Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: The Brutal Saiyan Nature

After a period of travel through the Warp, the fleets of Axis and Russ arrived in an unfamiliar star system.

It was a stellar system similar to the Solar System, with a single yellow dwarf star at its center, surrounded by five gas giants and four smaller rocky planets, each about the size of Mars.

However, these terrestrial planets all orbited too close to their sun.

The temperatures on their surfaces were far too high, making them completely unsuitable for terraforming into human-habitable worlds.

Next to one of the massive gas giants, though, was a planet located in the habitable zone.

Slightly smaller than Earth, this planet had been discovered by humans ages ago and transformed into one of humanity's colonies.

After a cataclysmic Warp storms swept across the galaxy, this colony world had been completely cut off from contact with the rest of humanity.

When the planet was rediscovered, its human population had already been wiped out and the world had become a greenskin stronghold through and through.

Now, the entire planet teemed with Orks.

With no other enemies left to fight, the greenskins had turned on each other, plunging the world into ceaseless, chaotic infighting.

Every day, Orks died.

Every day, new Orks were spawned.

Every day, even bigger and stronger Warbosses emerged to take control.

The only good news was that, lacking any real external conflict, the Orks had only managed to reach the level of "modern" firearms, and none had developed spacefaring technology, and for now, they remained planet-bound.

The high-definition projections aboard the fleet's flagship gave a clear view of just how chaotic the planet below had become.

"WAAAGH!!!"

"WAAAGH!!!"

Countless greenskin monsters roared with excitement, brandishing their ramshackle weapons and tearing into one another.

"The Imperium discovered this planet a few years ago," an Imperial officer explained, "and normally, with a world like this, a single Navy task force working with the Imperial Army could easily take control of it.

"But with Orks, it's a different story.

"Orks are a galactic calamity. If ordinary human troops fight them recklessly, it only spurs their evolution and makes the whole species stronger.

"To deal with such a special xenos race, you either have to utterly crush them in a single blow, or only fight them with melee weapons." The Imperial officer finished, shaking his head.

After finding this world, the Imperium had spent years gathering massive numbers of human troops in preparation.

Now, all that remained was to wait for a Primarch to arrive and lead them in exterminating every greenskin on the planet.

If they couldn't wipe out the Orks completely, they would have to resort to Exterminatus, rendering the world utterly useless.

"Lord Primarch! The 721st Imperial Army regiment is in position. All several million soldiers await your command. How shall we proceed with this battle?" a general asked.

Russ, however, didn't answer him directly.

"You know, with these terrestrial planets, if we use stellar boosters, we could nudge them into the habitable zone and terraform them as new Imperial worlds."

Axis nodded and added, "The gas giants' moons could be terraformed, too, either as mining worlds or fortress worlds."

The Imperial Navy officer interjected, "With all due respect, my lords, now isn't the time to discuss post-war plans. We need to take this world first. By our estimates, the Ork population could be in the hundreds of millions.

Russ waved dismissively. "Don't worry. By the end of today, there won't be a single Ork left on this planet."

With Axis joining the fight, there was simply no way the greenskins could mount any real resistance.

Their entire army had basically become a cleanup crew.

The battle would be over in a day, how to handle the star system afterward was the real question.

"We'll need to relocate more civilians from other Imperial worlds. This place could support a hive world, at the very least," Axis mused.

The mortal officers nearby looked on in disbelief.

They simply couldn't fathom what the Primarchs were discussing with their Astartes captain.

Russ laughed. "This world is being claimed by the Space Wolves. That means we get a cut of the taxes, too."

Axis added, "There are also a few habitable moons. It'd be best to make a couple of them into agri-worlds, so the system can support itself."

"Good idea! How long will it take you to take this world?" Russ asked.

Axis stroked his chin. "A few hours, probably."

If he was allowed to destroy the whole planet, it would take less than a minute.

Axis had yetv to blow up a planet and watch it go up in cosmic fireworks, he was a bit exited at the idea and wanted to try it, but now was not the right time.

The mortal officers were getting anxious now.

Sure, they knew how powerful the Astartes were, but to take a world with hundreds of millions of Orks in just a few hours? Surely this had to be a joke?

Russ turned to his staff. "You there, send an Astropathic message to the Departmento Munitorum. Tell them to prepare at least two billion hive world settlers for immediate deployment.

"And notify the Martian Mechanicus, we'll be starting system-wide terraforming operations as soon as this is over."

The mortal officers felt like they were being swept up by a tornado. "Primarch, could you please be serious for a moment?

"This is a major campaign! The Imperium has mobilized millions of millitia to help the Space Wolves conquer this Ork world."

Axis barked, "Didn't you hear the Primarch's orders? Get moving!"

A hesitant general protested, "But, my lord Astartes, even with Exterminatus it would take one or two days to completely destroy this planet. If that was our goal, there'd have been no need to assemble the entire army.

"The objective is to take the world intact!"

Axis replied, "I have no intention of using Exterminatus. Order all Imperial landing forces to deploy in twelve hours.

"Your job will be to clean up the battlefield.

"Burn every single Ork fungus and corpse on the surface with flamers, and keep strict watch. After the war, I don't want to see any Ork fungus sprouting up unexpectedly."

Russ nodded, this time serious enough, leaving no room for rebuttal. "You heard your orders. Get moving."

When the Primarchs gave an order, a soldier had no choice but to obey.

The human officers could only sigh and begin making preparations for the post-battle cleanup.

Axis and Russ made their way to a landing craft.

"Axis, when you deal with the Orks, try not to go overboard with the firepower. Don't devastate the planet too much," Russ said.

"Relax! Just watch the show!" Axis nodded at Russ, then pointed his thumb toward himself.

In the Dragon Ball world, pointing your thumb at yourself wasn't something just anyone dared to do.

The one most famous for that move was Vegeta, known as Quickie Vegeta.

Whether it was villains or main character warriors who made this gesture, they almost always met a quick defeat.

Of course, that wasn't the case for Axis… Now that he throught about it, he hoped the "The curse of the thump pose" didn't affect him.

Axis climbed into the drop pod.

After a violent shake, he was hurled toward the target planet.

A few minutes later, Axis's drop pod landed precisely on the Ork world.

Boom!

The impact created a huge crater.

As the dust cleared, Axis's figure slowly floated up.

"WAAAGH!!!" A nearby Ork had already spotted Axis, immediately roaring and pounding his iron club.

Gathered around him were a gang of young Orks, all staring curiously at Axis, unsure what this strange thing was.

"He's a shrimp! A shrimp in a tin can!"

"Doesn't smell like shrimp…"

"Whatever! Smash it first, ask questions later!"

Led by an Ork warboss, the mob of Ork boyz howled and charged at Axis.

This "shrimp" looked weird, but no matter, his armor seemed valuable.

 They'd take it for themselves.

Axis snorted coldly and fired a Ki blast with a flick of his finger.

Boom!

A blinding white light erupted.

The Ork warboss and his dozens of followers were instantly blasted to bits.

With a casual sweep of his palm, Axis unleashed a crescent-shaped shockwave, obliterating thousands more Orks in the distance.

When Orks died, they left behind countless spores.

Destroying these special Ork spores was the only way to prevent them from repopulating the land.

That meant you had to be thorough.

Axis used ki to vaporize the Ork bodies, erasing them down to the cellular level.

These greenskin Orks were physically quite, far, far beyond ordinary humans.

Some of the stronger ones even matched Astartes in pure, raw physical power.

Now it was time to show them what a true Saiyan could do!

Axis gleefully played around, using only martial arts.

He kicked an Ork's head clean off, punching straight through another's skull, grabbing two Orks and smashing their heads together until both were pulp.

He laughed maniacally as he tore into the Ork mob, every punch leaving a spray of blood.

There was no finesse in his fighting, just pure brute force and speed.

"Too weak! Way too weak!" Axis grabbed one Ork warboss by the head and slammed him into the ground.

The earth cracked, and the shockwave hurled dozens of Orks away.

Suddenly, a deafening roar echoed from afar.

A gigantic Ork warboss over four meters tall appeared, clad in rough metal armor, his right hand replaced by a custom power claw.

"Big shrimp! I'm gonna tear you to pieces!" the Ork warboss bellowed, charging with his claw raised.

"Haha, do you like to play punch-the-sandbag? No? Then you be the sandbag," Axis giggled, grabbing the Ork warboos's arm and swinging him hard into the ground.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The ground trembled with each impact.

In moments, the Ork warboss was reduced to a single severed arm.

Everything else was just a blur of green flesh.

"Opps, We can't pollute the environment." Axis's palm glowed with white light, vaporizing the mangled green meat in front of him.

He flicked the Ork blood from his hand and looked around.

The entire battlefield had become a slaughterhouse, with Ork limbs scattered everywhere.

The shockwave from crushing that last Ork warboss had killed most of the nearby Ork boyz as well.

But on the distant hills, more greenskins were surging in like a tidal wave, their war cries shaking the earth.

"WAAAGH!!!" "Kill that shrimp!" "He killed the boss! We'll avenge him!"

Axis grinned savagely, twisting his neck until it cracked.

His eyes gleamed red, and his ki began to boil around him.

"If you're all in such a hurry to die…" He slowly raised his right hand, spreading his fingers.

"Hehehehehehehe." Axis laughed creepily.

Big Bang Attack!

BOOM—!!!

A torrent of violent energy erupted from Axis's palm, engulfing the entire battlefield in an instant.

The Orks didn't even have time to scream as they were incinerated in the blazing heat, the shockwave tearing across dozens of kilometers and splitting the ground.

When the smoke cleared, the area had become a molten lake of lava, with not a single intact corpse remaining.

Yet this horrific scene didn't scare off the Orks.

If anything, it only made them more excited. As if receiving some kind of signal, Orks from all across the planet started rushing toward the location.

On the horizon, a massive Ork army appeared. With battlewagons, mechs, even a few patchwork gargant war machines among them.

Axis bared his teeth in a wicked smile.

A kind of creepy giggle was rising within him.

Atop a giant war fortress, an Ork warboss raised his massive axe and roared, "Shrimp! I'm gonna crush you myself!"

Axis tilted his head, curling his middle finger at the warboss in mockery. "Come on, let's see how long you last."

"WAAAGH!!!" The warboss led the charge.

The ground shook as cannons boomed, and a storm of bullets and rockets rained down on Axis.

Axis didn't even bother dodging.

The bullets clanged harmlessly off him, making a musical "ding ding dang dang."

A second later—bam!

Axis punched straight through the war fortress.

Standing in the cockpit, he seized the warboss by the throat. "That's it?"

With an excited 'oops', Axis squeezed—crack!

The warboss's head lolled limply, neck snapped.

He yanked the boss's head off, spine and all, and flung it away like trash.

The corpse flew like a cannonball, smashing through a nearby Ork Gargant and ruining the ramshackle titan.

At that moment, Axis finally let loose some of the brutality that defined the Saiyan race.
