"Shizuka, do you really love bathing that much? Won't it wrinkle your skin?" Miyoko couldn't help but chuckle, and Shizuka laughed along with her.
"When I was little, I had hair this long too!" After some playful banter, Miyoko continued brushing while reminiscing a bit.
"Really? Then why did you cut it short?" Shizuka asked curiously.

But after her mother left, she never kept it long again!
"How about growing it out after we defeat the Demon King?"

"Miyoko, you okay?" I walked up beside her.
"Oh, it's you, Nobita!" Miyoko tried to stand up, like she didn't want anyone seeing her looking so down.
I placed my hand on her cat back, gently keeping her seated.
"I'll do my best, give it everything I've got—to rescue your dad and defeat the Demon King!"
"So please, cheer up!"
I didn't say stuff like "overcome the difficulties" or "keep pushing"—I knew Miyoko already understood that, so there was no need to repeat it.
All I could do was support her actions.
"Thank you, Nobita!" For the first time, Miyoko looked at me directly with a complicated expression.
