Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 – A Light in the Ruins

Wings spread wide, Meliodas and Zeldris soared through the turbulent skies of the Demon Realm, crossing once more the magical gate that bridged their world with Britannia.

The wind shifted, the air grew softer. The sky above lightened.

They had returned.

No sooner had they emerged from the clouds than Meliodas pulled the artifact from inside his cloak.

It hovered between his fingers—cold to the touch, still silent.

"Let's hope this little thing actually works…" he muttered, staring at the black crystal.

He glanced toward Zeldris.

"Let's fly around for a bit. Maybe the artifact will pick something up."

Zeldris narrowed his eyes.

"You seriously think that'll work? Just… flying around aimlessly?"

Meliodas shrugged.

"I dunno, Zel. But we've gotta try something."

They climbed higher, gliding slowly over the lands of Britannia. The scenery passed beneath them—rolling hills, deep valleys, endless forests…

And then… ruins.

Meliodas recognized them at once. Broken stone, crumbled towers—ancient, silent.

"Camelot's ruins…" he murmured.

The place where, years ago, the Demon King had taken over his body. Where Elizabeth, the Seven Deadly Sins, and their allies had risked everything to save him.

The battle had devastated the entire region… and left Camelot in ghostly silence.

Meliodas hovered, lost in thought.

"I hope Arthur's still holding strong. And that Merlin's there to guide him…" he whispered.

Suddenly, without warning, Zeldris smacked him hard in the arm.

"Ow! What the hell, man?!" Meliodas shouted.

Zeldris, clearly annoyed, pointed sharply.

"Look at the artifact, idiot."

Meliodas glanced down.

The crystal… was glowing. Faintly—but unmistakably.

A soft red light pulsed at its center.

He froze.

"It… it's lighting up. That means… he's alive."

Zeldris clenched his jaw, eyes fixed toward the horizon.

"And that glow is pointing… that way."

Meliodas nodded. A flicker of resolve lit in his eyes.

"Perfect. Let's follow it."

They shifted course, flying now with purpose.

With each beat of their wings, the crystal pulsed more vividly—guiding them.

But the closer they came, the more the landscape stirred something familiar in Meliodas.

He narrowed his eyes.

"Wait a second… this direction…"

Zeldris completed the thought aloud, voice low.

"…leads straight to the Forest of the Fairy King."

The home of King and Diane. Two of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Two trusted comrades.

And maybe… the next key to the truth.
