to go with these piglet and giraffe?"

"Do you think you have the right to complain after what you made us go through? It's not like we have much of a choice either, midget." Amarha scolded him while pinching him in his back.

With this sort of action, Radge responded in a quite physical way too and so their argument got worse.

"Would the two of you just stop? How are you suppose to head home together?" Darron asked them.

They fell in silence and understood that they're also unsure as to how it's going to work.

Edward tried to calm Darron down.

"Relax, they'll be able to handle themselves, am I right?" He said with a bright smile on his face expecting them to cooperate.

One nodded feeling touched by his trust and the other nodded blushing and having a rapid heartbeat.

Sending each other off, each went to their respective places. But one group seemed to be stuck.

"Um, they've gone their own ways but..."

"Which way did we go again." Radge cluelessly asked.

Amarha just stared at him particularly long and hard.
