Chapter 52 - Junglefowl

Seeing a male junglefowl apparently foraging, Jay was naturally delighted.

"Come on... Let's make this junglefowl our first prey," he decided to hunt the junglefowl.

Jay then drew his arrow and prepared to shoot the junglefowl.

Jay was between 20 and 30 meters from the junglefowl, and with Jay's mastery of archery skills, he felt that with his current strength, he could easily hit the junglefowl.

So, still in his current position, Jay didn't hesitate to take aim and release his arrow.

In a split second, the junglefowl was struck by Jay's arrow, instantly rendering it helpless.

Seeing that his arrow had successfully struck the junglefowl, Jay was delighted and immediately approached it.

"Well, almost 2 kg, this is quite a good harvest," Jay happily weighed the junglefowl in his hands.

As before, Jay drained the blood from the hunted animal and placed it in his basket.

The reason he didn't store it in his chamber was because he wanted to take the hunted animal to his family.

If he placed it in his chamber and the chicken was still in excellent condition, it would certainly arouse suspicion.

Furthermore, he realized that his wife, Ameno, was a ninja, and it wouldn't be as easy to trick her as it was to trick his family. After all, ninjas possessed knowledge and methods unknown to ordinary people.

So, Jay needed to be more careful, Jay thought to himself.

Afterward, Jay began tracking down any birds that might be nearby.

Having successfully hunted a rooster, Jay could predict that there must be a small colony of these birds in the area.

It took Jay over half an hour to locate the colony.

A large area of bush soon appeared in front of him, and he could hear the sounds of activity from several roosters that seemed to be gathering there.

Seeing this, Jay was delighted to see his guess was correct.

"Let's climb a tree and get a better view," he decided to climb a tree and look out over the bushes in front of him.

Jay thought that if he climbed a tree, his view would be wider, and the jungle fowl hidden by the bushes would be much easier to spot.

Finally, after climbing a tree more than 5 meters high, Jay could now gaze out over the expansive area of the bushes in front of him.

The bushes consisted of several small trees that seemed to form a habitat, conducive to the jungle fowl's breeding.

From Jay's observations, the bushes were found to have many thorns, which acted as natural protection for the jungle fowl's nests.

"One...two...three...eight...nine...twelve...eh...why are there so many jungle fowl...but looking at this expansive area of bushes, which is at least hundreds of meters wide...

That makes perfect sense, so now I don't need to look for another place to hunt.

Because here I can definitely get a decent harvest." Jay decided to hunt some jungle fowl in this area.

He would choose at least three or four to take home, and if possible, he thought he would keep the rest in the farm area within his space.

"Okay, let's choose the closest one first," Jay then began observing a medium-sized rooster currently outside the chicken nest.

As an additional note, jungle fowl, like humans, both domestic and wild, prefer to live in groups and are generally happiest when forming a colony.

On the other hand, there is also a hierarchy within the group, with a dominant rooster serving as the leader of the group.

But now when he saw the number of chickens in the area in front of him, Jay became curious about how big the chickens were that dominated this area.

Because at least there must be more than 5 roosters living in it.

And defeating more than 5 roosters is certainly not an easy matter for a chicken leader.

"Shoot…." An arrow shot and directly hit the rooster in the outermost area of the nest.

Which instantly killed the chicken, but Jay didn't come down and remained silent Instead, he continued his hunt.

He knew this was a rare opportunity, so he didn't waste it.

Tens of meters away from the first rooster he had successfully hunted, another rooster appeared to be foraging.

Shortly afterward, the whirring of an arrow was heard, and another jungle fowl was killed.

Moving to another location, Jay discovered a jungle fowl foraging in the bushes, but he couldn't see its sex due to the obstruction.

Nevertheless, Jay was determined to keep hunting it, as this was the only rooster close enough to his target.

"Okay, this is the last one. Let me get closer and get the rest of them into the chamber." Jay then drew his arrow again, and the next second, it missed, piercing the bushes and striking the jungle fowl.

Satisfied with his results, Jay descended from the tree and approached the first rooster he had shot.

Just as before, Jay bled the jungle fowl and then returned to the second hen he had shot.

As Jay approached the third hen, he discovered a bush blocking his path. The thorny bush was making it difficult to get through.

Remembering the fact that he might alarm the many chickens present with the noise he made, Jay could only slowly and patiently cut through the bush.

It took him about 10 minutes to reach the third hen.

Finally, Jay finally caught a female jungle fowl.

"It's quite a plump hen. It's a shame, but it can't be helped." Jay put the hen back in his basket.

Meanwhile, Jay began to look around the area where he had found the hen. He realized that she wouldn't stray far from her nest.

So, in this case, finding some eggs was a good chance.

And sure enough, just as Jay suspected, there was the shadow of an egg about a dozen meters away.

Unfortunately, the egg was surrounded by sharp thorns and nestled deeper in the undergrowth, making it even more difficult for Jay to retrieve it using normal methods.

"If it were a normal human, it would have taken more effort and would have been difficult to retrieve without making too much noise.

But for me, it wasn't difficult." Jay then bent down and, using his spatial powers, quickly placed the nest containing the egg into his space.
