Chapter Seventy One
Soft, golden radiance emanated from somewhere ahead of him. Yuta stumbled toward it, ancient stone suddenly formed beneath his feet.
The light grew brighter as he approached, and gradually Yuta could make out its source. A massive seal, carved with intricate symbols that seemed to pulse with golden fire.
And coiled within that seal, calm and patient, was a massive serpent.
The creature was beautiful in a way that made Yuta's chest ache. Midnight black scales that shimmered so dark that they shone, its eyes were like rubies that gazed at him with an almost human intelligence.
Familiar.
Yuta stared at those crimson eyes, and something stirred in the depths of his memory. Where had he seen eyes like that before?
The serpent watched him with what almost looked like recognition, its massive head tilting slightly as if it knew him.
"Where did I meet you?" Yuta whispered, taking a step closer to the seal.
As he spoke, something took shape in his palm.
