Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Entrance Exam — Mirror of Truth

That day became one of the most important and unforgettable days of my life.

Because on that day, I met the people who would become my party members—my true companions.

That's why I will never forget it.

I was finally ready to attend the entrance exam for the Great Five Magic College.

When I arrived, I was shocked.

I never imagined there would be so many people...

Looking around at the crowd, I thought to myself:

"If this many people are here, then each of them must have their own reason—maybe pain, dreams, or duty—just like me."

I looked up at the sky and whispered silently from my heart:

"Dad... I will get the potion. I will save Mom. That's my promise to you."

The exam began.

The first test was designed to measure our full physical and magical power.

We had to stand 50 meters away from a magical object known as the Mirror of Truth.

It was a sacred tool that could see through lies, fear, and self-limiting control. It showed a person's true potential, whether they liked it or not.

You couldn't fake anything in front of that mirror. You couldn't hide.

The teachers began calling students one by one.

The first to go was my best friend, Sanjay. He was strong, confident, and used a spear.

He stepped forward calmly and launched a direct attack at the mirror. A blast of force hit it hard, and the mirror was pushed back. Sanjay himself was thrown 27 meters backward from the recoil.

The crowd nodded in approval.

"Strong physical power and solid technique."

Next came Princess Priya. She was royalty, graceful and fierce.

But what truly stood out was that she could use both sword and magic— a combination so rare that even the teachers seemed eager to see her in action.

She calmly raised her blade, and with a smooth, glowing strike, she sent her energy toward the mirror. It hit cleanly—but she didn't move an inch.

Everyone was stunned.

"She has complete control over her energy..." everyone whispered.

Next was Riya, a calm and focused girl with pure magical abilities.

She specialized in healing, attack, and defence magic—a true magic-type user.

She raised her hand, cast a beautiful magic spell, and struck the mirror. The mirror was pushed back an incredible 30 meters.

The room filled with surprised murmurs.

"She's powerful... and she's just getting started."

Then… it was my turn.

I took a deep breath, and stepped forward.

My name was called, and I walked toward the testing line.

This was it. No hiding. No fear. No second chances.

It was time… to show them who I really am

It was my turn.

"It's my time."

I stepped forward, holding my sword tightly. I took a deep breath.

"Let's begin."

With everything I had, I attacked the Mirror of Truth.

BOOM!!!

A massive explosion echoed across the field.

The ground shook. Dust rose into the air.

When it cleared… everyone stood in silence.

The mirror was shattered.

A wave of shock spread through the crowd. Even the teachers were stunned.

"That mirror... it was crafted by ancient masters," one of them whispered.

It had never broken before.

After a long silence, the head examiner stepped forward and clapped once.

"Very well. Let us move to the second test."
