"Hey Ryan!" She called out, her voice carrying easily across the field. "Come to check up on me?"
I walked out onto the turf, shaking my head. "You are going to miss dinner, Sydney. The whole house is worried about you."
She jogged toward me at normal human speed, though I noticed that even her casual movements seemed more fluid and controlled than before. The virus was changing her at a fundamental level, like it did with me but that super speed she had clearly was her own unique ability like how Rachel was her ability to summon barriers.
"Sorry about that," she said when she reached me, not sounding particularly sorry. "I got caught up in testing some new parameters. You wouldn't believe what I can do now, Ryan. The speed, the control—it's incredible."
