Chapter 42 - Chapter 42 – The Sins' Assault

Dust whirled through the ruined air of Camelot.

Still reeling from Meliodas's crushing blow, Néo staggered, held up by the rebellious demon horde that surrounded him. Veins bulged on his forehead, pulsing with rage.

"You think you can trample my plans?!" he roared, eyes wild.

"I won't let you!"

He raised an arm and barked the order:

"Kill them all! The Demon King, his brothers, the Seven Deadly Sins — leave no one standing!"

With an infernal roar, the demons surged forward like a tidal wave, charging at Meliodas, Zephir, Zeldris, and the Sins.

Zeldris raised a commanding hand to his allies.

"Everyone — avoid killing them if you can. I want prisoners. We end this rebellion cleanly."

Meliodas's eyes sparkled with mischief as he nodded.

"No problem, Zel."

He turned to his old friends.

"You heard him, guys — play nice!"

They all grinned in unison.

"Play nice, huh?" muttered Ban, unsheathing his Sacred Treasure, Courechouse.

"Alright… I can hold back a little."

King, floating calmly beside Chastiefol, added:

"No bloodshed. Let's neutralize them fast."

Diane spun her hammer Gideon with a playful smirk.

"This feels just like old times."

Unfazed, Gowther activated Herritt and expanded his magical circles.

"Targeting. Containment. Purging hostile emotions."

In a flash, the Seven Deadly Sins dove into battle.

Despite their numbers, the demons were overwhelmed — one after another:

Ban, lightning-quick, disarmed opponents with precise strikes to pressure points.

Diane, commanding the earth, raised stone pillars to immobilize the attackers.

King, covering the field with spirit-controlled projectiles, kept allies protected.

Gowther, manipulating minds, neutralized aggression with psychic clarity.

From afar, protected by the Pollen Garden, Elizabeth, Miranda, and the children watched the battle unfold.

Rebecca's eyes sparkled in awe.

"Woah… So that's the true power of the Seven Deadly Sins…"

Miranda and Elizabeth exchanged a soft, knowing smile.

"Yes," Elizabeth whispered.

"And they're unstoppable when they're protecting those they love."

Meanwhile, from atop the remnants of a collapsed tower, Meliodas, Zeldris, and Zephir watched the fight unfold.

"We should go," said Meliodas, unsheathing Lostvayne.

Zeldris nodded and turned to Gelda.

"Stay here. Guard the barrier. I'll come back."

Gelda nodded but held his gaze.

"Be careful, Zel."

Just as they were about to leap into the fray, Zephir raised a hand to stop them.

His eyes were locked on Néo, still lingering at the back of the battlefield, watching with cold intent.

"You two — go help the others," he said, voice calm but fierce.

"I'll deal with him."

Zeldris raised an eyebrow.

"Alone?"

Zephir nodded. A fiery determination burned in his gaze.

"If we want to end this rebellion once and for all… we need to cut off the head of the beast."

He stepped forward, sword gleaming in his hand, his aura flaring with power.

"Néo is mine."
