-CHAPTER 4-

- FUSHIGURO MEGUMI POV-

Honest opinion? Fighting is very stress relieving. Really! I had the best rest I've ever had after beating up Gama!

I guess other than "Love", what I'm feeling now is "Enjoyment" and "Satisfaction".

But honestly that fight was a shitshow, nothing went to plan. Gama was more intelligent and ready for battle than I had thought. And faster too.

While I didn't have the rhythm or experience required to fight alongside my Shikigami, which is a huge disadvantage. This battle also showed me that I really needed to step up my game in my physical and martial departments. Once again I cursed the lazy nature of old Megumi. He could've asked Gojo for training but for some reason he despised training!

Another important thing was that I needed to keep a check on my emotions in battle. The way I had lost control over my emotions could've gone disastrous for me. It was just my luck that Divine Dogs were there to help me. But against a more intelligent opponent, I would've died as they would've easily goaded me into attacking them blindly. And not to mention that it was vital for Jujutsu Sorcerers to keep a check on their emotions, both to control their cursed energy but also to achieve a Black Flash as it required a full zone of focus and concentration.

I also need to work on improving the CE Reinforcement that I learnt by the end of the fight.

It really put a perspective on things I needed to improve to be honest.

But despite it all, this couldn't have gone any better. I didn't get too injured, neither of my Divine Dogs died, and I even managed to increase my CE and tame Gama!

"I see this as an absolute win!" I yelled to myself remembering the meme, but winced and held the back of my head- now with some bandages to stop the bleeding. "Ow!"

I guess I'll have to give Shoko a call sometime later.

But let's get back to taming some more Shikigami!

Did you just think of me as suicidal? I'm not. Because despite almost getting my ass kicked in that fight, I had improved by leaps and bounds and I didn't want to give up the exhilaration of becoming powerful with each battle up!

Maybe I was mad but my CE reserves had increased by 20% just with the last fight. So it was clearly working.

My goal today was to tame as many of the Shikigami I could. Of course I knew I wouldn't be able to do it all in one day (maybe only three or four) but I still wanted to try.

For the last hour I had been regenerating my CE back using negative emotions- especially the ones associated with the Dead Land, which for some reason sped up the process by a lot. This break also helped me recover some of my stamina. I have to work on improving my physical strength and stamina. Because right now they were probably my greatest weakness.

I stood back up. But first let's enhance our fighting capability shall we?

Because while my body was resting, my mind was running with the possibilities that adding Gama (or Toad as he was in English dub, but I like Gama more) to my arsenal would provide. And I soon arrived at an answer.

Not much. At Least not if he was as he is. I already had physical fighters and while his utility would be useful, I wanted to enhance his overall usefulness much more.

And that was I remembered that I wasn't even using my available powerset to its full potential! You wouldn't believe how loud and fast my palm met my face.

Shadows! I just remembered that the Ten Shadows User can also use Shadows (to a small degree). And the award for dumbest person alive goes to- Me!

I could've hidden inside Shadows to dodge Gama's blows but I was so occupied with the Shikigami aspect of the Technique that I totally forgot about the Shadows aspect.

Honestly though, I couldn't do anything about it now. Plus rather than how Shadow Manipulation works in other forms of fiction, I can only use it for utility or stealth purposes rather make weapons out of it- at least that had how it worked in the anime,

Well- I can use it for drowning people into the abyss of the shadows but it would only work on people as the Shikigami can jump out of it easily.

The untamed Shikigami uses the shadows to appear in the real world but is unable to use shadows after that, while me and my tamed Shikigami can use the shadows whenever we want.

But that was a moot point now. What I wanted to do was create a personal Binding Vow, as I had just gotten an amazing idea.

Any fan of JJK would know how busted these were as Sukuna was spamming them in the final battle. So I wanted to make one involving my Shikigami as well.

Gama's specialties are his maneuverability, and the strength, speed and elongation of his tongue. Basically a utility type Shikigami that was relatively weak physically (we did defeat him in like 20 minutes). To me only his tongue is of any worth as he was able to quickly rescue Megumi from Todo's blows in season 1 of the anime and even moved him from getting hit by Toji's blows, showing its superior speed.

So in return for his maneuverability and fighting strength, by keeping him and summoning him only into shadows, the total stats of his tongue should increase drastically. While this would make him unusable in daytime, at night time he would be a very useful companion as he could attack you from anywhere and he would basically be unkillable by anyone bar maybe Mahoraga (you can cut off his tongue but it would just regenerate).

Now… How do you make a Binding Vow?

The only Binding Vow that we ever see get made in the series is the one Sukuna made with Yuji after ripping his heart out. Also we do see the "Revealing One's Hand" and that also works similarly. And from what we see in both situations, you have to verbally say it with the intention of making a Binding Vow only then can you make one.

So here it goes. I performed the hand signs and summoned the frog Shikigami. "[Gama]" directly into my shadow.

It was my first time doing this so it was a bit weird as I could feel him (and his weight) sitting in my Shadow, even see a vague shape of him attached to my shadow. But I shook my head. Anyways… let's make sure that the wording of the vow is correct and don't give some unknown side effects.

Here goes nothing… "In return for only summoning and keeping Gama inside of shadows and giving up the maneuverability and strength of his body, the full total stats of his tongue would increase and gain the ability of exiting from any shadows within 20 meters near the User." I finished and waited for something to change but nothing did. Atleast at first glance.

"Huff…" I sighed. "So much for Binding Vows." I guess I'll have to ask Gojo about this. I started. "Come out Gama-" But I stopped before completing because-

I felt that something would break if I told Gama to come out.

A smile broke out in my face and I turned to look at a pillar a few meters away. "Gama. Attack." And in a blink it and you miss it moment, a long blackish tongue left a shadow and obliterated the stone pillar into dust.

BOOOM!

"YES!!!!" I jumped in happiness. I could think of a thousand ways to use this, from mobility, utility, to attack. Plus, from what I saw he was able to attack from any shadow and not just mine (not to mention the change in his tongue from being purple to black now).

Anyone can make use of an elongating, nigh-indestructible, super fast tongue. I put one hand into my shadow and started petting the small frog. "You did great Gama! Keep it up!"

"RIBBIT!"

"Yep!" I nodded patting it some more- in just the right spot… which I somehow knew.

Anyway, after celebrating some more. I got back to work.

""HOWL!""

My CE had regenerated fully by now, so I summoned out the Divine Dogs too. As it was, it was kind of easy for me to keep both the Shikigami (technically three but Divine Dogs counted and cost as one) summoned and maintained at the same time.

"It is 1 AM right now. And the sunrise happens at 6. We have 5 hours to tame as many of your brothers and sisters as we can." I said to Gama and the Dogs as I emptied the bag full of metal bats that I had bought into my Shadow Inventory, feeling the metaphysical weight of them settle on my shoulders. But this was also my way of training my body to get used to the weight. Not to mention I wanted to try some things.

Holding one of the bats in my hands and taking some swings with it, I reinforced it with CE.

Cracking my neck I smiled and said. "Let the grind begin!"
