Chapter 99 - Chapter 99: Rest Assured and Go!

When I finally woke from the coma, my head felt like it was splitting open.

It was like a bunch of needles stabbing my brain—ow, it hurt.

I took a while to shake it off.

Once awake, I realized I was lying in a bed.

The room was empty, but the decor was fancy.

The decorations looked familiar—like when I rescued Princess Spiana before.

This was probably the palace!

I figured Doraemon and the others brought me back after I passed out.

Thinking that, my head still throbbed.

I really overdid it this time—nearly drained myself completely.

I promised to be cautious, play it safe like a sneaky guy, but I got carried away and ended up like this.

I guess I lack experience.

Testing this new move was risky.

Imitating that Pain guy's Tengai Shinsei nearly did me in.

But the power was impressive—I was satisfied.

As for how I came up with it, I couldn't make a gravity black hole like Pain.

So I referenced a yo-yo: condense telekinesis into a ball, spin it counterclockwise to create suction.

Then, like Spider-Man shooting webs, the telekinetic ropes at the end spread into a net, grabbing and controlling everything in range.

Finally, the central ball's rotation retracts the nets, creating huge pulling force.

That pulls controlled objects to the ball, enlarging it with each spin.

It matches Pain's Tengai Shinsei.

It's a good move, but hard for 1v1—long startup time; someone could attack me multiple times before it's ready.

And the drain is insane—one use and I'm bedridden.

But once my psychic level improves, it'll get better.

This also shows my psychic development is solid—other moves in my head should work too.

While I was mentally reviewing the experience...

The door opened.

"Nobita, you're finally awake!"

Seeing me up, Doraemon and the others who entered were thrilled.

"Nobita, you're awake! I was so scared something happened! Here, drink this medicine from the Doctor's Kit checkup!"

Doraemon pulled out a bottle of green liquid and poured it into my mouth.

Ugh! Bitter—my face scrunched up.

But after drinking, my pale face improved a lot, some color returned.

That floaty, weak feeling eased up.

Seeing me recover, everyone relaxed.

Looking at their worried faces, I smiled. "Hey, don't look so worried. See? I'm fine!"

"Nobita, don't push yourself like that again.

Even if we didn't win, I could've gotten gadgets from the future later! Forcing it scares me to death!" Doraemon nagged.

"Yeah, do you know how worried I was?" Shizuka's eyes teared up, voice choked.

If not for the crowd, she'd have hugged me!

Seeing even Suneo and Gian advising me, I said awkwardly, "Okay, okay! I won't be so reckless next time!"

"If I do, I'll tell you first!"

With my promise, they dropped it—me waking up was good news.

So we all sat and chatted, sharing fun stories.

As we talked, I noticed Princess Spiana wasn't there.

"By the way, where's Princess Spiana? I don't see her. Is she okay?" I asked Doraemon.

"She's fine—just calming the people after the big war."

"But we should start calling her Queen Spiana soon, since she's the last of the Bauwanko royal line." Doraemon smiled.

Hearing that, I understood—she'd replace Prince Kuntakku as the new ruler of this ancient kingdom.

That was good—at least we knew her, so the kingdom should stay peaceful for a while, not invading like Daburanda.

After seeing our power, they'd probably be deterred anyway—no funny business short-term!

I rested in the palace for a day and mostly recovered—it wasn't a big injury, just mental exhaustion.

Doraemon's medicine sped it up.

I was basically fine now.

But while I was okay...

Someone had lost their life.

"What? You say Prince Kuntakku and Chippo are dead?" Doraemon and I were shocked hearing the maid's message!

"We knew their lives were like flickering candles, but not that it'd end now." Doraemon sighed.

"But the maid said they heard our victory news and passed with tears of joy, smiling—no regrets."

Seeing everyone's silence, I comforted them.

"Yeah! Nobita's right—at least they went happily!"

Doraemon agreed.

That cheered everyone up.

A few days later, they held the funeral for Prince Kuntakku and Chippo.

It was pretty sparse—besides us, hardly anyone came.

One was a former fugitive, the other with only his mom left.

It felt tragic.

In the courtyard where we'd hidden before, two tombstones stood.

Before them, Princess Spiana and Chippo's mom wept.

Bruce had come earlier, but after the giant statue battle lost so many soldiers, he had to recruit and manage the rest—no time to linger.

Looking at the cold tombstones with black-and-white photos, I sighed at the loss of young lives.

Rest assured and go!

I'll take good care of them!
