Ryan got out of the car and stretched. The late afternoon air was filled with the scent of fresh grass and wild flowers. A few song birds called from the trees, and a soft breeze ruffled the leaves. This was his favorite part of being an entomologist. Being around nature always made him feel relaxed. He could feel the tiredness from the previous days of work melt away.
A dragonfly fluttered past, and its glossy wings caught the sunlight, making it glitter like gems. He reached out to touch it, but it flew away too fast. The movement made him smile faintly. Insects in the wild always played by their own rules. Sometimes they would take the initiative to approach, and at other times they would hide away.
"I think we should set up our tents before coming up for the equipment," Anthony said, opening the boot.
