Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Wasting My Puppet

Antonio's POV.

Ever since I rebelled against the Chavez Mafia clan, I made it my mission to destroy them by hook or by crook.

I had always been loyal to Luca's father, making sure he could count on me as his trusted man. As part of the Chavez Mafia customs, I even got a red owl tattoo since I was now part of the family.

But instead of rewarding my good deeds, I found out he had an affair with my wife. Nothing hurt me more than this as I was so in love with Martha.

She had begged me to quit the Mafia clan, but I refused. I pledged my loyalty but Rico betrayed me.

Knowing that I had nothing left to lose, I moulded my daughter into a pawn, she was going to be the puppet I'd use to ruin the Chavez Mafia clan.

She never knew it but I was the one who killed her mother, I made her believe it was me. Martha didn't deserve to live, she deserved death for cheating on me.

But I made Aria believe that Luca did it, for years I whispered into her ears about the Chavez Mafia clan–how to get to them, how to destroy them and how to wipe them out.

I had taken care of Rico by myself but after finding out there was a surviving heir, I decided to use someone else to get to him.

My Aria was innocent but I made her into a demon. My own demon.

"You're the killer?" I heard a familiar voice break through the silence of the warehouse.

I turned to the direction of the voice, my pulse quickened seeing Aria here.

"Child, what are you doing here?" I questioned, quickly putting on my coat.

For so many years, I hid my arms from Aria's sight as I didn't want to complicate things. But judging from her expression, I knew she had seen it.

"I can't believe this. You killed my mother?" She asked, her pistol still pointed at me.

I shook my head in the negative, "No, I didn't. I loved your mother Aria, Luca did it."

Aria's eyes narrowed at me, her lips curling downwards.

My lips broke out into a soft laugh, "That's what you want to hear right?"

I had nothing to fear, after all I made the puppet. She feared me, so she wouldn't dare hurt me.

"So it was you? And you made me punish the wrong person?" She questioned, her expression shifting from disappointment to pure fury.

I took a seat on the wooden chair, crossing a leg over the other, "Yes. I wanted the Chavez Mafia clan to be ruined and you're already doing that for me. You've captured their leader!" I exclaimed excitedly.

Aria pulled out her phone, lifting it to her ear.

With an icy glare, she breathed into the phone.

"Release Luca." She said.

I immediately rose up from the chair, "Don't you dare do that! Don't test me child!"

She scoffed, placing her phone back in her pocket, "Sorry Don, but I'm no longer going to be your puppet. I call the shots now."

My brows contorted as I stepped closer to her, her face suddenly turning pale but she kept her pistol raised at me.

"I made you, Aria. And I can destroy you as well," And with that, I twisted her hand, taking the pistol from while wrapping a hand around her neck.

"Let me go!" She snapped, struggling to break free from my grip but I tightened my arm around her neck.

"You'd have to do better than that child, or else I might have to squeeze life out of you," I chuckled as tiny veins popped out her temple as she struggled to breath.

"If you want to live, you'd have to learn to do as I say or I might just waste you like I wasted your mother." I whispered into her ears.

"Are we clear?!" I asked.

She nodded and I let her go with a strong push. She fell to the ground, heavily gasping for air.

"Now, be a good girl and go bring Luca to me." I instructed, leaning a hip on the table.

Aria rose up, wiping her face from the forced tears that came out of her eyes from the strangling.

"Sure thing Don." She said.

A small grin appeared at the corner of my lips, I lowered my head to light up my cigarette again and then I heard her voice.

"But that'd be after I make sure you're dead." I lifted my head to see another pistol pointed at me and before I could say anything, she pulled the trigger.

I swiftly dodged it, escaping the bullet by only two inches away from my face.

"You brat!" I cursed as I reached for my gun in my coat.

We shot aggressively at each other, my heart pounding heavily against my chest.

It was at this moment that I realized how skilled I had trained Aria to be,she dodged all my targets but her aiming was impeccable.

While hiding behind some boxes, she continued shooting but she ran out of bullets.

"Shit!" She hissed as she threw the gun away.

My lips curled up into a smirk, "Playtime's over kid, come to Daddy."

As if on cue, she sprung out of her hiding place with a dagger in hand.

Her eyes sparkled with rage as she charged towards me, ready to pierce my body with the dagger.

But I caught grip of her hand just in time, "You must really think you're smart, don't you?" I narrowed my gaze at her surreptitiously.

"I regret knowing you as my father, screw you!" She cursed as she hit my chest severally.

"Yes yes, curse me all you want but I'll also make you regret going against me," And with that,I raised my pistol in front of her.

As I tightened my grip on the pistol, ready to press the trigger, a gunshot was heard from behind Aria.
